Jordan Peele Makes Black History with Oscar Win

Follow this link:

It’s crazy to think that in 2018 we are still doing ‘first’ and making black history but we are.  That being said Jordan Peele made history by becoming the first African-American to win an Oscar for ‘Best Original Screen Play’ for ‘Get Out’ at the 90th annual Academy Awards. Although he didn’t take home any other Oscars due to being shut out by ‘The Shape of Water’ that didn’t stop Peele from making it a memorable night.  In his speech Peele revealed that this film almost didn’t happen because he didn’t believe that anybody would pick it up and that he stopped writing the screen play ‘about 20 times’.  Not only was this film picked up but it ended up grossing a massive $252,434,250 worldwide and becoming a cultural phenomenon. If somehow you missed this movie at the box office catch it on demand or rent it! [ione_media_gallery src=”https://mycolumbuspower.com” id=”3265559″ overlay=”true”]

Did Taraji P. Henson Shade Ryan Seacrest On The Oscars Red Carpet?

Go here to see the original:

Source: Axelle/Bauer-Griffin / Getty Ryan Seacrest has been under fire after recent sexual abuse allegations against him from his former stylist.  And E! was so worried about what might be said to Seacrest as he hosted the red carpet at the 90th Annual Academy Awards that they put the broadcast on a thirty-second delay just in case someone decided to say something out of line. But E! didn’t seem to catch what the internet thinks was shade from Taraji P. Henson to Seacrest when she stopped to do an interview with him.  Henson talked about how the universe always works things out with certain people and had some subtle body language along with her words to Seacrest. Update: Taraji P.Henson tells PEOPLE.com her comments were “misconstrued.” “I did it to keep his chin up. It’s an awkward position to be in. He’s been cleared but anyone can say anything,” she says. When asked point-blank whether she was supporting the E! host, Henson replied “absolutely.”   [ione_media_gallery src=”https://mycolumbuspower.com” id=”3265559″ overlay=”true”]

Iyanla Vanzant’s Advice For Tamar Braxton & Women Who Blame Their Friends For The Demise Of Their Relationships

View post:

Source: Leon Bennett / Getty Beloved soul stirrer and spirit healer  Iyanla Vanzant is gearing up for the new season of ‘Fix My Life,’ with a little advice for reality star singer Tamar Braxton and her estranged husband Vince Herbert. During recent press rounds for ‘Tamar and Vince,’ the couple visited ‘The View’ together and finally addressed the ugly rumors surrounding their marriage, revealing a lot of their drama stemmed from Tamar’s ‘so called friends.’ In December, Tamar told her Instagram followers that Vince was expecting a child with another woman . The ‘Love & War’ songstress has since backtracked on the claim, saying ‘people being in her business,’ was the source of a lot of their relationship drama. “You have to take responsibility for telling too much your business. I should’ve said, this is what my ‘so-called’ friends are telling me. The pregnancy rumors came from my friends,” Tay told the hosts. When HelloBeautiful asked Iyanla her thoughts surrounding friends being too involved in their loved one’s relationship, Iyanla had this to say: “No relationship is destroyed by the outside in. All relationships disintegrate from the inside out. There is something in the relationship that is in break down, or that is failing to operating accordingly. If there is a strong enough infrastructure, no matter what comes at the relationship, it will be able to survive.” READ MORE:  UNPOPULAR OPINION: You Can’t Ask All Your Girlfriends For Relationship Advice So what happens to the friends who are often bystanders to their friend’s toxic relationships? Iyanla recommends one thing: Prayer. “Sometimes it’s difficult watching a loved one hit rock bottom but then you have to remember it’s God who made the rock.So while to us it looks dramatic and unnecessary there is something this person is learning. So our job as bystanders is to call forth the highest and the greatest good, and not get caught up in the details. Don’t get caught up in the fact that he is ‘boo boo the fool’ and she’s madly in love with him. Let’s surround her in light. Let’s pray while she’s learning this lesson she doesn’t get physically harmed or injured. Let’s call forth the good in her. Let’s call forth the good in him. Amen. Tune in to the new season of ‘Iyanla, Fix My Life’ March 3rd at 9/8c on OWN for more inspiration.   RELATED LINKS Iyanla Vanzant Has A Word For Torrei Hart: You Have Work To Do MempHitz Drops Hints That He Is Going To Iyanla VanZant’s ‘Fix My Life’ Iyanla Vanzant Brings The Past To The Present For Neffe In This Exclusive Sneak Peek Of “Fix My Life”
