Kylie Jenner BLASTED by Fans Over Racy Makeup Names

Now that Kylie has welcomed baby Stormi Webster into the world, she’s once again back to business as usual on social media. And that means plugging her makeup. But the makeup mogul’s new line of blushes are receiving a lot of outraged reactions. It turns out that Kylie’s names for the makeup, targeted at very young teens, is wildly inappropriate. Before she even became pregnant or turned twenty (which she did in that order), Kylie built a powerful makeup empire. It started, mostly with her lip kits. We all know that makeup is expensive and how powerful the Kardashian brand is, but few would have expected for Kylie to blossom into a titan of industry practically overnight. Today, Kylie Cosmetics is worth so much that it’ll make your head spin — and is projected to be worth one billion dollars within just a few short years. But not even Kylie’s juggernaut of a brand, undaunted by her months of social media solitude during her pregnancy, is immune to criticism from fans. And they were horrified to see Kylie’s new blushes. Particularly, their names. See if you can spot what so many fans found so troubling about Kylie’s new blush names. A number of Kylie’s fans found those names and others very objectionable. “When you have millions of teenage fans who look up to you, what do you name your new blushers? ‘Virginity’ ‘Barely legal’ and ‘X-rated’ of course.” Considering that Kylie was dating Tyga, a grown man and a father, when she was just 17 … Barely Legal seems to be in especially poor taste. “Really? @KylieJenner. You literally couldn’t think of ANY other names to give them?” Users bring up that many of Kylie’s most impressionable fans are still in middle school and figuring out who they want to be. “Seriously @KylieJenner, choose better names for your products. You have 12+ year old fans! ‘Barely Legal,’ ‘Virginity.’” The choices that tweets and young teens make about how they view sex and sexuality should be theirs to make, not because of the influence of a 20-year-old mom. One outspoken critic decided to go right for the jugular. “Kylie Jenner decided to name her cheap blushes with an even cheaper names.” Kylie’s brushes for her products have notoriously been the subject of complaints by many people who say that the brushes are poor quality and absolutely not worth the price. “All 14 yr Olds moms will be racing to buy virginity, hot n bothered & barely legal.” Well, that’s a little hyperbolic. Naturally, Tyga, who Kris Jenner says is not Kylie’s baby daddy , came up again. “Seems they’re named after her life, underage dating a 20 something dad.” They’re still bringing him up even though Kylie’s moved on to a different no-name rapper who is several years older than she is. Come on, folks. Keep up. Still others continued to excoriate Kylie over this. “Kylies new blushes which are aimed to her tween/teen market, are called HOT AND BOTHERED- X RATED-VIRGINITY-BARELY LEGAL.” Again, sexuality is fine, but these tweeters take issue with Kylie’s young and impressionable target audience. “[What the hell] is wrong with her?” Kylie’s an adult and a mother, now. They feel that she’s supposed to have a better sense of responsibility. “Seems she’s getting desperate for [attention] & any way to get her name out there, even at the expense of her young fans is ok. Disgusted.” Those are some valid points — and, honestly, the line “barely legal” has only gotten creepier with time. But let’s play devil’s advocate for a moment. Kylie is trying to sell a product. Not only does she need to draw attention to it (outrage is free advertising, folks), but she wants to sell it to her target audience. A lot of people buying Kylie’s makeup are going to want to feel more empowered and more sexual. (And hey, more power to them) After a certain age, plenty of girls stop wanting to buy makeup that’s called Rainbow Stardust or whatever. That’s a normal stage in development. So maybe Kylie’s secret to success gets her some hate on social media. It’ll still help her where it counts — and that’s in her bank account. Remember that Kylie is a mother herself … which means that she’s earning for two . View Slideshow: Kylie Jenner Gives Birth, Reveals Shocking Pregnancy Secrets & Photos

LET’S MAKEUP: Andra Day’s 2018 Grammys Makeup Look

See the original post here:

Source: Jamie McCarthy / Getty Andra Day stole the show at the 2018 Grammys with a refreshing spin on her vintage look. Ever since she first stepped out on the scene, the soulful songstress has had a fashion and beauty look that has set her apart from her counterparts, only solidified by her powerhouse voice. If there’s one thing we can always expect from Day, it’s old-Hollywood/vixen glam with a spin. Never too much, never too busy. Source: John Shearer / Getty Rocking a classic ‘70s beehive hairstyle and a pink and red Victoria Hayes tuxedo gown, Day’s sultry and sophisticated makeup look for the Grammys gave us all the feels. Not only was her makeup identical to her outfit, but she also showed us that sometimes, more is more! A delightful spin on her everyday makeup getup, Day’s look really is for the girl ready to tackle a night out on the town and isn’t afraid to play with color. Her makeup was done by celebrity makeup by Porsche Cooper . Here’s how you can recreate her look right at home: GLITTERY LIDS Day is quite known for her exaggerated cat-eye; this time, she nixed the heavy liner and instead created a wing with a lilac-purple glittery eyeshadow. Start your eye off with a purple base so your glitter won’t shift and move throughout the day (or night). NYX ’s “Purple Velvet” is not only inexpensive ( nyxcosmetics.com , $4.50) , but also just creamy enough to keep the lid moisturized without tugging or pull. Then top it off with Stila Cosmetics’ liquid eyeshadow “Into the Blue” ( Dermstore.com , $24), being sure to pat the product onto your eye and not drag it. For more of a purple frost like Andra’s, you can pat Mac’s “ Beautiful Iris ” ( Ulta.com ,  $16) onto your crease, slowly working your way up into a cat eye with an exaggerated wing. Be sure to finish it off with lining your bottom lash line with a lighter purple/pink tone (Sephora’s “ Lilac Shimmer ” is a great and inexpensive option) and using a lengthening mascara to make the eyes appear more awake. A RED LIP FOR ALL SKIN TONES  Day’s look shows us that you can have a bold eye and lip look without total clashing, and what woman doesn’t feel like a total #boss in a universally flattering red lip? To achieve the vixen glam, you’ll want to overline your top and bottom lips to create more fullness, either with a red lip liner to create a light ombré effect or with the lipstick itself. Of course, Fenty Beauty’s “ Stunna ”( Sephora.com , $24) is our lippie of choice, offering a beautiful soft matte finish while leaving the lips plump and not dry. Go big or go home! RELATED:  TRIED IT: #TeamBeautiful Tests Out Rihanna’s Stunna Lip Paint Alternatively, you can also rock Maybelline’s “ Red Revival ”, awesome on budget retailing at only $7.50 or the cult-favorite, MAC’s “ Ruby Woo ” ( maccosmetics.com , $17.50) with a light clear gloss layered on top. For any lipstick, you’ll want to start at the inner corners of your mouth and in slow strokes draw the product down and around to create the shape you’d like. For extra hold, pat your lips once with a paper towel to remove excess product and then add a second layer–it’ll stick to the first and give you a longer wearing red. Catelynn Lowell: Doing Well in Rehab with Help From Tyler Baltierra!

Catelynn Lowell has been through many, many things so far in her life. Her father hasn't been around all that much, her mother was emotionally abusive when she was younger, and it's clear that she really struggled with her decision to place her daughter, Carly, for adoption. In addition to all of that, or perhaps because of it, she's had issues with depression and anxiety for much of her life. Last year, things had gotten so bad with her postpartum depression that she went off to spend a few weeks in an inpatient facility to try to get a handle on things. And a couple of weeks ago, she revealed that she'd once again be heading off to get treatment. Is she doing any better now? Read on to find out … 1. Catelynn’s Struggles In November, Catelynn shocked us all by tweeting “Well today I thought of every way to kill myself.. so I’m going to treatment.” Teen Mom fans know she struggles with her mental health, but we had no idea things had gotten this bad again. 2. So Sad She further shocked us in an official statement she released, one that read “I’m taking the time I need right now to take good care of myself… On November 17th I thought of every way possible to commit suicide… from wrapping a belt around my neck to just running my car into an electric pole… THANK GOD I have a support system and a HUSBAND and a DAUGHTER… thank god I am self aware… I’m seeking treatment and I WILL get better… anyone feeling alone you ARE NOT ALONE! This world needs all of us! We are all here for a reason… Thank you for your support during this tough time…. Much Love, Catelynn Baltierra.” 3. Off to Rehab So Tyler escorted her to a treatment center in Arizona to get a handle on things … and speaking of Tyler, can we gush about him for a moment? 4. Oh, Tyler … He and Catelynn have been together since middle school, which is insane. Through the years, they’ve grown together and supported each other through so much, and it’s obvious that he’s being strong for her now. 5. Incredibly Proud He tweeted that message after Catelynn revealed her plans to enter rehab … so sweet, right? 6. Love You More Shortly after that, he shared this darling little snippet of some text messages between the two of them. View Slideshow

Travis Scott Turns to Kanye For Advice on Handling Crazy Kylie Jenner, Pregnancy

As the entire world is well aware,  Kylie Jenner is pregnant  with Travis Scott’s baby. While the makeup mogul is dealing with hormones, a rapidly changing body, and the realities of her impending motherhood, Travis Scott is dealing with … Kylie.  And apparently Travis has grown so desperate that he’s turning to  Kanye West , of all people, for advice. Let’s look at things from what we imagine to be Travis Scott’s perspective, for a moment. Say that you’re a twenty-something D-list (at best) rapper. You’ve been dating a girl for a couple of months. She’s several years younger than you are — just a teenager, in fact, though she’s an adult. You also know that you’re her rebound, after she spent the last two years in an off-and-on relationship with a man even older (and worse at rapping) than you are. Now imagine that she tells you that,  surprise , she’s pregnant! Maybe you don’t know how it happened, or maybe you know  exactly  how it did. Also imagine that your now pregnant girlfriend is one of the most famous teens on the planet. That, despite this, she wants to keep her condition a secret for as long as possible. Now imagine that, not long after your pregnant girlfriend’s 20th birthday, the entire world finds out about her pregnancy … but she still insists on keeping things quiet, refusing to confirm her pregnancy even though it is no longer a secret. And then imagine that she’s started to, well, go nuts.  Not only is she resigned to  hide until her baby is born , but she’s started to become wildly insecure about her body, believing that  pregnancy is making her  so  ugly . Her hormones are making her emotions erratic and extreme and you don’t know how to deal with it. You can’t talk about it with just anyone or it might leak. The entire world knows that you knocked her up, so even if you wanted to, you can’t leave her. (Besides, you’ve just impregnated a famously wealthy family’s soon-to-be wealthiest member . When you snare the goose that lays golden eggs, you don’t run off because it got a little cranky) What do you do? HollywoodLife  reports that  Travis Scott is asking Kanye West for advice  on how to deal with Kylie’s pregnancy hormones. According to their insider: “Travis has been getting advice from Kanye on the best way to help Kylie get through this, basically how to handle her pregnancy hormones.” We’d love to hear how that conversation went. “Hey, not-quite-brother-in-law … did Kim also go nuts with North and Saint? Any advice?” Or something. Seriously. It’s a sensitive subject. And if less-than-understanding phrasing got back to Kylie, it might set her off. The insider continues: “Kim’s pregnancies were both very tough and Kanye struggled at first to say and do the right things.” Sometimes, you have to walk on eggshells. Pregnant bodies are effectively hijacked by the placenta, and the placenta only cares about producing a healthy human. It doesn’t feel that it owes the mother anything. Not even mercy. We wouldn’t normally think of Kanye as a source of advice … for anything. This is a guy who voluntarily posed side-by-side with Donald Trump, folks. Things don’t go well for Trump’s friends — just ask Michael Flynn. But the insider says that Kanye was able to provide a very solid piece of advice. “Kanye’s big piece of advice for Travis was that no matter where he is in the world Kylie needs his attention, and it has to be reliable.” That’s good for anyone who’s dealing with an excessively needy partner, whether they’re pregnant or donating eggs or dealing with a sudden loss. (If anybody acts that needy and erratic wit hout those great excuses, though … our advice would be that they’re being unfair to their partners. Pregnancy is not the same thing, though) Advice on how to survive your baby mama’s pregnancy is one way to welcome a guy into the family. Kim Kardashian: Huh? Kanye West is Black?!?

Kim Kardashian has a very simple explanation for why she dressed as Aaliyah for Halloween this year. In a lengthy note on her website, the reality star says she meant no offense by wearing an ensemble that invoked the late R&B singer because she didn’t even realize Aaliyah was African-American. Kardashian came under pretty harsh fire this week for channeling Aaliyah, who tragically died in a plane crash back in 2002. A lot of the criticism centered on the concept of cultural appropriation and how some critics thought Kim wasn’t respecting Aaliyah’s ethnicity… … she was just exploiting it instead for her own self-serving purposes. The backfire stemmed from a video Kim shared on Instagram last Sunday in which she donned a glimmering bra and large rhinestone choker, including with the footage a caption that simply read: “Baby Girl Aaliyah.” Wrote one Twitter user in angry response: “Legend or not Aaliyah is a black woman and you’re not. It’s offensive and you shouldn’t push this limit.” In our view, it was stranger that Kardashian dressed up as a dead singer (something she actually did TWICE this week ) than it was she dressed up as a person of color. Except in certain circumstances, it’s just weird to use something as awful as a fatal plane crash as the basis for your Halloween costume. But here is how Kim defended her decision. “When I was deciding what I wanted to be for Halloween this year, I had a lot of ideas that I narrowed down to musical icons and my second costume was Aaliyah,” Kardashian wrote on her website yesterday, adding: “The look was inspired by what she wore in her ‘Try Again’ music video. “I wore a custom bra top and J Brand leather pants. Ariel Tejada did my makeup and Chris Appleton did my hair.” Continued the mother of two: “Aaliyah was such an amazing singer and she will forever be a music legend. “I saw online that some people thought my costume was in poor taste and I am truly sorry if that offended anyone.” When Kim thinks of Aaliyah, she says she only thinks about her in the context of her impressive career and influence. “When I was creating the costume, I wasn’t dressing up as a race or culture but rather as a woman whom I will always admire. “I play every kind of genre of music in my home and I like for my kids to be exposed to many different artists.” View Slideshow: The Kardashians Confess: 15 Things You Didn’t Know About Us Last year, North West dressed up like Axl Rose. This year, Kourtney Kardashian dressed up like Michael Jackson . Kim referenced both of these costumes in her conclusion: “For me, it’s always about love and respect. I loved that Kourtney was Michael Jackson for one of her costumes, and that my son was Axl Rose. ” We don’t see color in my home. We were paying homage to people and artists we love and respect  it’s that simple!” Oh, Kim. You had us on your side until the end there. You don’t see color?!? Come on now. First, you actually joked with Jennifer Lawrence this week that you’re only attracted to black genitalia. Second, there’s nothing wrong with seeing color. The idea isn’t too ignore other ethnicities and cultures, it would actually be disrespectful to pretend they don’t exist. The idea is just to treat everyone equally and fairly and with respect. What do YOU make of this Kim Kardashian costume controversy, readers?

Bromance Heartbreak: Tyrese Isn’t Done Being Petty With Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson

Go here to see the original:

Source: J. Countess / Getty Tyrese has time this week. He’s serving up a nice slice of petty along with an explanation in his notorious essay format.  Yup, you know the format — when Tyrese argues in more than five sentences on Instagram. The actor took to the social media to explain his earlier rant against Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson . The former wrestler allegedly won’t hit Tyrese back about a possible The Fast and the Furious spinoff movie centered around The Rock’s character, Luke Hobbs. Apparently, if you don’t give Tyrese a call back about a major project, he’ll escalate things real quick. After calling Johnson out in the comment section of one of his pictures, Tyrese goes into details in a post of his own. “I have never and will never have a problem with this major movie star, he’s my brother… I repeat never,” Tyrese said. He then rants that didn’t like The Rock’s  Bay Watch  but he did like The Rock’s singing in Moana. He finally gets back on message, saying, “I’m simply trying to reach him cause he won’t call me back about this solo #HobbsMovie. I want you to shoot it just not right now cause the #Fast9 release date has already been announced and we can’t let our loyal fans #FastFamily or our loyal fast and furious FANS down on any level from pushing the date.” Tyrese puts even more of his business out there by saying he already had a great call with someone from The Rock’s production company. He argues that he’s making all this information public because he wants to continue doing business with folks in the Fast & Furious world.  “We do this on behalf of the families, the cast, the crew members who have been down and loyal to us for 15 years……Everyone matters……When we shoot we all eat, when we eat we show up as a FAMILY display our love, our funny stuff, our story lines and HEARTS in every frame.” You can read Tyrese’s essay below and let us know what you think.

Khloe Kardashian: I Have Some Regrets About My Family’s Show …

Khloe Kardashian’s opening up … just not about her plans to have a baby with Tristan Thompson . For the 10 year anniversary of Keeping Up With The Kardashians , Khloe is reflecting on her experiences over the last decade. And including her regrets. As it turns out, there are two things in particular that Khloe wishes that the show had never filmed anything about. For the 10 year anniversary of Keeping Up With The Kardashians ,  Khloe Kardashian penned an essay for Glamour that was long and very informal. (That’s not a dig — this post is also informal) She talks about how it all began. “At my mom’s house, we’d always have these big family dinners. Ryan Seacrest came to one and was like, ‘You guys are crazy. You need to be on TV.’ My mom and my sister Kim wanted to do the show, but Kourtney and I were really against it.” That really fits with their respective characters — in the past, anyway. Also, if you ever want to know who should shoulder the blame for the Kardashians, you have your answer. Ryan . “We were like, ‘No — we love our little life. We love what we’re doing.’ But Ryan said, ‘We need the whole family or nobody at all.’ So my mom kind of sold it to us as a great commercial for our stores. We were like, ‘Ugh, fine.’” Note that Kendall and Kylie, it sounds like, never even got a word in. At the beginning, Khloe says, she was a novice about being a reality star. “I’d still go to the Fantastic Sams across the street from my store a few times a week to get a blow-dry for $25. I did my own makeup.” That explains why she looked so much better on Law & Order: LA in her one little cameo appearance but so often wasn’t flattered by camera lighting elsewhere. If you’re going to be on TV, folks, you need to have your makeup done by a professional. (A lot of male politicians seem terrified at this prospect, but even they bite the bullet or the cameras will make a 50 year old man look like he’s at death’s door) “Occasionally I’ll catch an old episode and notice how we all talked in these baby voices. It’s crazy if you listen to it now. I think maybe we did it because we were nervous.” A lot of people use vocal fry when they speak, and it’s not out of nervousness. “We film six days a week, 12 to 18 hours a day, every single day.” Yeah, that’s a bonkers schedule. Though, to be fair, the family is worth hundreds of millions of dollars, so … most would say that it’s worth it. “When you compile that much footage into 13 or 14 44-minute episodes, you can find a lot of drama. Not every episode is juicy to us; it’s only juicy to the audience.” Recently, not that much has been juicy to audiences, either. But every now and then, the show surprises you. But now we get to Khloe’s regrets. “Things like Kim’s robbery or Caitlyn’s transition? That’s the kind of stuff we wish we had never filmed.” That makes a lot of sense. Filming things around what will hopefully be the single most traumatic incident in Kim’s life is … of questionable taste. A lot of people get filmed during or after major traumas (like after the destruction and death of Hurricane Harvey … or, soon, Hurricane Irma). Most people don’t voluntarily film themselves in the aftermath of trauma. Not that extensively, anyway. As for Caitlyn’s transition. … It was important for America to see a tremendously famous trans woman, despite the backlash. Caitlyn Jenner, as it turns out, is still a terrible role model. That’s why she gets confronted by more authentic trans activists who have been fighting for their rights a lot longer, and who don’t support politicians who oppose their rights. Khloe kind of exists in the celebrity bubble, though. Maybe she just meant that she wishes that they hadn’t given Caitlyn so much air time over the years. Currently, Caitlyn is somewhat estranged fromt he family — Cait and Kim Kardashian haven’t spoken in 9 months . Khloe’s meaning isn’t especially clear. Khloe also gets into how things aren’t planned. “We aren’t ever like, ‘Oooh! Let’s do this for season nine.’ This is our life, and these are the things that happen. And it’s funny — when we decide not to shoot things, people feel slighted. But when we film too much, they’re like, ‘Oh, you never should have filmed that.’ It’s a catch-22.” Reality storylines are generally based upon what’s actually happening, with a little dramatic flare sprinkled in and maybe a few “challenges” suggested by the producers to stir up some extra drama, if needed. What Khloe’s getting at with the catch-22 thing is that the Kardashians are a family that many people love to hate. There’s no winning in those circumstances. “When it comes to our drama, we are a large, blended family. If you put a microscope over any family for 10 years, you’re bound to find cracks in the foundation. That’s just the name of the game, and we’re strong enough to endure it.” That’s been their real key to success. Taking the hate and turning it into money.
