The man pictured here with Malcolm Jamal Warner is the father of a bangin’ Black actress and the ex-husband of a Motown legend. Was that easy enough? Yup, that’s Tracee Ellis Ross’s dad Robert Ellis Silberstein, pictured at Essence Magazine’s celebration of Tracee as their latest covergirl. Here is again with Diana Ross’s eldest daughter Rhonda Ross Kendrick, who Robert adopted when he married Diana in 1971. Check out who else celebrated with Essence and Tracee below.
Garcelle Beauvais and Regina King were spotted shopping it up together for Vogue’s GAP 1969 event in Los Angeles yesterday. King brought her son Ian out with her (though we really would’ve loved to see her finally walk a red carpet with boyfriend Malcolm Jamal Warner). Kimberly Elise came out too rocking a natural look. The cast of “The Cosby Show” reunited last night at the TV Land Awards where they received the Impact Award from presenter Stevie Wonder. Bill Cosby, Phylicia Rashad, Tempestt Bledsoe, Sabrina LeBeauf, Keshia Knight Pulliam, Raven Symone and Malcolm-Jamal Warner all showed. “It means that not only are we still relevant today, we made some sort of a difference, and some sort of an impact 25 years ago,” Sabrina LeBeauf said of the award. Her on-screen husband Geoffrey Owens (who played Elvin) said, “I don’t see any show on now that impacts people in that way [that] family show [did]. I think it’s fair to say that, unfortunately, that’s a little bit of the past right now.” We are not at all surprised Lisa Bonet didn’t come, but it still would have been nice to see her. Malcolm X was born May 19, 1925. Assassinated on February 22, 1965. Near the end of his life, Malcolm called for all people to stand together against oppression and injustice. In the forty-five years since his assassination, it is evident that people are still struggling against oppression and injustices. I invite everyone to provide any sort of comments and content relative to Malcolm X, and/or how relative many of his messages are currently. added by: AJILIVIZION
