The Weinerlogues with Bill Maher and Jane Lynch

Here is the original post:

Fortunately HBO can broadcast things which the networks can’t. Bill Maher and Jane Lynch performed a reading of Anthony Weiner’s dialogue with a Las Vegas blackjack dealer named Lisa verbatim. This provides greater insight into what happened than can be obtained by the network evening news reports–plus it is hilarious to actually hear this out Broadcasting platform : YouTube Source : Liberal Values Discovery Date : 11/06/2011 18:50 Number of articles : 2

Glenn Reynolds linked something this morning, to which some of our blog readers had also alerted me, but only today did I bother to watch the transcript. Kevin Maher on Danielle Staub Biography: More Like Naked Lies!

We all know Danielle Staub is an expert at getting naked . But telling the truth? That’s another story. Following a successful defamation of character lawsuit against this reality star – in which Staub settled the day before she was scheduled to be deposed – Kevin Maher is at it again. The ex-husband of this former drug-dealing call girl has filed a lawsuit against publishing company Simon & Schuster, claiming it knowingly published false information about him in Staub’s new memoir “The Naked Truth.” In documents filed last week, Maher states Simon & Schuster, “failed to use reasonable care to determine the truth or falsity” of allegations Staub brings against him in the book. Notably, he takes issue with Staub’s assertion that Maher beat her so badly, she had to be hospitalized for a concussion and “assorted contusions.” Maher tells TMZ he’s asking for $10 million in damages. We’re asking both of these people to go away forever, but we’re unlikely to get our wish.

AP Bashes Christine O’Donnell With Bill Maher’s ‘Witchcraft’ Video Clip

The Associated Press is using a video clip that Bill Maher showed on HBO’s “Real Time” Friday to bash Delaware Republican senatorial nominee Christine O’Donnell. Here’s the headline: Bill Maher Digs Up O’Donnell ‘Witchcraft’ Clip   Inside the piece , things got even dicier: Since O’Donnell’s upset of nine-term Rep. Mike Castle, opponents have unearthed unflattering age-old television clips. The most recent was aired by comedian Bill Maher, who dug up one of O’Donnell’s appearances on his “Politically Incorrect” show in 1999. The context of what led to her comments is not clear, and O’Donnell is laughing while she talks. “I dabbled into witchcraft. I never joined a coven,” she said. ” … I hung around people who were doing these things. I’m not making this stuff up. I know what they told me they do,” she said. “… One of my first dates with a witch was on a satanic altar, and I didn’t know it. I mean, there’s little blood there and stuff like that,” she said. “We went to a movie and then had a little midnight picnic on a satanic altar.” Maher said on “Real Time with Bill Maher” that he has more clips of O’Donnell and will continue to air them until she appears on his show.  Here’s what actually happened on Friday’s “Real Time”: So, a conservative hater like Maher has numerous video clips of O’Donnell which he is going to air on his program likely every week until Election Day, and the nation’s leading wire service apparently is going to keep its readers apprised of their contents. And people think there’s a liberal bias in the media.

NYT’s Kate Zernike Warns of ‘Drive for Ideological Purity’ Among ‘Far to the Right’ Tea Party Candidates

New York Times ” Tea Party” correspondent Kate Zernike again insisted that the main victims of Tea Party enthusiasm will be, not Democrats, but mainstream Republicans, in Thursday’s ” G.O.P. Gets a Partner, But Who Will Lead? ” It’s basically a snapshot of the growing conflict between Sen. Jim DeMint, who has pushed conservative Tea Party candidates, and Sen. John Cornyn, chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, whose job it is to elect Republicans. A photo caption over a picture of DeMint reads: “Senator Jim DeMint has embraced the ideological purity that characterize many candidates with Tea Patty backing.” If ever there was proof that the Tea Party and the Republican Party do not necessarily go hand in hand, it is Christine O’Donnell’s victory over the establishment in the Republican Senate primary in Delaware. So what happens now, with the primary season ending, and the Tea Party having defined it? Does the Tea Party remake the G.O.P. in its image, staging a “hostile takeover,” as Matt Kibbe, the president of FreedomWorks, the libertarian advocacy group, urged activists rallying outside the Capitol last weekend to do? Or will the Republican Party co-opt the Tea Party, as Trent Lott, a former leader of the Senate Republicans, said it must? The embodiment of this question might be Senator Jim DeMint, the South Carolina Republican who has made himself and his Senate Conservatives Fund a kind of Tea Party Good Housekeeping seal of approval. Sitting at the intersection of the Republican Party and the Tea Party, Mr. DeMint could be a model for how the two might co-exist — or an example of how the drive for ideological purity could turn the Republicans into a niche party. How “far to the right” are these Tea Partiers, you may ask. Zernike is eager to tell: Even some of the primaries that Tea Party candidates lost suggest how much the Tea Party sentiment has already pushed Republicans to the right. In Tuesday’s Republican primary in New Hampshire, for example, two Tea Party candidates in the Second Congressional District lost to Charlie Bass, a former congressman swept out in the Democratic wave of 2006. Mr. Bass was once known as the classic New England moderate. But to win the nomination this year, he campaigned far to the right — so far that The Concord Monitor editorialized, “It will take such a long way back to the middle that he’d better pack a lunch.” Democrats are certainly counting on the Republicans’ taking a very long trip to a very remote region of the right.

Maher Calls "Teabaggers" Racists; Uses N-Word As Proof

On September 16th’s Larry King Live, guest Bill Maher called “Teabaggers” racists, claimed they hate black people, and added when referring to President Obama as a “Kenyan”, it’s code for “nigger”. Note the chuckling Larry King who didn’t at all seem phased by Maher’s casual use of a racial epithet as well as lack of any kind of media coverage. We all know when liberals use racial slurs, it’s never out of sensitivity or hate. Bill was just trying to make a point, right?

Larry King Explains Decision to End CNN Show — Says It Wasn’t Pressure from the Media

First it was long-time anchor Lou Dobbs, who retired last fall from CNN . Now another fixture of the network will soon be playing another role in the cable news universe. On CNN’s June 29 “Larry King Live,” host Larry King, who had never been terribly friendly with conservative guests , announced his decision he would be giving up his show this fall. “Before I start the show tonight, I want to share some personal news with you,” King said. “Twenty-five years ago, I sat across this table from New York Gov. Mario Cuomo for the first broadcast ever of ‘Larry King Live.’ And now, decades later, I talked to the guys here at CNN and I told them I’d like to end ‘Larry King Live,’ the nightly show that — this fall and CNN has graciously accepted to agree to, giving me more time for my wife and I to get to the kids’ little league games.” King explained he would still contribute CNN and would stay on board until a replacement is found to fill the 9 p.m. ET slot on the network. “I still be a part of the CNN family, be hosting several Larry King specials on major national and international subjects and we’ll be here until a replacement is found, will be here into the fall,” he continued. “Tomorrow night, in fact, Elizabeth Edwards will be our special guest. I’m incredibly proud that we with recently made the ‘Guinness Book of World Records’ for having the longest-running show with the same host in the same time slot on the same network. With that chapter closing, I’m looking forward to the future, what my next chapter will bring. But for now, for here, it’s time to hang up the nightly suspenders. Until then, we’ve got more shows to do and who knows what the future’s going to bring.” King’s guest for this special announcement was no other than liberal bomb-thrower Bill Maher and he said to him it was a decision that involved spending more time with his family. “Well, this was tough, Bill. I mean, it was — it was time. I was ready to do it. CNN folks agreed to it. We sat down. We’re going to do specials and more time with the family,” King said. “And I want to expand. I want to do other things that I haven’t been able to do.” Maher compared the CNN host to Mickey Mantle because of his longevity and told King he thought he was retiring too soon: MAHER: I am — I am reminded of what my father, who was a broadcaster said the day Mickey Mantle retired, say isn’t so, he began the broadcast. KING: You put me in that class? MAHER: Mickey Mantle? You are the Mickey Mantle of broadcasters. Mickey Mantle played 18 seasons. You played more than that. So, I know some people out there will say it is maybe inappropriate to say too soon for a man who is in his 70s, but it is too soon. But Maher raised the possibility that other media may have caused King to decide the time was right to hang it up, which King denied. Maher specifically named The New York Times, which has speculated on the departure on King over the past few years : MAHER: I hope you’re — I hope you’re doing this of your own volition and not because of what the media says. KING: It has nothing to do with it. There was no pressure from CNN. I don’t pay attention to that, I love what I do. But it was time, Bill. It was time. It was just time. I will tell you — MAHER: As long as it is coming from, and not dictated by The New York Times or anybody else. KING: Not at all. MAHER: OK. Over past two years, King has struggled in the ratings behind his cable competition, Fox News Channel’s “Hannity” and MSNBC’s “The Rachel Maddow Show.”

Bill Maher Goes Out with Another Conspiracy: ‘We Need a War All the Time So We Can…Buy Oil’

Catching up from Friday night, on the last Real Time with Bill Maher until September, Maher insisted “I’m not trying to be a conspiracy theorist,” but then proceeded to assert the Defense Department “uses more oil than anywhere else to kill people in the Middle East to get fuel to fight wars,” so “I do think there’s something — just the way the pharmaceutical companies sometimes come up with a pill before they come up with the disease — I think maybe we need a war all the time so we can wear out equipment and buy oil.” Maher’s claim came during a one-on-one with far-left film director Oliver Stone, who is producing a ten-hour documentary for Showtime, Secret History of America, about how, as Maher agreed, “America always does seem to need an enemy.” When Stone maintained the Cold War was fueled by an exaggerated fear of communism, Maher jumped in: “I’d like to blame it on oil.” He expounded: The United States Defense Department is the largest procurer of oil in the world, it uses more oil than anywhere else to kill people in the Middle East to get fuel to fight wars. It’s sort of a cycle of life thing. Now, I’m not trying to be a conspiracy theorist. But I do think there’s something — just the way the pharmaceutical companies sometimes come up with a pill before they come up with the disease — I think maybe we need a war all the time so we can wear out equipment and buy oil. Three weeks earlier, on the May 21 program, Maher offered this great insight into the Gulf of Mexico oil leak: Do you think BP could end this oil gushing out of the ocean if they just blew up the well and tapped it and they are not doing so because there’s still money to be made from the oil coming out of the well? Remember these the next time a MSNBC lefty derides a conservative for some “crazy” belief.
