Not long after Bieber was arrested for DUI in January, a petition to have the singer deported back to Canada amassed over 100,000 signatures, forcing The White House to actually review this document, according to law. It continued: “The We the People terms of participation state that, ‘to avoid the appearance of improper influence, the White House may decline to address certain procurement, law enforcement, adjudicatory, or similar matters properly within the jurisdiction of federal departments or agencies, federal courts, or state and local government in its response to a petition.” The petition originated on January 23 and was titled “Deport Justin Bieber and revoke his green card.” It garnered more than 273,000 signatures and actually prompted an official statement regarding immigration reform. “Independent economists say immigration reform will grow our economy and shrink our deficits by almost $1 trillion in the next 20 years,” reads the response. “For those of you counting at home, that’s 12.5 billion concert tickets – or 100 billion copies of Mr. Bieber’s debut album.” Since pleading not guilty to all charges (driving under the influence, resisting arrest and driving without a valid driver’s license), Bieber is awaiting a trial that is now scheduled to begin on Monday, May 5. Chad is getting that football gwap again. Chad Johnson In Minicamp With CFL’s Montreal Alouettes Chad Johnson is getting another chance to get back on the football field. According to NY Daily News: Chad Johnson was on the field with the Montreal Alouettes of the CFL on Tuesday for the start of their three-day minicamp, and there’s a very realistic chance that he will be with them when their season starts for real in June. “It’s just football. It’s football,” Johnson said. “It’s not about Montreal. It’s about the opportunity to be able to play football again, something I love.” It’s something he lost two years ago. Johnson last appeared in an NFL game during the 2011 season with New England. He was in training camp with the Miami Dolphins — his hometown team — the following summer, but his contract was terminated one day after he was charged with misdemeanor domestic battery. “A horrible mistake,” Johnson said. “A dream of mine since I was 4 years old was taken from me, rightfully so, by my wrongdoings and I just want to get back to doing something that I love to do, regardless of where it is. San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick is denying that he has any involvement in a criminal case following an incident in a Miami hotel room. TMZ reported yesterday that Kaepernick is being investigated in connection with an alleged sexual assault. “The charges made against me in the TMZ story and other stories I’ve seen are completely wrong,” Kaepernick tweeted yesterday. “They make things up about me that never happened.” Kaepernick didn’t specify what details of the story were inaccurate, though TMZ reports that their source in the Miami police department has changed his story , downgrading the incident from a “sexual assault” to a “suspicious incident.” Kaepernick followed up his earlier tweet by saying, “I want to thank all the people who have shared their encouraging sentiments. I assure you that your faith is not misplaced.” The NFL star seems unconcerned with the allegations against him and has been spotted partying at various nightclubs several times since the investigation began. Specifics about the incident remain scarce but according to TMZ, a woman claims she was naked in a bed with Kaepernick smoking marijuana and she later awoke in a hospital. The nature of her injuries are unknown.
