Carmelo Anthony lost his cool after Boston Celtics bigmouth Kevin Garnett reportedly said his wife “tastes like Honey Nut Cheerios” — a dig at Anthony, who is estranged from his bangin’ wife, leading some to think they are heading to Splitsville soon! Via NY Daily News reports: The NBA superstars nearly came to blows Monday night after Garnett incorporated the General Mills cereal in a fit of trash talking about reality TV-star La La Anthony. “Your… wife tastes like Honey Nut Cheerios,” Garnett told Anthony in a heated Eastern Conference game at Madison Square Garden, according to the website Black Sports Online. Garnett’s slight came off as offensive and tasteless to Melo, who is having marital problems, a source told the Daily News. Garnett and Anthony had to be separated on court and both were hit with technical fouls. But the insult left Anthony so upset he sought out Garnett after the 102-96 Knicks loss, apparently to settle the score. An infuriated Anthony yelled at Garnett outside the Celtics’ locker room immediately after the game. He then tried to confront Garnett later as the Celtics were boarding their team bus to leave the Garden. Anthony and his wife have been living apart for at least two months , and La La rang in the New Year without him in Miami’s South Beach, the source said. “Getting ready to shut down Miami TONIGHT. Happy New Year!” La La tweeted from South Beach on New Year’s Eve. Anthony refused Tuesday to confirm what Garnett said to set him off, but he acknowledged that the caustic Celtic “crossed the line.” On her Twitter account, the Brooklyn-raised La La, 33, was asked about Garnett’s trash talk by fans, but she refused to take the bait. “Living life. Counting blessings, not burdens,” said La La, star of the VH1 reality show “La La’s Full Court Life.” La La attended Monday night’s game, her first after a noticeable absence from the Garden. Last season, La La attended nearly every home game and even traveled on the road to watch the team play. Todd Akin may have just met his match in Tom Smith, another Republican U.S. Senate candidate who made controversial remarks about rape this week. Smith, who was ironically trying to distance himself from the Todd Akin legitimate rape controversy, likened pregnancy from rape to any conception outside marriage. The Pennsylvanian said that while he condemns Akin’s comment, he agrees that abortion should be banned without exceptions, including for rape. Asked how he would handle a daughter or granddaughter getting pregnant as a result of rape, Smith said he had already “lived something similar to that.”
Another one bites the dust… Swiss Olympic Soccer Player Sent Home After Racist Tweets About South Koreans Less than one week after after a female Greek Olympian was dismissed from the games, Swiss Soccer Player Michel Morganella was sent packing for racial slurs he used in a tweet after a loss to the South Korean team. Translated from French, Morganella’s tweet said he wanted to beat up South Koreans, that they should “burn” and that they were a “bunch of mongoloids.” Last week, Greek triple jumper Voula Papachristou, a right-wing political supporter, was expelled by Greek athletic officials after she mocked African immigrants. Offensive remarks are in breach of the International Olympic Committee’s code of ethics. In Morganella’s case, he “discriminated against, insulted and violated the dignity” of the South Korean team, as well as the nation’s citizens, Swiss committee chief Gian Gilli said Monday in a statement at a news conference. Morganella later apologized through a statement released by Gilli: The 23-year-old player later released a contrite statement through Swiss Olympic. “I am sincerely sorry for the people of South Korea, for the players, but equally for the Swiss delegation and Swiss football in general. It’s clear that I’m accepting the consequences”. “After the disappointing result and the reaction from Korea that followed, I made a huge error,” Morganella added. Serena Williams got another one! Serena Williams fended off a stirring fightback from Agnieszka Radwanska to win her fifth Wimbledon singles title with a 6-1 5-7 6-2 victory Saturday. It was the 30-year-old American’s 14th grand slam crown and her first since winning at the All England Club in 2010, but Poland’s Radwanska made her fight every inch of the way. Suffering from a respiratory problem and trailing after a one-sided first set, Radwanska recovered from a break down in the second to give Williams a real Centre Court scare. After leveling at one set all, Radwanska took a 2-1 lead in the decider before Williams romped to victory with a run of five straight games. She celebrated by climbing into the stands to embrace her sister Venus and other close connections. Williams spent almost a year on the sidelines, being struck by first injury then serious illness after being laid low by dangerous blood clots. A visibly emotional Williams showed how much victory meant to her in her post-match interview. “I can’t describe it. I almost didn’t make it a few years ago. I was in hospital and I thought I’d never be here again, so this makes it so worth it,” she said. “It’s all the sweeter. I was so down but you never give up. You have to continue,” she added. Williams has capped her steady return to the top with an emphatic performance on the grass courts, particularly since the quarterfinals where she dispatched reigning champion Petra Kvitova. British police are investigating David Nalbandian for injuring a linesman while kicking an advertising board during Sunday’s tennis final at Queen’s Club. Officials ruled that the Argentine had to default the match to Marin Cilic after smashing the sign – and the lineman’s legs behind it – with his right foot. Judge Andrew McDougal could be seen cringing in pain as the player sent part of the sign flying into his leg. Nalbandian was leading 7-6, 3-4 at the time but was forced to default the match. “Flaming Nipples” may sound like the name of an all-girl punk band or a drink you would order on a singles’ cruise, but that’s what we’ve taken to calling the deleted scenes from David Lynch ‘s surreal neo-noir Blue Velvet (1986) here at Skin Central. The scenes were taken from a work print presumed to be lost but recently unearthed at a Seattle movie theater, and while there are over 50 minutes of footage included on the Blu-ray disc (and now conveniently uploaded to YouTube ), this video comes conveniently front-loaded with the breast part- a scene where a topless stripper smokes and two more sway in quintessentially Lynch fashion while another lights her nipples on fire in the background. You know, the usual. How exactly did they get that effect? As the director says in his book Lynch on Lynch : “They take these paper matches and split ‘em apart and then lick them and put them on their nipples, so the match-head is sitting right there and you really can’t see the little bit of cardboard. It’s sitting right there, very close. It may come out a quarter inch, but it burns for a while and then you put them out. It just burns long enough for the cut. And so it moved pretty nicely, you know.” Looks like we’ve got a new trick for the Mr. Skin company Christmas party next year. Richard Dawson, the legendary host of Family Feud and a veteran film and TV actor, has died from complications due to esophageal cancer, according to his son. He was 79. Gary Dawson wrote on Facebook late Saturday: “It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that my father passed away this evening from complications due to esophageal cancer.” “He was surrounded by his family. He was an amazing talent, a loving husband, a great dad, and a doting grandfather. He will be missed but always remembered.” Dawson hosted Family Feud from 1976-1985 and 1994-1995. He was also famous for being a regular on The Match Game and in the film The Running Man .
