When authorities found Aaron Hernandez dead inside his prison cell at Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center in Lancaster, Massachusetts, it initially seemed like an open-and-shut case. Hernandez had recently been acquitted of double homicide, but was still facing life behind bars for the 2013 murder of Odin Lloyd. Sources close to Hernandez claimed that though the outcome of the trial was likely to have little impact on his time behind bars, it was important to the former New England Patriots tight end to ensure that he was cleared of any connection to the murders of Safiro Furtado and Daniel de Abreu. Having lived to see himself cleared of charges, the story went, Hernandez saw no reason to go on living. But as more information about Hernandez’s final days public, a different picture began to emerge. For one thing, his attorneys reported that his acquittal in the Furtado-Abreu murders gave Hernandez hope that his appeal of the Odin charges would be successful. However, there were also rumors that Hernandez was experiencing profound emotional duress due to the nature of his life behind bars. Prison sources indicated that the 27-year-old had become distraught in recent weeks due to an alleged romantic relationship with a fellow inmate named Kyle Kennedy . Insiders say Hernandez requested that he and Kennedy be permitted to share a cell, and became distraught when his request was denied. Attorneys for Hernandez have denied that their client was romantically involved, but Kennedy spent more than a week on suicide watch after Hernandez’s death. Today, Kennedy spoke out for the first time about Hernandez’s death, and while he did not confirm that he and the former NFL standout were romantically involved, Kennedy did make it clear that they shared a close emotional bond: “I miss my friend Aaron Hernandez,” said the 22-year-old in a statement issued to Radar Online. “I’d like to send my condolences to his fiancée, his mother and his daughter.” Kennedy, who is no longer on suicide watch, is serving a sentence for armed robbery. Yesterday, we learned the sad news that Happy Days and Joanie Loves Chachi star Erin Moran had passed away at the age of 56. Speculation about the cause of Erin Moran’s death has been rampant, but early on, there was not much in the way of definitive news. That may have just changed. The actress was fed through a gastrointestinal tube, or GI tube, at home with her mother-in-law, according to the coroner’s office. Moran had been receiving treatment for Stage 4 cancer, with the tube in her throat to keep her alive during her tragic final days. The source of this detail asked to remain anonymous pending further details to be released by the Harrison County Sheriff’s Dept. However, they said the coroner found a GI tube during the examination, as well as “ample” evidence that Moran succumbed to Stage 4 cancer . The specific type of cancer was not immediately clear. “It was indicative when they did the autopsy that she was receiving medical care,” the source tells People, which reported the story. A GI tube is usually inserted into the stomach by a physician to provide vital nutrients to patients who cannot feed themselves. It can also be used to reverse the process, removing fluids from a person’s body when a patient is unable to perform the task. The Sheriff’s office said the investigation is ongoing: “Standard toxicology tests were performed and results are pending, however no illegal narcotics were found at the residence.” “There were no illicit substances or anything to suggest foul play,” however, officials conducting the investigation reiterated. If true, this would contradict earlier reports and speculation that Moran, who battled addiction for years, died of an overdose. One of those who fueled that theory was her Joanie Loves Chachi co-star himself, Scott Baio, who spoke out in the wake of her death. Baio appeared on the Bernie & Sid radio show today and wound up weighing in on the subject in a manner he may later regret. Asked how he’s holding up, Scott says he’s not surprised she died : “I’m OK, a little shocked but not completely shocked that this happened.” “My thing is … I feel bad because her whole life, she was troubled, she could never find what made her happy and content.” “For me, you do drugs or drink, you’re gonna die.” Baio then tried to walk back that comment somewhat, saying, “I’m sorry if that’s cold, but God gave you a brain, gave you the will to live and thrive.” “You gotta take care of yourself,” he added. “I’m saddened by what happened. I don’t know if it was drugs that killed her, I read one report said it might have been and I hope …” “I don’t know what I hope. It’s what it is.” Moran was troubled by substance abuse issues throughout her life, that much is not in doubt; Baio may have jumped the gun, though. Erin was pronounced dead Saturday at the trailer Moran shared in rural New Salisbury, Indiana, with her husband’s mother. “To my knowledge, they had their own room,” the source said. Last week, the world was shocked to learn that former New England Patriots tight end and convicted murderer Aaron Hernandez was found dead in his prison cell after having apparently taken his own life. As details of the 27-year-old’s final moments emerged, it became clear that the tragic incident might forever be surrounded in mystery. Authorities confirmed that Hernandez scrawled a Bible passage on his forehead in red ink and used the same ink to create the appearance of wounds on his hands and feet in apparent reference to the crucifixion of Christ. The Bible in his cell lay open to the chapter and verse written on his forehead, and tucked inside the pages were three separate suicide notes: One was addressed to Hernandez’s former fiancee, another to his 4-year-old daughter, and a third to a fellow inmate. It’s been widely reported that the inmate was Hernandez’s gay lover . Details about the convict were slow to emerge, but today, Radar Online is i dentifying him as Kyle Kennedy , a 22-year-old Massachusetts man serving a sentence on armed robbery charges. The contents of the letters remain unknown, but those familiar with the situation say there’s little doubt that Hernandez and Kennedy were involved in a romantic relationship. Insiders add that prior to his death, Hernandez transferred ownership of a $50,000 watch to Kennedy as a gift for when he’s released from prison. Kennedy has reportedly been on suicide watch ever since the night when Hernandez’s body was found. Kennedy has been in prison since January of 2015, when he was arrested after robbing a gas station cashier with a knife. The revelation that Hernandez may have been bisexual sheds new light on the details of his murder conviction. Throughout the trial, a Hernandez associate named Ernest Wallace claimed that Hernandez’s victim, Odin Lloyd, repeatedly taunted the athlete with gay slurs and threatened to out him. Wallace says he believes it was Hernandez’s fear of being exposed as bisexual that motivated him to take Lloyd’s life. We may never find out for certain what motivated Hernandez to murder Lloyd and then take his own life. The reporter – who had been serving as lifestyle anchor for Good Morning America Weekend and also as a correspondent for ABC News – has officially signed on as the latest panelist on The View. She will make her debut this September as the newest member of an ever-rotating cast of occasionally funny characters. Earlier this month, Whoopi Goldberg signed a new deal to remain lead emcee of the program, which will also bring back Joy Behar and Paula Faris. Michelle Collins only lasted one year on the series, while it’s unclear at the moment whether Raven-Symoné or Candace Cameron-Bure will be retained. So, what do we know about Sara Haines? She was born and raised in Newton, Iowa and she’s the second of four kids. A 2000 graduate of Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts, Haines has a degree in Government and actually played both basketball and volleyball for the school. Haines kicked off her reporting career as part of NBC’s Page Program, eventually becoming Today’s fourth hour contributing correspondent, a role she departed in 2013. This is when she joined ABC. They are definitely together, but that’s not what has people talking. The timing of Chris Evans and Jenny Slate’s coupling is being called into question, considering it happened right before Slate announced a separation from her husband of four years, Dean Fleischer-Camp. Sources tell Star Magazine that Evans and Slate started getting cozy on the set of 2017’s Gifted , and they did a poor job of hiding it. “Jenny’s feelings for Chris seemed to evolve quickly to more than just platonic,” a set insider told the tabloid. “Some people even said they felt bad for Jenny’s husband the one time he visited the set. She didn’t seem too enthusiastic about Dean being there, and he probably sensed the chemistry between his wife and Chris.” Fleisher-Camp directed and co-wrote Slate’s hugely famous short, Marcel The Shell With Shoes On . A source told Us Weekly that the couple drifted apart towards the end of their marriage, made all the more obvious by her chemistry with Evans, a fellow Massachusetts native. “It certainly has the appearance of Chris and Jenny’s relationship having contributed to her marriage crumbling – and I’m sure Jenny would just like to sweep it under the rug,” another source told Star .
