But when you’re Justin Bieber , you get shouts from Usher, Lil Wayne and Sean Kingston. Be jealous! On Thursday (March 1), the Biebs turned 18 years old, and his most famous of friends hooked up with MTV News to celebrate Bieber’s birthday . “I hope that you are around all of your loved ones and having a good time. This is from big bro, from the heart,” Usher said in a video piece compiled by MTV News for the Biebs. The Confessions singer initially signed Justin along with his manager Scooter Braun, and he has since become a mentor to the pop star. So of course the 33-year-old Usher had to impart some b-day wisdom on his young homey. “Eighteen will give you an opportunity to do a little bit, not all, so we got a few more years before you can go all the way,” he said, acknowledging the three years until JB turns 21 and is allowed to legally drink in the U.S. “Maybe I might even be able to sneak you into a club. Anyway dawg, happy birthday. I love you.” Comedian Kevin Hart isn’t buying all of Justin’s birthday hype, though. “Whatever Justin Bieber is supposed to be doing at 18, he was doing at 15,” he joked after sending his well wish. Platinum hitmakers RedFoo, B.o.B, Sean Kingston and Flo Rida all helped MTV News celebrate the occasion. Even Lil Wayne, who was with Bieber in the studio in February, sent a special message. “Happy Birthday, slime, the big one-eight. You in the club, slime,” Weezy said, standing beside Young Money’s Lil Chuckee. As far as birthday presents go, it’s anybody’s guess what his buddies will actually get Bieber. But Robin Thicke bypassed tradition and instead hit up the “Never Say Never” singer for a loan. “Send me some money, Justin. You got way too much,” he said, laughing. But what do you get the young man who has everything? MTV News looks back at singer’s extensive history with body art. By Jocelyn Vena Rihanna’s “Thug Life” tattoo Photo: Rihanna/Twitter Rihanna had everyone buzzing this week when she debuted a tattoo with the words “Thug Life” scrolled across her famous fingers. The flesh-colored ink was done up by Los Angeles tat artist Mark Mahoney at the Shamrock Social Club parlor in Hollywood. While the body art pays tribute to late rapper Tupac , it is certainly not the first time that Rihanna has gotten a tattoo. In fact, the singer is no novice. She’s already covered in ink, ranging from the sugary sweet to the more hard-core. She made headlines back in 2009 when she debuted a gun tattoo on her rib cage. Rihanna’s tattoo was scandalous as it came only months after her Grammy-night altercation with her ex, Chris Brown. “People are going to react all different ways,” tat artist BangBang explained to MTV News at the time, noting that it had been in the works long before the incident. “She’s great. She’s perfect. We had a blast, and we had a lot of fun.” BangBang and Rihanna have quite the history together when it comes to the many tats on her body. He is also responsible for the star tattoos on her back, the Roman numerals on her shoulder and the word “Shhh … ” on her finger. But Rihanna hasn’t stopped there. She has also been branded with a musical note on her ankle, a Pisces sign behind her right ear, the word “love” on her middle finger and a tribal tattoo on her hand. She reportedly has the birthday of her manager Melissa Forde written in Roman numerals on her shoulder: XI-IV-LXXXVI. As an homage to her perfume line she also has the French words for rebellious flower, “rebelle fleur,” on her neck. The singer also has a Sanatana Dharma Sanskrit prayer on her right hip. Reportedly misspelled, the phrase was supposed to mean “forgiveness, honesty, suppression and control,” but actually ends up meaning “long suffering, truthfulness, self-restraint, inward calm, fear and fearlessness.” On her rib cage, she also has the Arabic phrase “Al Hurria fi Al Maseeh,” which means “Freedom in God.” Proving to be some sort of billboard for sage advice, she also has the motto “Never a Failure, Always a Lesson” scrolled across her collarbone. Other Ri tats include a star in her ear and a skull and cross bone on her ankle. In fact, Rihanna loves tattoos so much that in July 2009, she was spotted giving BangBang a tattoo at New York’s East Side Ink, where he works. Owner Yadira said at the time, “We had a blast. It was so funny and cute.” When BangBang spoke to MTV News in 2009, he added this philosophy when it comes to tatting the singer: “You don’t want to be staring at tats. I want to say thank you for sending me off to this job every day with a hug and kiss,” she gushed in her Jason Wu gown. “I couldn’t have done it otherwise. You kept me so excited to come home at night and for suffering through six months of bedtime stories where the princesses were read out loud in a Marilyn Monroe sounding voice. “I could go on and on,” she continued, thanking everyone from producer Harvey Weinstein to her longtime pal and former “Dawson’s” co-star Busy Phillips, adding, “I wish I could go on and on; there’s so many people to thank. At the Golden Globes on Sunday night (January 15), the pop star-turned-film director nabbed the Best Original Song prize for “Masterpiece,” which was featured in “W.E.,” which she wrote and directed . Taking the stage in her glittering Reem Acra-designed dress, Madge thanked the many collaborators who helped her write the song featured in her first feature film, which opens in wide release next month. “This is a surprise,” she told the room, clutching her prize. “Thank you so much to the Hollywood Foreign Press for this acknowledgement. I need to thank my co-writers, Jimmy Harry and Julie Frost, my co-producer William Orbit, who’s not here, whom I adore.” As her speech went on, she opened up a bit about the creation of the award-winning track, ignoring her exit music altogether. “I would also like to thank my manager, Guy Oseary, who I spend most of my time beating up on,” she said. “But seriously, he harangued me for the entire time I was filming and editing my movie to write a song. And I said, ‘Please, Guy, I’m trying to focus on being a director and I want people to pay attention to the film and I don’t have time.’ So then I finished the film and I started making my record and somehow magically and miraculously the song emerged, ‘Masterpiece,’ so thank you, Guy Oseary, for being so irritating.” As her speech wrapped up, she thanked her leading lady in the film, Andrea Riseborough, and producer Harvey Weinstein, whom she called the Punisher. This is hardly Madonna’s first Golden Globe. We’re sure that it won’t take too long for it to become pretty obvious to Tami’s former manager that he wants no part of her. In a radio interview today, Tami spoke up about the allegations that she owes this Jerry character money for hooking her up with her gig on Basketball Wives … and she sounds to us like she’s confident that she can back up every last word she’s saying about it. It’s true. He had been my manager for about maybe 8 years. Yes, we had a long relationship and it had always been an amicable up until this moment. Our particular situation was you know I pay people based on what you do and that had always been our understanding and our agreement. You know if you send me out on an audition and I book that job I’m going to pay your commission. If I initiate employment for myself, you’re not going to get commission on that because you weren’t involved in it. So that had always been our understanding and that had always worked for the past 8 years. With “Basketball Wives,” they approached me when they did their first season. They contacted him and you know I just wasn’t really ready to go on a show, talk about Kenny. You know I had moved so past that. In addition to, I really didn’t want to go back to the reality genre. So between the year that they had their first season and the second season which is when I actually came onto the show, my family fell on a hardship I actually introduced that on the show. Jerry placed another call on my behalf to Shed Media, which is the production company for our show and I started having communication and dialogue with the executive producer, telling them my story. They liked my story- I was on Season 2. Now for the payment that I received for Season 2, Jerry Silverhardt was compensated. And that’s what he’s not admitting to. When it came to-we didn’t even know we were going to get a Season 3-so we did the reunion and we got the announcement we were going to do a Season 3. As I wasn’t happy with my contract for Season 2, I didn’t feel that he did the best job for me in that moment considering everything I was going through and you know what the value of my storyline that I brought to Season 2, I terminated him before we started negotiating contract for Season 3. She also brought up an interesting fact about the lawsuit itself: this Jerry character filed his lawsuit in 2010… So why wait until now to bring it to the attention of the media? Here is an underground sources tell: It is a known fact that major artist steal a great majority of their swag and style from young tastemakers and stylish teens. The video was co-directed, styled, art directed and edited by the artist David Sabastian himself! Sabastian has been a tastemaker and innovator in the LA fashion scene since he was sixteen yrs old.
