Cameron Douglas, pictured in 2009, son of US actor Michael Douglas, was sentenced to five years in prison for drug trafficking after pleading guilty in New York, court officials said Tuesday. A judge sentenced Michael Douglas#39; son to five years in prison Tuesday for dealing methamphetamine from a trendy Manhattan hotel, calling it his “last chance to make it.” U.S. District Judge Richard M. Berman announced the sentence after hearing 31-year-old Cameron Douglas ask for mercy as his Academy

Michael Douglas’ son Cameron, who was nabbed last year in a major drug dealing operation, was sentenced to five years in prison this afternoon in NYC. Cameron Douglas, along with his father and his mother Diandra, was present in federal court in Manhattan today when the judge fired off the sentence. Michael asked for leniency for his son … and didn’t really get it. Along with the prison time, Cameron was ordered to pay $25,000 in fines and must serve 450 hours of community service as a result of his guilty plea . Once he’s out of jail Cameron is also required to spend an additional five years in a supervised release program. They certainly didn’t go easy on him. Last year, Cameron Douglas was caught in a federal sting operation with large amounts of methamphetamine and cocaine with intent to distribute . Hopefully prison straightens this guy out .

Transformers star Shia LaBeouf says he’s “so excited” to be starring in his new movie Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps . LaBeouf, 23, stars alongside Michael Douglas , Susan Sarandon and Martin Sheen in the sequel to the 1987 classic and says he is over the moon to have landed a role in the flick in an interview with the UK’s Glamour magazine. “I’ve never been so excited about anything in my life. I’m sure that I was the only person in the cast who had not been Academy Award nominated, so it was very scary showing up on set. I felt that people were thinking: ‘He’s just here because his name gets financing for a movie. When I first met Oliver, I told him all my fears. Over the next three months he took all of my insecurities and turned them on me and used me like a marionette puppet. I needed that, it made me a better actor.” We don’t care how many Oscar nominations that cast has, the movie is going to be severely underwhelming.
