Nick Cannon to Recur on Brooklyn Nine-Nine

Nick Cannon may or may not be getting a divorce from Mariah Carey . But the actor is definitely headed to Brooklyn Nine-Nine! The America’s Got Talent host will appear on multiple episodes of the Fox comedy as Marcus, the “handsome, educated and charming” nephew of Andre Braugher’s Captain Holt. Cannon will debut in December as a character who just moved to New York City and who will be staying with his uncle until he gets settled.  Brooklyn Nine-Nine airs Sunday nights on Fox and is anchored by Andy Samberg as Detective Jake Peralta. He won a Golden Globe for that goofy role earlier this year. Stephanie Beatriz, Melissa Fumero, Terry Crews and Jo Lo Truglio also star on the sitcom. Cannon, who Carey insists cheated on her , is set to join a Season 2 guest star list that also includes Kyra Sedgwick, Eva Longoria, Craig Robinson, Patton Oswalt, Terrell Owens, Stephen Root, and Sandra Bernhard. Via MailOnline : She separated from Nick Cannon, her husband of six years, in August. Now Mariah Carey has asked her longtime pal Nas to help find her a new man, according to Us Weekly on Wednesday. An insider told the publication the 44-year-old ‘texted Nas, wondering if he had any friends she could go out with — or even just hook up with. But Nas is nervous to introduce her to anyone.’ Mariah is a longtime friend of the 41-year-old rapper, whose real name is Nasir bin Olu Dara Jones. The pair collaborated on the song Dedicated on her new album Me. I Am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuse. They are so close that last year it was rumored that she and the Nasty star were having an affair, something Nick laughed off in an interview with Howard Stern in April. The America’s Got Talent host told the shock jock: ‘Nas is a friend of mine, he’s a friend of hers. She went to his birthday party, and I think it was in L.A. ‘We actually talked about this before. It’d be very difficult to make me jealous.’ Hmm…wonder how jealous he’s getting now? Which of Nas’ buds do you think he’ll link her up with once he shakes his nerves about the situation??

Nick Cannon is almost definitely getting a divorce from Mariah Carey . But the America’s Got Talent host is just now coupling up with Amber Rose. In a professional sense, that is. As confirmed by Cannon’s rep, Rose is now “a client under Nick’s NCredible Entertainment Management Team,” with TMZ reporting that Rose will soon anchor her very own TV series. The show will be based around the fashion industry in some way, shape or form, though no other details (network, premiere date, etc.) have been released. Rose, who used to be repped by Ford Models, will also author an upcoming book. Rose and Cannon have been close for awhile. They hung out together back in July during a taping of BET’s 106 and Park TV show in New York City. But while this is a coup for Cannon in his occupational universe, it’s life at home continues to unravel. The television host wants “another chance” with Carey as his wife, but “Mariah has started the divorce process,” an insider tells E! News. “She’s getting all her ducks in a row.” Earlier this month, Cannon slammed the bottom-feeding media for writing false reports regarding things he had allegedly said, along with the state of his marriage. He may host America’s Got Talent, but Nick Cannon’s got a bone to pick with the celebrity gossip world at the moment. A couple weeks ago, amidst speculation over the future of his marriage to Mariah Carey, Cannon supposedly acknowledged “trouble in paradise” and said the two stars had been living apart for months. This public reveal allegedly led to a devastated and angry Mariah Carey , who sources say was peeved that her estranged husband leaked personal information to the press. There have been many rumored causes of the Mariah Carey-Nick Cannon split , but throughout it all, reps for both parties have denied there was any infidelity involved. That may be the case, but a new report suggests that Mariah certainly suspected Nick of sleeping around. It’s already been rumored that Mariah hired a security team to prevent Nick from flirting with other women, and now it seems her suspicions and insecurities only got worse as her marriage began to fall apart.  “She would send her assistants to spy on him during tapings of America’s Got Talent in New York City,” a source close to the couple tells Radar Online. The insider adds that the spying continued even after the couple had separated, and Carey frequently harassed Cannon by phone: “She would send her assistants to spy on him during tapings of America’s Got Talent in New York City…It was just sad to see because Nick used to brag about how amazing his wife was to everyone on set.” Cannon was apparently one of the last to realize that Mariah’s suspicions had gotten out of control. Ariana Grande has only been an A-list pop star for a few months, but she’s reportedly already developed certain diva-like habits. Insiders say Ariana insists on being photographed on her left side, she has insanely specific hair and makeup demands, and even instructs production crews on what sort of light they should use when they film her. It all brings to mind another famously demanding pop princess – but don’t dare compare Ariana to Mariah Carey. Yes, before  Mariah’s split with Nick Cannon began making tabloid headlines, the iconic songstress earned the contempt of Ariana fans following reports that she’d thrown subtle shade at Grande during an interview. Asked about Ariana in a radio interview, Mariah first replied, “Who?” before adding, “I wish everyone the best of luck and if this is the career path they choose, I wish them longevity.” Many took it as Mariah’s way of suggesting that Ariana is a flash in the pan. First MiMi, now this? Nick Cannon Denied Highly Coveted Richard Pryor Role Mr. Cannon is just losing right and left these days. Apparently Nick wanted the role of Richard Pryor in his upcoming biopic so badly that he changed his appearance and habits to mimic those of the late comedic genius, just to prove to casting directors exactly how serious he was. Unfortunately, none of his tactics worked and Mike Epps was chosen instead …only weeks after he announced his split from Mariah . SMH. Via DailyMail : First his marriage to Mariah Carey fell apart and now, after months of campaigning, Nick Cannon has lost the lead in an upcoming movie about his idol Richard Pryor. The biopic’s director Lee Daniels announced that Mike Epps, 43, and not Nick, 33, will be playing the late comedian in an instagram posted on Saturday. Daniels shared a smiling photo of his stars Epps and Oprah Winfrey – who will portray Pryor’s grandmother Marie Carter – that was certain to send an arrow to Nick’s heart. ‘And we’re off… Get ready y’all for #richardpryor @eppsie @oprah,’ Daniels tweeted. Nick had been very vocal about wanting to play Pryor, who died in 2005 following a heart attack, and even convinced the late stand-up comic’s son that he was right for the part. Nick was in talks to play Richard in the upcoming film, but Richard Jr. also voiced his concern over the America’s Got Talent host’s ability to do the role justice. However, the late comedian’s son had a change of heart after he spoke to Nick on the phone, as PageSix.com reported. ‘I am actually very excited about it now. He changed my mind by how he is delving into it,’ Richard Jr. said. ‘He did the small thing of using his left hand instead of his right hand, he picked up smoking to try and emulate my dad, he’s let his hair grow out. ‘He’s looking into who my dad really was, looking into his childhood, who he was raised by and around, and he is interested in talking to me about who my dad was.’ Wow…we never heard anything about Mike Epps preparing this hard for the role. Damn, homie. We’re pretty sure Nick Cannon is ready for 2014 to be over at this point.
