Every athlete’s dream was probably to be as successful as Michael Jordan, as athletic as Michael Jordan, and to star in a film with the Looney Tunes like Michael Jordan.
After days of silence following the announcement that Michael Strahan was leaving Live! With Kelly and Michael , Kelly Ripa now speaks out on whether she will return to the show. The verdict? She’s coming back! Ripa said she will be in her Live! host seat on Tuesday morning, alongside co-host Strahan, reported Us Weekly . Her words came in an e-mail she sent to her staff late Friday night: “Sorry for this late Friday night email. “I wanted to thank you all for giving me the time to process this new information. “Your kindness, support, and love has overwhelmed me. “We are a family and I look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday morning. “Love, Kelly.” Ripa was reportedly blindsided when she learned that Strahan would be leaving Live! to take on the role of full-time correspondent on Good Morning America . She found out during a meeting with executives after Tuesday morning’s show, just minutes before the news was announced to the public. Reports claim Ripa was furious at the way the situation was handled and felt that ABC was giving priority to GMA . Shocking fans, she failed to show up to work Wednesday morning, leaving Ana Gasteyer to fill in last minute and forcing Strahan to deliver the announcement of his departure without his bubbly co-host. Ripa then took off to Turks and Caicos for a previously planned vacation with her family to celebrate her 20th wedding anniversary. Rumors swirled that Ripa might not return, or that she was refusing to work alongside Strahan, who she once called her “TV husband.” Fans can now rest knowing that the perky blonde will be back to the morning show next week, and we are just giddy anticipating how awkward it’s gonna be. The last time we heard from him, Bam Margera was getting beat up after trash-talking some random Europeans while on tour doing…whatever it is Bam Margera does on tour. So when Bam popped up on the debut season of VH1’s Family Therapy a few weeks ago, we weren’t surprised to see that he’s since admitted he has a problem with alcohol. We were a bit surprised by his choice of sober companion: Bam Margera & Michael Lohan on Family Therapy Yes, that’s Bam bonding with Michael Lohan, which – fun fact – is actually far more dangerous than any stunt he ever pulled on Jackass . Much of the the show is typical VH1 trainwreck-rubbernecking disguised as an earnest attempt to help some C- and D-listers battle their demons, and that’s fine. The insane relationship between Tiffany “New York” Pollard and her mother is enough to justify the series’ existence. But Margera and Lohan both take the show from typical guilty-pleasure reality TV to disturbing glimpse into the minds of some very troubled men. Many fans have noted (with an upsetting amount of schadenfreude) that Bam no longer resembles the slender, energetic daredevil his fans knew and loved. Lohan, on the other hand, is exactly as we remember him: He’s still terrorizing Dina Lohan , who, in turn is still lying about everything she can, including her well-documented habit of doing coke with her daughter . We don’t think VH1 bargained for quite this much sadness when they picked this roster of celebs. View Slideshow: Michael Lohan: Breakin’ the Law!
Amber Portwood’s fiance, Matt Baier, isn’t just a deadbeat dad – he’s the Michael Jordan of deadbeat dads. Other deadbeat dads have posters of Baier on their bedroom walls, perhaps with his tongue wagging as he dunks a court summons in his wastebasket. It’s hard to keep track of just how many babies and baby mamas Baier is currently dodging, so here’s the rundown: At first it was reported that Baier had seven kids with five different women . (Yes, someone had sex with him multiple times.) Shortly thereafter, a sixth baby mama emerged claiming that Baier actually has eight kids . If you thought that would be it, then clearly you know Baier about as well as his clueless fiancee! Earlier this week, a seventh woman came forward alleging that Baier has nine children that he’s not supporting. You may think that Baier sounds like a terrible person, and you’re almost certainly right, but believe it or not, he does seem to be making an effort to set things right – albeit about a decade too late. A new report from The Ashley’s Reality Roundup, confirms that Matt is finally paying child support after receiving his first checks from MTV for his “work” on Teen Mom: OG . One of the baby mamas says she received a check for $500 last week – the first money that she’s ever received from Baier for their child. But before you go circling Matt’s name on your Dad of the Year ballot, you should know that the decision to finally pay up was not his own. According to The Ashley, the Massachusetts Department of Revenue was informed that Matt would be getting paid by MTV after being promoted to full-fledged “cast member” status, and they garnished his wages starting with paycheck number one. “They are withholding 65 percent of his checks and dividing it up among the moms, from what I have heard,” says one of his baby mamas. The US government: forcing D-bags like Matt to fork over what they owe since 1789. View Slideshow: Teen Mom Cast: Before They Were Stars …
Now more than ever it seems like we need a show like this to shine a light on some of the ugliest events in American history. Investigation Discovery (ID) and Emmy Award-winning journalist Tony Harris are teaming up once again with premiere civil rights advocacy organization, the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), to produce HATE IN AMERICA, a new documentary strand that showcases the SPLC’s efforts to combat bigotry and hate groups in the United States. The mission of the SPLC and its legendary founder, Morris Dees, are to combat the hate, intolerance and discrimination perpetuated by these groups through education, litigation and advocacy. According to the SPLC’s 2015 Intelligence Report, the number of extremist groups operating domestically grew by 14% from 2014, and the SPLC catalogued an astounding 892 hate groups in the US, including neo-Nazis, white nationalists, black separatists, Klansmen and other groups that target the LGBT community. Produced by NBC News’ award-winning production arm Peacock Productions, the documentary series HATE IN AMERICA kicks off with its first premiere on Monday, February 29 at 8/7c, showcasing the SPLC’s remarkable strides to fight organized hate over the past four decades. In the first episode of HATE IN AMERICA, titled The Klan on Trial, Harris explores some of the SPLC’s most riveting court cases, starting with the Michael Donald case – a heinous lynching of a young man in the early 1980s that prompted SPLC founder Morris Dees to sue the United Klans of America (UKA) on behalf of the victim’s mother. In this landmark court decision, the UKA’s violent leadership was held responsible for the unspeakably violent and racist acts of its members, helping to turn the tide against organized hate in our country. Harris also digs deep into the deeds of notorious white supremacist murderer Glenn Miller, who most recently made national headlines when he went on a shooting spree at a Kansas Jewish Community Center in April 2014. The first episode of HATE IN AMERICA, The Klan on Trial premieres on Monday, February 29 at 8/7c on Investigation Discovery, with subsequent premieres airing throughout 2016. Will you be watching?
OMG so awkward. This was a topic even Dr. Drew didn't want to touch (wrong choice of words) during part one of Teen Mom OG reunion. “I'm gonna ask a tough question, dad-to-dad. The elephant in the room is some of the exploitation that she's been through ,” Dr. Drew said, pointing to Farrah Abraham. “I feel for you,” Dr. Drew told Michael Abraham. “I can imagine how conflicted you must have been about that. I don't even know how to talk about it, frankly.” Abraham nodded silently, then revealed that “when that video was announced, it was portrayed that I negotiated her deal.” “So it's as though you served her up,” Dr. Drew added. Abraham agreed and continued. “When you get involved with the wrong management company – I'll just say – they ask you, they tell you to do certain things. In retrospect, I would have never gone and done that.” Dr. Drew saw a red flag. “You trusted some people who weren't worthy of your trust at the time,” he said to Michael. “Right” “Is that a pattern for you, in your life?” he asked “No,” Michael said. “It is for Farrah,” Dr. Drew pointed out “It has been, but I've seen Farrah breaking out of it,” Michael explained. “I see it too,” Dr. Drew said, “but I'm wondering how you got sucked into it.” EEEK. “That particular thing was because I wanted to be by her side, because six days before there was a release that my daughter had an adult video,” Michael admitted. “How did you get through all that,” Dr. Drew asked, as Abraham started to choke up. “A lot of hope. A lot of prayer,” Michael answered, holding back tears. In another sneak peak, Farrah admitted to Dr. Drew that she suffered a “horrific” childhood incident, which was not specified in the clip. The MTV star, who battled with her producer this past season, got emotional as she and Dr. Drew spoke more about her past. “It's so sad,” she told Dr. Drew when he noticed her welling up. Part of of Teen Mom OG reunion airs tonight at 10/9 c on MTV.
