Dennis Farina Dies at 69

Dennis Farina, a veteran actor most recently seen on two episodes of New Girl , passed away today at the age of 69. The star’s publicist confirmed the news to The Associated Press and said his client died of a blood clot in his long while inside his Scottdale, Arizona home. Farina helped anchor such iconic films as Get Shorty , Snatch and Midnight Run . He also appeared on HBO’s Luck and stopped by the aforementioned Fox sitcom as Nick Miller’s dad. Farina has three adult children from his marriage to Patricia Farina, from whom he split in 1980. He also has two granddaughters and four grandsons. Our thoughts go out to his loved one and we’ll update this story with the cause of death when that information becomes available.

Chris Brown and Drake: Off the Hook For Nightclub Brawl

Chris Brown and Drake are both off the hook for the brawl they started last summer, meaning they now have more in common than just seeing Rihanna naked . The stars were sued for $16 million by Entertainment Enterprises, the parent company that represents the interests of Greenhouse nightclub in NYC. Greenhouse is adjacent to W.i.P nightclub, where Chris Brown and Drake ‘s entourages got into a HUGE bottle-throwing brawl over Rihanna last June. EE said its reputation sustained major damage following the ordeal because of its proximity to the rumble, and claims it cost them a lot of money. Drake responded to the lawsuit, saying it isn’t his problem because he can’t control how the media reports the incident, and he didn’t start it anyway. In fact, some reports said it was Meek Mill, not Drake, in the middle of it. A judge in the case took his side, saying that Drake (and Chris Brown) had no duty to the club to behave a certain way, and that brawls aren’t uncommon. EE can’t just sue whomever whenever a fight happens, basically. Others are still suing the club, however, for negligently allowing the fight to happen by merely letting Chris Brown and his violent streak inside the building. NBA star Tony Parker was one of those injured.

Another Uncle Tom . Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson Calls Trayvon Martin A Thug Trayvon was not a thug simply because he walked slowly down the street in a hoodie and was minding his own business. George Zimmerman is the thug because he followed Trayvon for no damn reason and shot him. According Fox News Reverend Jesse Lee Peterson expressed his extreme displeasure on CNN tonight over how the Trayvon Martin case has been covered in the media. He railed against “race hustlers” like Al Sharpton and told Piers Morgan the media is irresponsibly making Martin out to be some kind of “innocent little kid” instead of, in his opinion, being honest about Martin being a young thug. Peterson said that people like Sharpton and President Obama have only injected themselves into this case to “incite the anger of black Americans and others,” adding that they’ve been “using black Americans by dividing the races” and “intimidating white people to get more power.” Morgan asked Peterson if the outcome would have been the same if instead of Martin, it had been a young white man like Mark Zuckerberg in a hoodie. Peterson said it wouldn’t have mattered, and shot down the “absolute lie” that Martin was “some innocent little kid, tip-toeing through the tulips.” He declared, “Trayvon Martin was a thug. His parents know that, you know that, I know that.” It’s not only these tragic cases that hurt black people, but Uncle Toms like this who tear their communities down rather than build it up.
