As has been well documented over the past several weeks, all is not calm, cool or even collected within the Sister Wives universe. There’s a whole lot of in-fighting taking place between the Browns. There was that whole catfishing scandal surrounding Meri, which prompted rumors that she would split from Kody … … which was followed by talk that Kody ad Robyn may be done for good. But while the relationship between Kody and his four better halves may have seen better days, there’s one connection in this reality star’s life that is as strong as ever: The bond between Kody and daughter Mariah. Yes, even in the face of a bombshell dropped by Mariah on last week’s installment of Sister Wives. But we still weren’t sure how Mariah’s famous family members were going to react. On last night’s episode, Kody admitted that he was “in a state of shock processing” everything that Mariah said about her sexuality, which included the following admission: “It’s always been there – it’s always been something I pushed away because I was scared. I think my biggest fear has always been to be gay. “So I didn’t let myself accept it because it was wrong – I was told [by members of the church] that it was wrong and that I would be a bad person.” Said Kody at one point: “We’re not happy Mariah’s gay; we’re happy Mariah knows herself.” He then went into more detail on Twitter. “A surprise to me. Required some deep thought,” Kody wrote of his reaction to the news. “After checking to see if she was sure, I just needed her to know she was safe.” The reality star added that The Big Man Upstairs made acceptance a lot easier. “God has prepared my heart and mind for 15 years. Now @mariahlian can feel safe being openly gay with our family.” Later on in the evening, Kody credited Charles Dickens for helping to open his mind, while also saying it’s sad that some of his “gay friends lose their religion.” He supposedly told one to start his own “church fellowship.” Say what you want about Kody Brown (we certainly have) and his unusual family dynamic. But he appears to have struggled with his daughter’s sexuality, eventually realizing that she’s happy with who she is and that’s all that matters. So some credit must be given to Brown for arriving at that conclusion. Kylie Jenner closed out 2016 with a revealing bathroom selfie . It was nothing fans of the reality star haven’t seen before, really. But Forbes has now released a revealing list that ought to make jaws drop to the floor faster and harder than any close-up of Kylie’s cleavage ever could. According to that publication’s annual 30 Under 30 list, Kylie is the second-richest member of her family, behind only half-sister Kim Kardashian . The youngest person on this list, Jenner reportedly earned about $18 million last year. She’s only 19 years old. That’s approximately $1 million for every year she’s been alive! “The reality TV star’s Kylie Cosmetics line has gone from strength to strength, with each incarnation of her $29 lip kits selling out upon release,” Forbes writes of Jenner, adding: “Sources close to the teenager suggest the glosses did seven figures in revenues in 2016 alone. Jenner also puts her name to an apparel line, alongside model sister Kendall.” She has her foot in multiple industries, that’s for sure. And it apparently makes no difference to Kylie’s bottom line if the Better Business Bureau gives her company an atrocious rating . Back in July, we learned that the company had racked up nearly 140 customer complaints on that website in the nine months since it opened for business. Then, just this week, we learned that Kylie’s official 2017 calendar got her own birthday wrong. For real. It lists Jenner’s birthday as August 10, when it is actually on August 20. But whatever, apparently. Jenner has over 82.6 million Instagram followers and they are clearly loyal to the teenager, even if she does promote subpar products. “Forbes 30 under 30 .. Mariah Carey is finally taking responsibility for her debacle of a performance on New Year’s Eve. Kind of. Sort of. Okay, maybe not responsibility , exactly. But the singer has opened up extensively about the embarrassing “concert” in Times Square over this past weekend.. and at least she isn’t supporting allegations that she was sabotaged. By now, you probably are familiar with what transpired on Saturday night/Sunday morning: As the featured artist on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest , Carey took to the stage and immediately experienced technical difficulties. She messed with her earpiece. She couldn’t hear the background music. She planned to lip sync, but had no way of matching up her mouth to the lyrics. So she basically gave up, yammering away on stage and saying she would simply turn over the job of singing to the “audience” at one point. Carey Tweeted “Sh-t happens” shortly after this so-called performance went viral, which likely would have been enough. The story would have pretty much died if that had been it. But then members of her team tried to blame the incident on Dick Clark Productions, arguing that Carey was set up to fail by producers. Why didn’t the program cut to commercial once the technical difficulties became obvious , the singer’s rep argued? Because it wanted to milk her breakdown for ratings , Mariah’s camp has said. In response to this assertion, the production company fired back that it had “no involvement in the challenges associated with Ms. Carey’s New Year’s Eve performance.” So… yeah. It’s been a pretty giant mess all around. Even if Mariah’s boobs did look terrific during the Times Square humiliation: Now, however, Carey has spoken to Entertainment Weekly, walking the fine line between owning up to her lack of preparation and blaming others for what happened. “All I can say is Dick Clark was an incredible person and I was lucky enough to work with him when I first started in the music business,” Carey tells EW , adding: “I’m of the opinion that Dick Clark would not have let an artist go through that and he would have been as mortified as I was in real time.” Oooookay. That seems like quite the random point to make. Carey is basically throwing shade at producers for not helping rescue her from the situation on stage, without going so far as to accuse them of anything under-handed. Mariah goes on to say she’ll continue to do live events, but will be “less trusting of anyone outside my team.” (That said, Entertainment Tonight has learned that the singer is no longer working with her longtime creative director and tour choreographer/dancer, Anthony Burrell.) Yes, according to a new report, Jennifer Lopez and Drake are official . Officially a load of BS, that is! Over the last few weeks, rumors of a romance between the superstars have run rampant because… well… because Lopez and Drake have clearly wanted rumors of a romance between them to run rampant. Toward the end of December, the singers shared a photo of each other on social media, with Drake arms firmly around J. Lo’s scorching hot body. It was the sort of picture people only pose for when they’ve already seen each other naked, basically. Right? Check it out below and dare to disagree: A few days later, Lopez and Drake were once again spotted getting very cozy and awfully comfortable with each other. This time around, the viral photos were snapped at some kind of winter-themed “prom” that the artists didn’t merely attend… but won Prom King and Queen at! Kind of weird, no? Sort of suspicious even, perhaps? Absolutely, claims an anonymous source to The New York Post. Speaking to the Page Six section of that newspaper, this source says the so-called promo pictures (above and down below) were actually taken on the set of Lopez and Drake’s upcoming music video. The two are collaborating professionally and nothing more. “This relationship is fake, it is just a publicity stunt to publicize their record together,” the insider alleges, adding: “If Jennifer and Drake were really dating, they’d be way more private about it.” How come? Since when do a pair of A-Listers get together and not flaunt their romance for the world to see? The article basically says that any actual dalliance with Lopez would be terrible PR for Drake, considering he poured his heart out in August at the MTV Video Music Awards. Which is true: Upon presenting Rihanna with a lifetime achievement award at that event, Drake said he’s been “in love” with Rihanna” since he was 22 years old. He added: “She’s one of my best friends in the world. All my adult life, I’ve looked up to her, even though she’s younger than me.” Asked this Page Six source: “Doesn’t Drake realize that it looks weird to declare his love for RiRi at the MTV awards, then start flaunting his chemistry with J.Lo a few months later?” Apparently not.” If the relationship between Drake and Lopez is, indeed, fake, the stars have managed to fool at least one person: Rihanna! She stopped following Lopez across all social media platforms shortly after talk of her fling with Drake went viral. Lopez, meanwhile, broke up with Casper Smart last summer summer and some were led to believe that she rekindled her relationship with ex-husband Marc Anthony after the two shared a kiss November 17 on stage at the Latin Grammy Awards. But that was just a friendly peck. Lopez is most definitely available if she and Drake wanted to get it on. But it’s starting to seem more and more likely in this case that the two are remaining mum on their relationship for a very good reason: It doesn’t actually exist.
