Mack Maine Charged With Sexual Assault on Fan, Punching Woman in Face

Rapper Mack Maine has been charged with sexually assaulting a female fan and then punching her (female) friend in the face, according to police. Officials believe that the 31-year-old rapper invited Rachel Reed and Cailey Maddox onto a tour bus on August 22, and things got criminally inappropriate. While on the bus, Maine “put his hand down Rachel’s dress and grabbed her right breast” without her consent, at least according to court documents. The legal complaint states that after this happened, “Rachel got upset and when she and Cailey tried to leave the bus, but [Maine] held the door shut.” “Once the door was opened, Cailey was walking down the steps but turned and looked back to call for Rachel and [Mack] punched her in the face.” Hard. According to the complaint, the alleged attack by the Rick Ross and Lil Wayne collaborator resulted in him “breaking her jaw and knocking her down.” No word on when Mack is due in court .

Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter IV Shows ‘Three Different Sides’

Weezy wrote tracks for the LP before, during and after his 2010 jail bid, Young Money President Mack Maine tells MTV News. By Rob Markman Lil Wayne Photo: Clinton Gilders/ FilmMagic It’s finally here, but the road to Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter IV was no cakewalk. It’s been a long journey, and according to Young Money President Mack Maine, Weezy F. conceptualized C4 in three stages: pre-prison, in-prison and post-prison. “He did the ‘Blunt Blowin’ joint as soon as he got out. He actually wrote that one while he was in Rikers,” Mack Maine told MTV News of the second track on Tha Carter IV. “But he also did ‘So Special’ and he did ‘She Will’ when he came home, which the ladies are gonna love. So that was kinda like the difference.” The first mentions of the LP came nearly three years ago in September 2008 when it was said that Wayne began recording the album . Instead of following up on his Carter series right after the third installment, Weezy switched gears and dropped his We Are Young Money label compilation album in December 2009 and then his rocked-out Rebirth LP and I Am Not a Human being in 2010 while he was serving an eight-month prison bid. Wayne was released in November 2010 , and a month later, he dropped the first official C4 single, “6 Foot 7 Foot,” featuring Cory Gunz. In March came the Rick Ross-assisted street single “John.” After releasing a pair of rap-centric tracks, things got much more rhythmic with the album’s third single, “How to Love,” and “She Will” with Drake. “I don’t think he would’ve did “She Will” or “So Special” right before he went in,” Mack said of two of Tha Carter IV ‘s more female-friendly tracks. “That wasn’t where his mind was at, but all in all, you got some of Wayne before he went in, you actually got some of Wayne while he was in there, and you got some when he came out. So you got three different sides of Wayne.” Related Artists Lil Wayne Mack Maine

Young Money President Mack Maine Plans New Label

Still-untitled imprint will be under the Cash Money umbrella. By Rob Markman Mack Maine Photo: Alexander Tamargo/ Getty Images Birdman ‘s Cash Money and Lil Wayne ‘s Young Money labels haven’t been shy about signing new talent and releasing music. After dropping debut albums from both Drake and Nicki Minaj in 2010, YMCMB have artists Tyga, Lil Twist, Cory Gunz, Mack Maine, Jae Millz, Gudda Gudda and R&B alternative singer Shanell all waiting to drop LPs. Add already-established acts such as Birdman, Bow Wow and Lil Wayne to the mix, and it’s easy to see how some artists on the roster can get lost in the shuffle. Well, Young Money president Mack Maine has a plan to ensure fans see a steady flow of Cash Money-helmed releases. “You know how Roc-A-Fella had State Property; I’m actually in the process of starting a new label … a sub-label, basically,” Mack said of the still-untitled imprint that he will head under the Cash Money umbrella. Wayne is scheduled to drop Tha Carter IV on June 21, and there are plans for Birdman’s fifth solo album, Bigger Than Life , to follow in July. And, that isn’t all: According to the YM prez, Tyga will be dropping Careless World this year, Lil Twist will be putting out his first effort, Don’t Get it Twisted , and Drake is readying his sophomore LP, Take Care . “[Drake] let me hear 10 songs the other night — 10 bangers he’s working,” Mack said. “Drake’s coming in September, just know that.” Not to be left out, Mack himself also will be releasing an album this summer. With at least six projects already on the proposed schedule, the New Orleans rapper/executive said adding a third label to the YMCM structure will help facilitate the flow of releases. “I want to make sure I put a few people out through that vessel instead of putting everybody out under the same label, which is hard,” he said. “But we’re all one big family.” Which Young Money Cash Money project are you most excited for? Nicki Minaj, Drake Set To Shoot ‘Moment 4 Life’ Video

Young Money president Mack Maine tells MTV News clique aims to film clip for Pink Friday track in December. By Hillary Crosley, with reporting by Sway Calloway Nicki Minaj Photo: Taylor Hill/ Getty Images Nicki Minaj recently experienced something few new artists can claim: seeing your debut earn the #2 spot on the Billboard albums chart. The Queens native’s Pink Friday LP sold a little more than 375,000 copies in its first week of release, falling just behind Kanye West’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Now the MC is prepping the video for Friday ‘s “Moment 4 Life,” which features Young Money labelmate Drake. “She’s shooting hopefully on December 20,” Young Money president Mack Maine told MTV News. “We’re still trying to work out the date for the next video with [Nicki] and Drake for the ‘Moment 4 Life’ video. That’s the next project.” We also spoke to the Young Money head about Nicki’s success and what it has meant to the Miami-by-way-of-New Orleans clan. “It was [a special moment], especially with her being a female in this day and time too,” Maine said. “Also, people don’t know that I was a big factor in making sure that Nicki got signed with us and also just sticking with her through ups and downs. “Just to see her go from a seed being planted to a … forest, just a beautiful flawless forest … the world recognizes. Big ups to Nicki, she worked hard,” he continued. “She represents the female gender, and she basically delivered. There were a lot of odds against her and she defeated all of that and, for her to deliver like that, I gotta say congratulations.” True to form, when news of her sales reached the animated MC , she was overcome, Maine recalled. “She was excited. We talked about it and her emotion was crazy,” Maine said. “She basically shed tears, tears of joy. I have to congratulate her and say thank you to all of the fans that supported — without them we wouldn’t be anything. … She wouldn’t be anything.” Are you excited that “Moment 4 Life” is Nicki’s next single?
