Has This Man Gone 70 Years Without Eating? Scientists Say Maybe So

Okay, here’s a weird one. You may remember the story of Prahlad Jani , an Indian yogi who claims that he hasn’t ever eaten or had a drink in the last 70 years. Well, scientists have just reportedly concluded a 15-day study in which they observed the man around the clock. And they’re entirely baffled — he didn’t eat, didn’t drink, didn’t urinate, and didn’t pass stool. What’s more, the researchers evidently conducted a number of tests, and found him to be “healthier than an average 40 year old.” The scientists are now hoping the man may help… Read the full story on TreeHugger

Greene Out, Roberts In for Scream 4?

EW is reporting that Emma Roberts is set to join Scream 4 in the lead role of Jill, the closest thing the sequel has to the original’s Sydney besides…well, Syd herself (the returning Neve Campbell). You may remember that Jill was the role first offered to Twilight’s Ashley Greene; perhaps they couldn’t come to terms, now that Greene and her other Twilight supporting players have sunk their teeth into seven-figure paychecks. Terrible Shrek-Themed Weddings are Coincidentally Happening Again, Right Now

You may remember how taunted we felt last year when, in a burst of total coincidence that came just as the Broadway musical Shrek just happened to be struggling, a whole bunch of people dressed up as the green ogre in public, including Regis Philbin and some wackadoos getting married across the Atlantic. Joss Whedon Tops Louis Letterier for Avengers Gig

It had been rumored for a little while, and now it looks like Joss Whedon is in negotiations to direct Marvel’s all-star team-up The Avengers . (You may remember Clash of the Titans helmer Louis Letterier was also on that shortlist .) The Buffy the Vampire Slayer just wrapped his last gig, directing an episode of Glee ; this will surely prove invaluable when Iron Man leads his fellow heroes in a rousing, Auto-Tuned group-sing of JoJo’s “Too Little Too Late.” [ Deadline ]
