ATL rap legend Big Boi has reached a deal on Florida drug charges that allows him to avoid jail time. The Associated Press reports that the OutKast rapper appeared in a Miami courtroom today as prosecutors outlined the deal. Big Boi (born Antwan Patton) will have to undergo three months of drug testing, perform community service and pay $2,000 in donations to charities. As we previously reported, Big Boi was arrested getting off a cruise ship in August after police discovered the rapper was carrying ecstasy, a cigarette roller with marijuana residue and the ecstasy ingredient MDMA. Big Boi had faced two felony drug charges. If he remains drug-free after three months of testing, those charges will be dismissed. Read more here. However, longtime resident of Miami-Dade county Luther “Uncle Luke” Campbell is taking exception to everyone taking from his city but giving nothing back. In a letter to the Miami New Times, the legendary Luke took aim at Lil Wayne, Diddy, DJ Khaled and others: “I’ve got a message for Lil Wayne, his Cash Money Brothers, DJ Khaled, Puff Daddy and all the rappers from other parts of the country who now live in Miami. I’m tired of seeing these cats using up our beaches, soaking up our sunshine, taking over the nightclubs, and sleeping with our women without investing anything into the community. I want to know when Lil Wayne is going to do more than show up courtside at the American Airlines Arena. Hell, it’s not like he paid for them anyway. While her sister Beyonce was revealing her pregnancy , Solange Knowles made headlines for less positive reasons in Miami, Fla., on Sunday night. According to reports, Solange and her crew were rejected from a club because they had a balloon, which they decided to cross the street to pop. Yes, this happened … and resulted in a run-in with the cops. There they encountered two off duty police officers, and a conversation ensued, which was “casual and light-hearted” at first. Then it went bad. Apparently, the authorities were not enthralled about Solange being there, or about the balloon, which they brandished a weapon to destroy. Police say Solange was “armed” with a “five-foot inflatable banana.” We’re serious. According to Solange’s rep, these events followed : One officer pulled out a switchblade and threatened to pop the balloon. They felt it was inappropriate, but the turning point happened when he then took out the switchblade a second time with the blade open and said to them, ‘I don’t find the humor in this, anymore.’ The blade was less than a couple feet away from Solange and her friends. The officer proceeded to “forcefully” ask them to move, gesturing that they cross the street though there was oncoming traffic. Solange then asked the officer what was it that they did wrong, and he forcefully responded again to move. When a taxi pulled up, they got in and headed home. Solange made a series of calls to report the incident and was told to be prepared to be arrested when she came in to report the incident if her story was false. Solange simply wanted to report that the officer pulled out a weapon, when she had done nothing illegal, disruptive or belligerent. Solange is filing a report and has not yet decided on further legal action . The Miami Beach police said in rebuttal that Solange became unruly, loudly complaining of being rejected from the club for racial reasons. Solange inisists she never once raised her voice, although even if she did, cops whipping out a switchblade may not have been necessary. Beyonce’s sis has also gone on to state her sincerest disappointment with the Miami Beach Police and how they have handled this matter. No word if the matter will be pursued any further. Sean Kingston was recently released from the hospital after a jet-ski accident that almost claimed his life. In an interview airing Tuesday for the “MTV First: Sean Kingston” special, Sean Kingston says “I’m doing good. I’m feeling great. I’m excited. I’m happy,” he said. “A lot of people don’t know it was a deeper situation. Fans worried about the singer, who suffered a number of injuries including a broken jaw, a fractured wrist and water in his lungs. When his friend Justin Bieber heard the news of his pal’s accident, he quickly wanted to see what he could do to help him out. The two had toured together on Bieber’s 2010 headlining tour and appeared on several tracks together, including “Eenie Meenie.” “The first thing I heard was that Sean Kingston got into an accident and I was wondering what it was,” Bieber told MTV News in an interview that aired Tuesday night during “MTV First: Sean Kingston.” “I had no clue, and finally my manager called me and he told me the info and they told me they were going to run it on TMZ and all this stuff,” Bieber recalled. “And I didn’t really know what to do.” Bieber was nowhere near Miami, where the accident occurred, and scrambled to get all the facts. “I was in Texas at the time, and I was just like, ‘Do I need to go see him? What’s going on?’ ” he continued. “And they were like, ‘No, he’s stable right now; he’s fine. And we’ll keep you updated.’ And they kept updating me. I’m so glad that he’s all right now.” During the special, Bieber promised that he knew he and Kingston, who he recently visited at his Miami home , had more fun in store for the future. In a message to his pal, Bieber said, “What’s up, Sean? I’m glad you’re doing well.
