America’s Got Talent has not lacked for drama early in Season 9. Travis Pratt proposed to his girlfriend on stage. Paul Thomas Mitchell made like John Mayer and then broke down in front of the judges. Anna Christine was simply awesome. And then last night Jonathan Allen came out, announced that his parents kicked him out on his 18th birthday for being gay, and then stunned with the following audition: Jonathan Allen America’s Got Talent Audition Crowed Howie Mandel: “You seem like a good person, and you have a dream, and a talent, and your own family disowned you, but with your talent, this show has become your family, and we’d like to say ‘welcome home.’ We love you, we accept you, and we are so proud that you came here.” Amen, Howie. Amen.
Paris Jackson is stable following her recent suicide attempt, and her condition is improving, but she’s still dealing with some pretty heavy issues emotionally. Chief among them? She never properly grieved or emotionally processed Michael Jackson’s 2009 death, sources connected with the Jackson family say. Currently in treatment at UCLA Medical Center, Paris has felt the impact of bullying on social media and websites, and has let it “really get to her.” She does not have access to her phone or the Internet, so the problem is on the back burner for now, however it’s only a matter of time until it returns. Paris, one source says, is a “rebel” who almost got expelled from her private school after punching a student who “talked smack about her father.” Her mother and potential new legal guardian Debbie Rowe is said to have expressed deep concern about some friends Paris has been hanging with. Rowe believes some of Paris’ peers are bad influences, and while it’s not specifically clear why, the 15-year-old is clearly having an identity crisis . Moreover, doctors feel Paris has not really gone through the grieving process over her dad’s death, and turmoil has built up internally for four years. When Paris gets out of UCLA, she and Debbie Rowe are going away together for 6-8 weeks so she can get better – far from the pressures of L.A. We’re not psychologists, but that sounds like that can only help. Should mom Debbie be Paris’ full-time guardian? Yes. It sounds like she needs her mom! No! I don’t trust that woman! View Poll »
Michael Jackson’s family is outraged and prepared to put forth a united front in opposition to any effort to make Debbie Rowe guardian of Paris Jackson. Rowe, Paris’ biological mother, has not made any move to become her guardian after last week’s suicide attempt, but she’s open to it if Paris wants it. Paris Jackson is having trouble connecting with grandmother Katherine, and recently established a bond with mom Debbie over the last few months. While Paris’ identity crisis and desire to get to know her mother are no doubt genuinely motivated, family members say Debbie’s angle is quite different. Basically, they say she just wants to put herself in the public eye. They point to her statement to the media after the suicide attempt. One source told TMZ, “If her intentions were pure she’d be speaking to the family.” The family will fight Debbie “tooth and nail” if she attempts to secure guardianship of the troubled teen, which is a real possibility, says the gossip site. Their criticism of Rowe is puzzling, however, since Debbie has been laying low for YEARS, even when MJ died and Katherine went missing last year. Moreover, her “statement” about Paris had nothing to do with legal guardianship; Rowe merely confirmed that Paris had in fact attempted suicide. Rowe also received a substantial settlement from Jackson upon their divorce, which hurts the argument that she is solely motivated by fiscal interests. In any case, the judge in the custody case is currently reviewing Katherine Jackson’s guardianship to determine if she’s able to properly care for Paris. If she’s not, Rowe could make a play if Paris is amenable.
Simon Cowell has often egged on contestants to do better… but this is ridiculous! On last night’s Britain’s Got Talent finale, Richard and Adam Johnson took to the stage for a version of “The Impossible Dream” when a viola player named Natalie Holt sprung from her spot, ran in front of the brothers and fired eggs at the famous judge. And the crazy incident was caught on camera! Watch it take place around the two-minute mark now: Simon Cowell Gets Egged Holt was a contestant last season on the show and said afterward: “I want to apologize to Richard and Adam for overshadowing their performance. I’ve never done anything like this before and in hindsight I have realized it was a silly thing to do.” She should really apologize to a Hungarian group called Attraction. They took home the Britain’s Got Talent title, but not the headlines after the show.
Paris Jackson was transferred to UCLA Medical Center Saturday night, effectively ending the 5150 psychiatric hold that began after her suicide attempt. That facility is the same one where her father, Michael Jackson, was pronounced dead four years ago this month following an acute Propofol overdose. As you’re likely aware by now, 15-year-old Jackson was rushed to the hospital early Wednesday after she allegedly cut her forearm with a meat cleaver. A purported Paris Jackson suicide note was found at the scene, though it’s unclear; the youngster is believed to have been battling major depression. She was placed under a 5150 psychiatric hold, effectively keeping her at a local hospital regardless of her condition or desire to leave, for 72 hours. That three-day period is now over, so the troubled teen was moved to UCLA Medical Center. TMZ photos showed Jackson being wheeled yesterday. No word on her status, though the mood of her security team suggested that Jackson may be doing better after what can only be called a tragic week. The Jackson family, of course, is no stranger to UCLA Medical Center, where Michael was taken after he went into cardiac arrest on June 25, 2009. That’s where he was pronounced dead, after Dr. Conrad Murray – who left Paris a bizarre pay phone “letter” this week – refused to call it at his home. As for the King of Pop’s daughter and her long-term prognosis, a custody judge has since ordered an investigation in a bid to ensure her well-being.

Despite the “You are not alone” tag, Man of Steel is not a Michael Jackson biopic (though how are there not already six of those?). It’s a Superman biopic. …Scratch that, I’m being informed that Superman is not real and this is a fictional film based on a comic book. Also, my delete key is broken. Check out three new Man of Steel character posters : Henry Cavill, Russell Crowe, and Michael Shannon star in the posters as the three Kryptonians Superman, Jor-El, and General Zod. Amy Adams, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, and Christopher Meloni also star. Zack Snyder directs the reboot/origin story, which fans can catch in theaters beginning June 14!
