Bun B On Michael Jackson: ‘Let That Man Rest In Peace’

‘I just wish that people would leave well enough alone,’ ex-UGK MC says. By Shaheem Reid Bun B Photo: MTV News Friday marks the one-year anniversary of the death of Michael Jackson , and as fans reflect on his life and musical legacy, Bun B says we should preserve his memory by remembering what a remarkable entertainer he was, rather than all that other stuff. “I just wish that people would leave well enough alone,” Bun said. “It’s still a lot of mess surrounding [his death], it’s a lot of people that are willing to entertain people who are looking for mess. I’m not going to name names, ’cause everybody deals with grief differently. I think they should leave well enough alone. If they want to have one thing a year for Mike, that’s fine — of course, however they choose to honor him [privately is fine]. But I think they just need to let the fans do their thing [in celebrating]. Let that man rest in peace.” Bun also feels that Michael’s three children should be kept out of the spotlight. “I think they should definitely pull the kids back,” he said. “Take his children and pull them back. Dude ain’t never want that for his kids. I think that for a life of being misunderstood, and [having]miscommunications and not discussing a lot of what was going on with himself, I think the one thing we could all draw from him was that he didn’t want anybody bothering his children. He didn’t want them to deal with the type of craziness and madness that comes with being in this industry. Unfortunately, it looks like some people want to pull them in this mess for money, which is unfortunate because the estate of Michael Jackson isn’t hurting for no money. A lot of people should leave well enough alone.” Related Videos Remembering Michael Jackson – One Year Later Related Photos Michael Jackson: A Life In Photos Related Artists Bun B

At Home With Prince, Paris & Blanket Jackson

It’s been almost a year since their famous father’s death, and Michael Jackson’s children have understandably attracted a great deal of attention in that time. We’ve seen them at his memorial service, the Grammy Awards and on YouTube. But who are they really? They’re unique individual s, each a bit like their dad. At 13, Prince Michael Jackson is, in the words of family, “very smart” and an aspiring filmmaker. A year younger, Paris Jackson is “the strongest” of the three. That’s according to their grandmother and guardian, Katherine Jackson, who recently opened up to London’s Daily Mirror about caring for the star’s children. Their baby brother Blanket (real name Prince Michael Jackson II) is, well, a baby brother. His uncle, Jermaine Jackson, says he’s a water-gun-toting prankster. “As soon as you turn your back,” he told London’s Sun of Blanket, who his own son was accused of trying to taser, “he shoots you and you’re left soaking wet.” While Katherine Jackson recently said the home-schooled Prince, Paris and Blanket ” don’t have any friends ” she says they’re going to school come September. In a separate interview with the Associated Press, Katherine Jackson’s lawyer Adam Streisand noted only that Prince Michael would be heading off to school. But deep down, they’re pretty regular kids, just like MJ wanted. They’re upbeat, they’re into video games, movies, karate, and just playing with each other. If you caught Blanket going bonkers with his light saber moves YouTube, you already know he’s come out of his shell a bit. His older siblings are no different. The children are thriving, and what is often overlooked is how Michael Jackson, who lacked a real childhood himself, raised these three without mothers. Perhaps he was more human than people gave him credit for being. “The kids are happy,” said their godfather and Michael’s friend Mark Lester , the former child actor of Oliver! fame. “Things are settling down. That’s good.”

Joe Jackson Blames AEG for Michael’s Death, Too

We know Michael Jackson’s death was tragic and all, but it’s kind of sleazy how his crazy father Joe seems bent on blaming/suing everyone on the planet for it. It’s like he wants to sponge off of his son for attention and/or money, even after the music icon passed away. We’d feel bad implying that if it weren’t obvious. In any case, Joe’s latest beef – he’s already sued Dr. Conrad Murray and blamed Katherine Jackson , his own wife, for Michael’s untimely demise – is with AEG. Murray requested lifesaving equipment and back-up help for Michael from his London concert promoter, Joe claims, but the company never came through . Joe Jackson is gunning for AEG by filing complaints with the California Medical Board and another agency, alleging that the concert promoter abused his son. Joe Jackson is going after Dr. Conrad Murray … and his corporate boss . Days before MJ’s death, Murray had requested a heart resuscitation machine and a nurse in several e-mails making the request, but AEG never provided it. Joe is accusing AEG of co-opting Dr. Conrad Murray’s medical judgment by enticing him with a huge salary, an “unlawful practice of corporate medicine.” Besides the CPR machine, he also asked for saline, catheters, needles and a gurney. The doc, of course, has been charged with involuntary manslaughter. Murray is expected to argue that, as an addict used to getting his way, Michael Jackson killed himself with a lethal Propofol injection when he wasn’t looking. That allegation promoted a wrongful death suit from Joe. What will his next move be? Who knows. Just another day in a saga unfolding for nearly a year.

Megan Fox Hopes She’s ‘Lucky Enough’ To Have A Long Career

‘I haven’t done the same thing twice, and I want to keep moving in that direction,’ ‘Jonah Hex’ actress tells MTV News. By Josh Wigler, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Megan Fox Photo: Bill Sloyer/ MTV News Sometimes, it’s hard to fathom that Megan Fox ‘s prominent place in the pop-culture conversation only dates back to her 2007 breakout role as Mikaela Banes in director Michael Bay’s “Transformers.” Since then, she’s appeared in four films and has two more completed projects on the way, including this weekend’s “Jonah Hex.” And if Fox has her way, she’ll be kicking around on the big screen for several more years to come. “If I’m lucky enough,” Fox told MTV News about her hopes to make her acting career a longtime commitment. “I mean, I would love the opportunity to do that. But that’s not really up to me; that’s up to the world.” Surely, the world would throw its support behind Fox’s desires to stay on the big screen, if only because of her incredibly entertaining offscreen antics (see: her notorious Michael Bay feud ). But Fox doesn’t believe she’s a provocative personality , so much as a misinterpreted one. “I don’t feel like I’ve ever necessarily said anything that was provocative,” she said. “I think that people take relatively innocent statements and turn them into provocative things. … People have no idea how to react. It’s not that the statement itself is outrageous.” As for what the future holds for Fox aside from “Jonah Hex,” the actress will be seen opposite Mickey Rourke in “Passion Play,” a film in which she plays a winged circus performer. Additionally, she remains attached to “Fathom,” an action film based on the comic book created by the late Michael Turner. Beyond those commitments, Fox has only one concrete plan: mixing it up. “I don’t have anything specific, like, a specific genre film that I want to do,” she said. “I just want to keep doing things that are completely different, because so far, I haven’t done the same thing twice, and I want to keep moving in that direction.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Jonah Hex.” For breaking news and previews of the latest comic book movies — updated around the clock — visit SplashPage.MTV.com .
