Breaking: Heath Ledger Won’t Appear in The Dark Knight Rises

Or anything else for that matter. According to THR , a rumor that Christopher Nolan was going to use footage of Heath Ledger’s performance from The Dark Knight in the film’s sequel is total bunk. “We’re not doing that,” said Nolan’s wife and producing partner Emma Thomas. Phew ! Good thing that’s settled. [ THR /Heat Vision ]

Finally, Michael Bay Makes the Victoria’s Secret/Transformers Mash-Up You’ve Been Waiting For

Just as you can believe Michael Bay when he says he hasn’t gone over-budget on Transformers 3 , you can bet the megadirector was counting every recession-era cent for his customary Victoria’s Secret holiday commercial, too. The new ad features some of the brand’s most hallowed models prancing around some the very Chicago locations Bay blew to hell this summer, with the occasional horse and/or opera house tossed in for variety. Read on for the mildly NSFW spot (and the making-of video, with images of the man at work).

At TIFF: History Class is in Session with Robert Redford’s Conspirator (Just Don’t Fall Asleep)

Behold the paradox of Robert Redford: Lauded as one of the most innovative, influential filmmaking advocates around, as a filmmaker he has acquired a reputation as a snooze and a scold. In turn, over the last decade especially, I have acquired a reciprocal Redford Reflex: When I heard that his as-yet-unacquired historical drama The Conspirator was screening at TIFF, I felt my eyelids droop ever so slightly, and my throat begin to dry. An independent project with a rich vein of history running through it could be double trouble or a revelation. Either way the Redford Reflex was in full effect; I knew my morning screening would require something large and violently caffeinated.

Tim Gunn Outs Taylor Momsen As ‘Pathetic’ Diva

Project Runway guru ( and friend to Movieline ) Tim Gunn is putting the “gossip” back in Gossip Girl . After filming a guest spot for the CW series recently, Gunn complained about 17-year-old Taylor Momsen, whom he shared a scene with. “What a diva!” he told E! News . “She was pathetic, she couldn’t remember her lines, and she didn’t even have that many. I thought to myself ‘why are we all being held hostage by this brat?” It gets better. As Momsen wasted precious crew time on her cell phone, Gunn rehearsed a hypothetical scolding. “I’d say, ‘You know young lady, there are hundreds of thousands of girls who are just as attractive and even smarter than you. Why are you acting like this show is a huge burden on you?'” [ E! ]

Watch the Trailer for the Book The Making of The Empire Strikes Back

In anticipation of the new book, The Making of The Empire Strikes Back (out October 12), Lucasfilm has done one of the things that Lucasfilm does best — create a trailer. Even when it comes to the more questionable chapters of the Star Wars saga, the trailers are fantastic, so why not release a trailer for the “making of” book celebrating the greatest chapter of them all, Empire ?

Marverlously Animated Illusionist Brings a Little Long-Gestating Magic to Toronto

Seven years in the actual assembly and about 50 more in the making, The Illusionist is a labor of love that achieves an increasingly rare phenomenon in feature animation: timelessness. Eager to brand their efforts with some new shiny technology or unparalleled verisimilitude, animators often turn to of-the-moment developments, and their films mark that moment as a result. And yet a growing number have either stuck with or retreated to a kind of slow animation, trusting story and style to carry the day.

Annalynne McCord Finally Sexes It Up A Little

It’s nice to see AnnaLynne McCord all dressed up for a change, I just finished bitching about how she’s always walking around doing nothing in street clothes so this is a nice treat. I’m not saying that she reads this crap and decided to wear something nice for me, although that would be awesome, but the timing is pretty good. Now I’d like to see her making out with Megan Fox in a hot tub… It’s worth a shot. more pictures of Annalynne McCord here
