Poor Billy Ray Cyrus. Not only is Miley’s dad under attack by Satan , but his plans to continually make headlines by throwing his daughter under the bus have been thwarted: Miley and her handlers have shot down Billy Ray’s scheduled interview on The View tomorrow. Billy Ray Cyrus vs. Miley Cyrus on The Pulse “She went nuts,” a family friend tells Pop Eater of Miley’s reaction to her dad sitting down with Barbara Walters and company. “Only last week, Billy shot his mouth off in GQ , and now he planned to sit down and talk more crap about his family. No way would Miley or her team let that happen.” Sources say Miley is furious over her father’s rant. She was even in denial over his claims and accusations. Until Billy Ray booked this PR opportunity, that is. “At first Miley defended her dad, wanting to believe he had been tricked into saying bad things by the magazine,” added the insider. “Miley truly wanted to give her father the benefit of the doubt, goodness knows she’s said things she wishes she could take back. But after she found out about his media trip to New York, no more excuses could be made.”

By Aly Semigran Scarlett Johansson Photo: Frazer Harrison/Getty Images With the countdown to the 83rd annual Academy Awards in its final phase (there’s just five days left until the big night), there’s still news coming out about the ceremony: It was announced Tuesday morning (February 22) that actress Scarlett Johansson and funny man Russell Brand will attend the 2011 Oscars as presenters. Johansson, who appeared in last year’s hit “Iron Man 2” and is currently filming Cameron Crowe’s upcoming “We Bought a Zoo,” has recently been the focus of the media attention due to her divorce from actor Ryan Reynolds. Meanwhile, Brand, who wed singer Katy Perry last year and stars in the upcoming “Arthur” reboot with Helen Mirren, tried out his own style of edgy comedy during his hosting stint on the MTV Video Music Awards in 2009 and just this month on “Saturday Night Live.” This will mark the first Oscar appearance for the “Get Him to the Greek” star, who joked on his Twitter page Tuesday, “I am presenting an Oscar. I shall also choose the recipient. At last my work as Aldous Snow will be honoured, for best actor-ing.” Brand and Johansson will join fellow A-list presenters Sandra Bullock (last year’s Best Actress recipient will hand out this year’s Best Actor trophy), Jeff Bridges (2010 Best Actor winner to hand out the Best Actress award), Oprah Winfrey, Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Robert Downey Jr., Hugh Jackman, Reese Witherspoon, Cate Blanchett and Marisa Tomei, as well as two of this year’s Best Actress nominees, Nicole Kidman and Annette Bening. The Academy Awards, which will be co-hosted by James Franco and Anne Hathaway, will air live from the Kodiak Theater in Hollywood at 8 p.m. ET Sunday on ABC. Ummmm…we thought the entire world already knew that Lindsay Lohan struggled with addiction: Dina Lohan embarked on a media blitz on Friday, opening up in a series of interviews about daughter Lindsay Lohan and what she says is her daughter’s “lifelong struggle with addiction.” Despite her continual legal issues, Dina feels that her 24-year-old daughter has turned a corner in her life. “Betty Ford was life changing for all of us. I mean, I’ve put her in a couple of rehabs over the years, and, you know, it’s not about the rehab, it’s about where she is personally in her sobriety and her growth. She’s matured considerably,” Dina told George Stephanopoulos on ABC’s “Good Morning America” on Friday. Dina revealed that she’s uncertain how Lindsay will fare against her felony grand theft charge, where she’s accused of stealing a necklace from a jewelry store. “I’m not convinced about anything because the system is the system. I’m a firm believer in the system, but anything can happen, especially in [Hollywood],” she said. In a separate interview with Chris Cuomo on “20/20,” airing Friday night, Dina said Lindsay is facing “a lifelong struggle with addiction,” but she believes her daughter no longer drinks. “I think she’s gonna be OK,” she said in the interview airing Friday at 10 PM on ABC. “She’s a young girl struggling. You know, she’s not perfect. … She’s learning as she goes, but she’s learning under a microscope, so I can’t even imagine how that is.” According to Dina, Lindsay’s problems began in 2004 when she moved to Los Angeles. “I knew early on, I just didn’t tell anyone about it. It was a personal situation,” she continued. “I saw it visually, what was happening. You know, I’m around my children. I was around Lindsay a lot, and I saw what was happening. I grabbed the bull by the horns and tried to get her help immediately.” Adding, “I never thought it would be this — the media would be so crazy. I really never thought it would get to this level. It’s been really hard on my family, harder than anything.” Source

Is Lindsay Lohan doubly screwed after being busted for grand theft? That’s a possibility, given that she was on probation anyway for her DUI, and that her probation standing was shaky even before her recent felony arrest. Lohan may avoid jail , but it’s far from a lock. Even if the grand theft charges were dropped completely, a judge could revoke Lindsay’s DUI probation. FUR REAL : LiLo could go to jail either way. [Photo: Pacific Coast News] The judge in the probation case can hold a hearing, sans jury, and has the sole power to decide if Lindsay ran afoul of her probation and take it away. In a criminal case, the D.A. must prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. In a probation violation case, the judge has all the power and more leeway. Sources connected with the D.A.’s office say prosecutors could ask for a year in jail if the judge decides Lindsay violated the terms of her probation. Chances are, there’s a case to be made that she has done so. Judge Elden Fox in Beverly Hills, who’s lost patience with Lohan and revoked her probation before, would be the one making the call too. Having just recovered from the presence of Jersey Shore , the good folks of The Sunshine State must next deal with The Real Housewives of Miami . We’re very sorry for them. The first season of this new Bravo franchise kicks off on February 22 and the cast members spoke to The Miami New Times this week about what we can expect. Read on for excerpts from the interview … Why did you sign on for this show? Lea Black : At the time I wasn’t sure. And now, I think its become a phenomenon. I think Bravo has created a pop culture phenomenon. At first, I had trepidations about it… It didn’t start out as a Housewives show. It kind evolved into one. And I guess, just live life and see what happens. Take your chances and go for it. What kind of drama can we expect? Lea: It’s going to be fun above the belt drama. I think that Bravo is a master at creating fabulous reality television. I think what they have done is take the best of everything, and make it fun, exciting, and upbeat. There is quite a bit of drama, but I wouldn’t say it’s hair pulling, table flipping drama. I would say it is a different type of drama. People will be fascinated by the characters. Compare yourselves to Jersey Shore. Alexia Echevarria : I mean, we have a completely different cast. The way we carry and behave ourselves is very different too, so I don’t think there is any similarities or comparisons when comparing our shows. Except for maybe we showcase Miami the same way they did – the fabulous places, mingling with different people. At the same time, we’re putting Miami in a completely different light and in a positive light. Are you afraid how your friends/family will be portrayed in the media? Marysol Patton : For me and my clients, it will be great. For my mom, she doesn’t go on the Internet or read weeklies, so I don’t think she will know what to expect.
