Vintage Circuit Boards Transformed Into Incredible Sculptures

Images via Wired We’ve seen our fair share of art made from circuit boards — even a Mona Lisa made of motherboards . But the sculptures by artist Theo Kamecke take the cake. Using the beauty often overlooked in patterns and colors of circuitry, he creates some gorgeous pieces worthy of galleries. And even though the raw material is very much man-made, Kamecke says it still conjures up the beauty we see in who… Read the full story on TreeHugger

A New Guzzler Made of Glass and Grass by Bamboo Bottle Company

All pix: Bamboo Bootle Company Is this what people have been clamoring for? A refillable glass bottle, protected by a sheath of fast growing, renewable bamboo. Vintage Wine Barrels Refashioned As Flooring: Fontenay Woods

Images: Fontenay Woods From bottles to corks , there’s a dizzying array of possibilities when it comes to reusing wine-related products, and now you can add reclaimed wine barrels to the list. Though some companies shave off the top layers in an attempt to reuse barrels, the wine-making quality of such barrels is not always consistent. Fibershed Project: The 150 Mile Wardrobe

Photo: Fibershed Three years ago we covered The Hundred Mile Suit , where 92% of a man’s outfit was created from materials and production sourced from a radius of 100 miles. The project’s designer, Kelly Cobb, said at the time: “If we worked on it for a year and a half, I think we could have eliminated that 8 percent.” Now, the Fibershed Project is experimenting with the concept once more, and they seem to taken on board Kelly’s hint, for they’ve widen their scope to fibres sourced from within 150 miles, and given the project a one year time-frame. But w… Read the full story on TreeHugger
