Justin Bieber Paternity Suit Dropped?

Less than two weeks after a California woman claimed that the “Baby” singer had fathered a child with her last year following a brief backstage tryst, TMZ is reporting that lawyers for accuser Mariah Yeater quietly dropped the suit last week. In fact, the gossip site is adding that not only has the paternity case been withdrawn, but lawyers Lance Rogers and Matt Pare have quit representing Yeater entirely. Bieber’s camp had vigorously denied the claim from the moment Yeater launched the paternity action earlier this month. Yeater claimed in a signed affidavit in the suit that she had unprotected sex with Bieber last October in a backstage area at one of the singer’s concerts at Los Angeles’ Staples Center and that her four-month-old baby is his. Last week, Bieber’s camp confirmed that the 17-year-old singer would take a paternity test as soon as he returns from a European promotional jaunt in celebration of his just-released Christmas album, Under the Mistletoe . “I can confirm that the team has proactively made arrangements for Justin to be tested upon his return and we’re going to hold everyone who is involved responsible,” Bieber spokesperson Matthew Hiltzik said in a statement. “It’s sad that someone would fabricate malicious, defamatory, and demonstrably false claims,” Hiltzik added. “We’ll vigorously pursue all available legal remedies to protect Justin and to hold those involved with bringing this suit accountable for their actions.” It is unclear if Bieber’s camp will still pursue a lawsuit over the bogus claims. It would be very easy to dismiss Snooki as a national joke. And we will. The self-styled “guidette” warns there’s more than meets the eye, though. “I know and that’s my secret. No one knows that I’m smart,” Snooki says. “I am going to start filming a spin-off with Jenni [Farley] soon and I want to have my own business and have my own brand. Be sure of yourself, don’t let anyone bully you, be an independent, strong woman or boy.” Words to live by. Confessing that she was bullied in high school, Snooki, who is now a bestselling author with her book Confessions of a Guidette , got the last laugh. “Oh yeah, and now I am a strong woman! The new season of Jersey Shore starts January 5, and we are back in Seaside and back in the normalness,” she adds. “Not all the drama like in Italy. I’d rather be home at the Jersey Shore .” Wouldn’t we all. To celebrate her return, Snooki has launched a new fragrance that smells just like the Jersey Shore – cigarettes, booze and kooka. Just kidding. Probably. “There’s a little kiwi in it … there’s beach flower, like tanning lotion, and assorted woods like the boardwalk,” she says. Delightful. Just like her.

But it no longer has Piers Morgan as a reality show judge. “I’m leaving America’s Got Talent after 6 wonderful years,” Morgan Tweeted last night, following an announcement on his CNN talk show.“Turned out that juggling’s harder than it looks, so I’m going to focus on CNN.” Morgan went on to thank “NBC, Fremantle, and of course, my friend Simon Cowell, for giving me such a great opportunity. It’s been a blast.” No word yet on who might replace this panelist, but first chime in: Will you miss Piers Morgan on America’s Got Talent ?

Here we go again: A pregnant reality star who dated Mel Gibson briefly during the summer is telling friends that the actor is the father of her unborn baby. Laura Bellizzi, 35, and Gibson, 55, denied the claim when contacted for comment, and a source close to Gibson insists that it’s “physically impossible.” Unless Mel got “fixed” after the Oksana Grigorieva debacle, we’re not sure what that means. In any case, he says it’s not true. Radar says otherwise . A supposedly close insider says that Laura Bellizzi has already confided to friends that Mel is the baby daddy, but does not want the big news to go public. “Laura’s being as secretive as she can be about it,” the source said. “But she’s really showing now, and people are beginning to ask: ‘Who’s the daddy?’” The well-placed source says Laura, who appeared on VH1’s Secrets of Aspen in 2010, is more than four months pregnant. She and Mel dated this summer. “Laura and Mel met through mutual friends in Malibu; the chemistry was instant,” a source said. A family member says the baby has “a famous father.” Mel has seven kids with his estranged wife, Robyn Moore, and a daughter, Lucia, from his relationship with Russian pianist/singer/gold digger Grigorieva. As Mariah Yeater proved, you can’t believe every baby mama coming out of the woodwork. Although in Mel’s case, it clearly wouldn’t be the first time.

Theophilus London Goes ‘Super-Emo’ On ‘Breaking Dawn’ Soundtrack

By Jocelyn Vena Theophilus London Photo: MTV News The soundtrack for “Breaking Dawn – Part 1” drops this week, 10 days before the fourth film in the “Twilight Saga” hits theaters. Chock-full of tracks by artists like Bruno Mars (“It Will Rain”) and Christina Perri (“A Thousand Years”) , the emotions on the album mirror the action the Bill Condon-directed flick. For his track, up-and-coming MC Theophilus London wanted to embrace another side of his musical persona. “It was very unusual to do the soundtrack. But as I progress more with my career, I want to do more stuff like that, soundtrack stuff,” he told MTV News at the Glamour Women of the Year event in New York City. “So when they asked me do it, I was very privileged and pleased. I wanted to do a super-emo song about neighbors and how neighbors are very important. A lot of people are freaking out, but it’s a whole new fanbase for me. I’m just so stoked that all these cute girls that like vampires hear my song.” London wrote the track specifically for the flick, which opens November 18, however, he admitted that he hasn’t even seen a moment of any “Twilight” flick. “I wrote the song specifically for the movie without even seeing the movie,” he explained. “I’m happy. I’m sure a lot of musicians and writers want to be a part of the soundtrack. I’m just happy that I got picked over all those other acts. I appreciate it and there’s a lot more to come.” Don’t fret, Twilighters. Justin Bieber Will Take Paternity Test In Two Weeks

Benett/Getty Images As soon as Justin Bieber returns from a European promotional jaunt in two weeks he will take a paternity test to prove that he did not father a child with a fan who has claimed the pair had a backstage tryst. Bieber’s spokesperson, Matthew Hiltzik, confirmed for MTV News that the test has been scheduled. “I can confirm that the team has proactively made arrangements for Justin to be tested upon his return and we’re going to hold everyone who is involved responsible.” Bieber, 17, has denied that he is the father of accuser Mariah Yeater’s four-month-old child and his team has promised legal action following the results of the test. “It’s sad that someone would fabricate malicious, defamatory, and demonstrably false claims,” Hiltzik said in a statement. “We’ll vigorously pursue all available legal remedies to protect Justin and to hold those involved with bringing this suit accountable for their actions.” Bieber — who was a big winner at the MTV Europe Music Awards on Sunday night with wins for Best Pop and Best Male — appeared on the “Today” show on Friday to promote his just-released Christmas album, Under the Mistletoe, and addressed the situation. “I’d just like to say, basically, that none of those allegations are true,” he told Matt Lauer. “I know I’m going to be a target, but I’m never going to be a victim.” Bieber explained on “Today” that the logistics of her claim don’t fit with his hectic schedule. “I think it’s crazy because every night after the show, I’ve gone right from the stage right to my car,” he explained. “So it’s crazy that some people want to make up some false allegations, but to set the record straight, none of it is true. Never met the woman.” It was also reported last week that the incident could spark a statutory rape investigation by Los Angeles police because the woman was 19 years old at the time and Bieber was allegedly 16. After he returns to the U.S. on November 17, Bieber will visit “Today” again on November 23 to perform a concert on the morning show. Why? The minute he finishes a show, he promptly makes his way from the stage to an awaiting car, so there’s no time for backstage trysts. Cobra Starship frontman Gabe Saporta, Bieber’s onetime tourmate , confirmed the teen star’s story. “It wouldn’t even be possible for her to get backstage,” he told MTV News on the red carpet at the Glamour Women of the Year event in New York on Monday. “The security is so crazy there, you can’t get backstage. And even if you got backstage, first of all, he leaves the show as soon as he’s offstage, which is pretty cool. He runs offstage, gets in a car and jets, because the whole city turns into chaos.” Before the My World Tour wrapped up last month, the band experienced that craziness firsthand, likening it to something straight out of the movies. “There’s a really cool video of us online get mobbed at the airport,” Saporta recalled. “It’s like zombie apocalypse; it’s awesome.” Speaking of awesome, 2011 has been a pretty great year for Cobra Starship. Their infectious, Sabi-featuring track “You Make Me Feel” has been burning up radio, but that Bieber tour is pretty much the highlight of the year for Saporta. “We were playing, like, 50,000-people stadiums,” Saporta said of the South American jaunt. “It was insane, and I’m from South America too, so for me, it was especially satisfying. I gotta say, for being the most famous kid in the universe, he’s remarkably well-adjusted, and … there’s like 75 people traveling with him. Michael Jackson Family Cheers Conrad Murray Verdict

Michael Jackson’s family members were understandably thrilled by Monday’s guilty verdict against Dr. Conrad Murray , feeling that justice was finally served. Throughout the doctor’s six-week involuntary manslaughter trial, his brothers and sisters always felt his presence. Now they can take some solace in a victory. MJ’s family cried, shouted and finally gave a sigh of relief – literally, in the case of La Toya Jackson, heard in the video below – after the judgment was read. Dr. Conrad Murray Verdict Reading “He was in the courtroom and that’s why victory was served,” La Toya told CNN Headline News while leaving the courthouse through a swarm of reporters. Added his other, less ridiculous sister Rebbie: “I’m just happy it’s over with. Nothing will bring him back, but I’m just happy (Dr. Murray) was found guilty.” Jackson’s mother Katherine quietly dabbed tears, then went home to tell Michael’s kids the verdict. As she did throughout the trial, she did not allow them to attend nor watch on TV, but provided them first-hand updates herself every day. “We have been waiting for this moment for a very long time, and we couldn’t hold back tears in the courtroom,” Katherine, 81, told TMZ in a brief statement.
