Billboard Music Awards Belong To Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift

Show also features tributes to Whitney Houston, Donna Summer, MCA and Robin Gibb. By Gil Kaufman Justin Bieber performs at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday Photo: Ethan Miller/ Getty Images Sunday night’s (May 20) Billboard Music Awards were a bittersweet affair, balancing the promise of decades of entertainment from a new generation of record-smashing young artists like Justin Bieber, Katy Perry and Taylor Swift with fond memories of a number of recently departed musical icons. In a three-hour show heavy on performances, chart staples LMFAO helped kicked the show off with a typically hyped performance of their inescapable party anthems that featured a cabbage-patching teddy bear and zebra and more animal prints than a Flintstones family reunion. Justin Bieber was the night’s first winner, taking the Top Social Artist award for his huge online presence. The singer swaggered up to the stage and, in an uncharacteristically emotional moment, said, “I just want to say how much of a blessing it’s been … the past three or four years, growing up in front of everybody. … I want to thank all my fans, because the Internet is where I got my start, and all my fans have helped me get to this position.” Co-host Julie Bowen took a moment out of the program early on to pay tribute to late Bee Gees member Robin Gibb , who died earlier in the day Sunday after a long battle with cancer. The night also featured a touching tribute to recently passed disco queen Donna Summer by Natasha Bedingfield and a segment devoted to music legend Whitney Houston with a medley of her indelible hits performed by John Legend and Jordin Sparks. Daughter Bobbi Kristina accepted the Billboard Millennium Award on behalf of her late mother. “I just really want to say thank you to everyone who supported us through it all,” she said. “Not just when it was good, but when it was bad too … thank you so much for showing that much love, because she deserved it.” Katy Perry was handed the Spotlight Award for tying the record set by Michael Jackson of five #1 hits from the same album, for her handful of smashes from Teenage Dream. Dressed in a floor-length sparkling silver gown, her hair a muted dark purple, Perry said she was “incredibly honored” to be in the same category as someone like Jackson. “Most of all, of course, I always say that the people have the power, so I want to say thank you to the glittering, gorgeous community of fans out there,” she added to wild applause, while finding a spare few seconds to plug her upcoming 3-D concert film, “Part of Me.” Oh, and she said she couldn’t wait to do shots later that night with her 91-year-old granny, who was in the audience. The ladies had a great night, as Taylor Swift was honored with the Billboard Woman of the Year award, acknowledging her stadium full of impressive credits, including a place as the only woman in music history to score three #1 albums in a row, each of which has sold more than 5 million copies. Swift, 22, dressed in a flowing red evening gown and ever gracious, thanked her legions of fans, saying, “I just love you so much, I’m just so humbled and honored by this.” As Miley Cyrus noted, you’re only new to the game once, so it was fitting that red-hot rapper Wiz Khalifa best the competition for the Top New Artist trophy. “I’m up here shakin’, man,” the rapper admitted as he thanked his whole crew and label family, as well as his “beautiful fianc

GTFOHWTBS: Ex-Bodyguard Claims That Michael Jackson Was High And He Asked That Randy Jackson Be Shot!!

Cool story bro…SMFH Michael Jackson’s Ex-Bodyguard Claims He Was Ordered To Shoot Randy Jackson According to the uber-reliable (*rolls eyes*) folks at The Sun His former Brit bodyguard told last night how the tragic superstar ordered the hit in a drug-fuelled paranoid rage. Martial arts master Matt Fiddes said: “Michael was caught in a war with his brothers for years. “They were desperate to sign him up to a $500million deal for a Jackson Five reunion tour. “By 2005 Michael had surrounded himself with Nation of Islam bodyguards and became paranoid to the point that he would bar family from coming into his home. “Things reached a head when Randy was trying to force his way past the bodyguards to speak to him in one of his rented homes. Michael ordered him to be shot. Here is the shady-a$$ story that ol’ boy is trying to kick. “He was out of mind on drugs and luckily Randy was OK. “Michael shouted at the bodyguards that he wanted Randy shot, and Randy really feared he’d be killed. “I don’t think Michael ever intended to kill him and told the guards to shoot him in the leg. “But Randy was so scared he got on the phone and threatened to call the Press. “He told the bodyguards, ‘If you shoot me the whole world will know about it’. “He then backed off and got out.” This Michael Jackson, not Michael Corleone, dirty son-of-a-beyotch…

Mila Kunis Ass in Leggings of the Day

I find Mila Kunis amazing to look at. She’s probably the top girl in Hollywood as far as I’m concerned but I am tired of hearing losers whine about her fucking Ashton Kutcher, because they don’t know the bitch, and really who fucking cares who she’s fucking, it’s not like you’re a fucking candidate to visit her twat or something….this kind of behvior always weirds me out….. Sure, Ashton Kutcher is fucking annoying, he blocked me on Twitter in the beginning of Twitter along with one other dude, because he clearly has no sense of humor or good taste..takes life too seriously….proven by that whole Demi Moore bullshit….but more importantly proven everytime his successful ass opens its annoying fucking mouth….. But you know what, it is very possible that Mila Kunis sucks as a fucking human. Lots of good looking girls are lame and like lame guys who do lame things cuz they have no personality and no idea what’s up. It is very possible that she’s not funny, interesting, cool, she could easily be a bitch who always looks at herself in the mirror talking about hollywood and other uninteresting drivel that you would hate….you see cuz the Mila you think you know and love is a fucking character idiot…. It is very possible that her and Ashton Kutcher are equally fucking idiots who lucked out cuz the producer of 70s show was a pedophile who like underage kids with model like faces….who found love 10 years later cuz they came up together and get each other like no one else gets them who want to fuck…..meant to be together…true asshole love…. What we can hope for is that Mila Kunis got AIDS from Culkin who got it from Michael Jackson and sharing needles with street kids when he was all tormented in the 90s, that she gives to Ashton Kutcher when fucking during a Demi who banged everyone to get a career cuz she was ugly, herpes outbreak…because Ashton Kutcher HIV Positive makes him more tolerable knowing he is suffering….

Mystikal Gets 81 Days In Jail For Probation Violation

Cash Money CEO Birdman confirms to MTV News that the label will continue to support the New Orleans rapper. By Nadeska Alexis Mystikal Photo: Daniel Boczarski/Getty Images Mystikal inked a new deal with Cash Money Records in December to release his upcoming sixth studio album, Original, but the New Orleans rapper will have to delay work on his LP due to legal troubles. Mystikal, born Michael Tyler, has been sentenced to three months in jail for probation violation. On Monday, Louisiana State District Judge Tony Marabella handed down the three-month sentence for the 41-year-old rapper, who was arrested in February and charged with a misdemeanor for domestic abuse battery. The arrest was in violation of his five-year probation, stemming from sexual battery and extortion charges that landed him in a Louisiana prison from 2004 to 2010 . A spokesperson for Cash Money CEO Birdman issued a statement to MTV News, confirming the label will continue to support Mystikal’s career, emphasizing that the arrest will not affect their relationship. Birdman’s rep added that Mystikal will turn himself in on May 14 to being the sentence, but he will only serve 81 days, since Marabella is crediting him for the nine days he spent behind bars after the February arrest. During a March visit to “RapFix Live,” Mystikal revealed a few details about his anticipated album, including an upcoming collaboration with Cash Money labelmates Drake and Busta Ryhmes. “I’m telling you, this album is gonna be so well worth the wait, Sway, believe that,” Mystikal told MTV News’ Sway Calloway. “Busta [Rhymes] was one of the first artists I worked with when I first came home. Busta came out there, came all the way to Baton Rouge. I’m talking about we got it in.” In mid-March, Mystikal dropped the video for his album’s lead single, “Original,” which featured appearances from Lil Wayne and Birdman and gave fans a glimpse of the luxurious YMCMB lifestyle. Original will be Mystikal’s first album since 2001’s Tarantula. Related Videos Hurricane Mystikal Storms ‘RapFix’ Related Artists Mystikal

Is Tupac Coachella Hologram The Future Of Touring?

‘It’s not something that would be particularly easy for another artist to emulate,’ says veteran manager Danny Goldberg. By Gil Kaufman Tupac hologram at Coachella Photo: Getty Images Sure, the laser Pink Floyd show is totally awesome and the Beatles cover band totally nailed “Penny Lane.” But after the rapturous response to the Tupac
 Shakur hologram
at Coachella, you can be sure phones are ringing off the hook this week all over Hollywood with calls to the Digital Domain wizards behind the stunt. Think of the possibilities: The Doors resurrected with a young Jim Morrison, Nirvana on tour with a virtual Kurt Cobain or a resurrected Tupac and Biggie sharing a stage for a greatest hits show. But does the success of the Tupac mini-set mean that holograms are the touring industry’s version of 3-D movies? “I thought it was great in that particular moment,” said veteran manager Danny Goldberg, who has worked with everyone from Nirvana and Led Zeppelin to Sonic Youth and the Hives, who he was on hand to see at Coachella. “They were evoking a certain nostalgia for [the era of] gangsta rap and I thought it worked in that context and was exciting and special. I think it’s not something that would be particularly easy for another artist to emulate.” Goldberg said certain things work best the first time and if someone else was to try a holo-show they would have to find a way to make it new again, otherwise it might just seem cheesy and derivative. Part of that potential pitfall is the legacy of the artist. For example, if Paul McCartney announced a tour with a virtual John Lennon, Beatles fans would likely see that as being in bad taste and not show up. “It’s another tool in the toolbox of technology, but some tools should only be used sparingly,” he said, adding that he thought the execution at Coachella was stellar. Making the trick to work on a larger scale, or even on a full-blown tour
is unlikely given the unique aspects of the Coachella gig. “Part of what made that effective was that it was a surprise, coupled with authentic living, breathing superstars in Dre and Snoop and not over-relying on it,” said Goldberg. “I wouldn’t look at it as the beginning of a big trend, but as an amazing moment.” Fans may get another chance to experience the trick when the upcoming Cirque du Soleil-created Michael Jackson show in Las Vegas opens next year. While a spokesperson for the Jackson estate would not confirm that the MJ show would use similar technology, when MTV News spoke to Cirque President and CEO Daniel Lamarre in 2010 he said that, “The new technology that we want to bring to [the permanent] Vegas [show] will be more theatrical,” promising that fans, “Will see Vegas become the home of Michael Jackson and people will come from all over the world to experience the uniqueness of the technology that we want to bring there.” At the time, Lamarre hinted at the use of “3-D technologies and hologram technologies to allow people to see Michael Jackson onstage.” Also on hand to watch holo-Pac at Coachella was Dave Brooks, managing editor of live entertainment trade magazine Venues Today . He said he could definitely see the technology employed in several ways. “Obviously the posthumous thing is one idea,” he said. “Think about the Michael Jackson Cirque tour, or the Who bringing back a hologram of [late drummer] Keith Moon. [Bringing back] dead band members could be a way to enhance the show and plenty of people would be impressed to see a hologram of Keith Moon.” As for whether an all-hologram tour could win over audiences, based on what he’s seen so far, Brooks said it wasn’t likely … yet. “Anything is possible, but from that one glimpse of the technology I can’t say it’s enough to make a whole tour of just that.” In fact, he said having the hologram Tupac on stage for two songs was great, but it would likely have gotten tired if the West Coast legend had hung around all night. Given the amount of all-star collaborations among pop and hip-hop stars these days, Brooks said the other way he could see the technology deployed is to briefly bring some of those one-off singles to life in concert. “Because of the nature of pop music these days, with collaborations like Calvin Harris and Rihanna and Alicia Keys and Jay-Z, this could definitely add a ‘wow’ factor,” he said. “It’s one thing to have [the other singer] on a screen, but if you could have them there in 3-D it would impress more.” Related Photos Tupac’s Hologram At Coachella Related Artists Tupac

‘American Idol’ Enters ‘This Decade’: What Should They Sing?

Gil Kaufman and James Montgomery face off on what ‘Songs From This Decade’ the top seven should tackle. By Gil Kaufman and James Montgomery Jessica Sanchez Photo: FOX For weeks, it’s felt like we’ve been screaming into the void. We keep begging “American Idol” to get with the program and borrow a page from rivals like “The Voice” and “X Factor” by having the finalists sing songs that were released in the decades since Randy Jackson played bass for Carlos Santana. It’s a novel concept, we know. Seriously, enough with the Billy Joel and Michael Jackson theme nights! Not another collection of Elton John, disco or Frank Sinatra songs, please! Give us something contemporary, dudes — or at least something that may give our aunt in Virginia pause. Finally, “Idol” producers seem to have heard our pleas and given the top seven a shot at sounding halfway relevant this week with “Songs From This Decade” night. Now, the reality singing gods giveth and they taketh away, so while we’re in mortal fear of hearing Jason Mraz and Train songs, we’re also a bit torn about what is likely to turn into an Adele-valanche. Be careful what you wish for. But we’ll take it. So here’s what songs MTV News’ resident “Idol” experts think the remaining contestants should tackle. They failed to take our advice on last week’s ’80-themed show , and look how that one turned out … DeAndre . Read on for our picks! Joshua Ledet Josh smashed it last week and is once again at the top of his game. But here’s the thing: The guy remains an R&B tabula rasa, personality-wise. It’s hard to see him headlining an arena tour or filming an iconic video. Since we hear he’s way more confident off-camera than on, L-Deezy needs to get a little grimy, and what better way to do that than with Usher’s “OMG”? Or, if he must, I offer a one-time-only Adele dispensation for “Someone Like You.” — Kaufman I see him going one of two ways tonight: Either he embraces his brassy, sassy side and does Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” — which he’d kill,
