Could You Do It??? Single Black Mother Of 3 Moves Family To The UAE

Single Black Mother Of 3 Talks About Why She Moved Her Family To The Middle East The Washington Post took time out to interview Tanai Bernard, a single mother of 3 who moved her kids from Texas all the way across the globe on a teacher’s salary and her story is interesting! The single black mother spoke about what prompted the move, the quality of life in the Middle East and dating Middle Eastern men. Peep some exerpts from her interview below. Why the UAE? Before discussing it with my now ex-husband, it was never on my radar. Our home in Texas was being rented out, so at that point it was either leave, be homeless, or move in with family. We liked the living standards the UAE offered. When I realized he was making no effort to get a passport, I stepped out on faith on my own with the kids. What type of work do you do there? I have an engineering degree, but I’m also a certified teacher. I currently teach math for Emirati girls. Since arriving in 2013, how do you feel the UAE has treated you as a single mom? It’s not as conservative as people think. The people, particularly the men, are quite accepting of my marital status. If anything, sometimes I feel some of the men are intimidated by it: Like, how can she do it all by herself? People automatically assume you’re married if you’re woman here. But I’ve never had an issue with being open about being a single mom. My family has been embraced since day one. My Emirati students are the most fascinated by my life. Because many are products of plural marriages, they see their own mothers struggle while their fathers support multiple households. They ask how I do it — balancing three kids while still finding time to enjoy my life. And some of the parents read my blog, so they’re familiar with me. But overall, the locals tend to be fascinated with my life because it’s not the norm here. Are you living comfortably in the UAE on a teacher’s budget and three kids? Absolutely! I recently celebrated my 32nd birthday on a yacht. There’s no way I could have afforded that in the U.S. My salary is comparable to what I made in the U.S. However, my employer covers my housing and health insurance for my children and me. Remove those costs, and you have a greater deal of disposable income. I can comfortably travel with my kids here. We’ve been to the Philippines, Bali, Italy, Cancun and Sri Lanka. Do you plan on coming back to the U.S.? Do I want to go back to struggling, living paycheck to paycheck? I’m an educator; I already know what my paycheck is going to look like. But we have a sweet deal here, the people are very welcoming, and the kids are happy being able to enjoy the same activities in the U.S. while seeing the world. Ultimately, I’m stuck deciding: Do I want to be closer to my family in the U.S., but that would mean going back to struggling [financially]? Or do I stay distanced from my family but maintain a better life for my kids and myself? Tanai is certainly brave for making such a huge move, do you think you could do it? TanaiBernard.com-Image

Earlier this week the death of a 3-year-old Syrian refugee who was trying to flee

Middle East Gas Station Viral Video of the Day

This is what they call viral pranks in the middle east…This is their version of Punk’d where the biggest asshole isn’t Ashton Kutcher, but rather a fuelling close up is a little too authentic for me…but I guess the humor in all this is that the media wants you to think the Middle East was capable of the biggest terrorist attack on US soil…when they are clearly more into goats. If you don’t like that…here’s a Traffic Dance video I don’t really understand and that is not that good If you don’t like that…here’s a dude falling through a toll booth floor in Asia, which may or may not where that Malaysian airline is hiding…

Latest Dance Moves in the Middle East of the Day

This is far more fun to watch than twerking, even though if the bitch is fat enough, twerking can be just as dangerous….even thought most girls twerking now aren’t the hot Jamaican floor slapping bitches who simulate sex I used to love, but 14 year old girls, who have no asses thanks to not hitting puberty, who just make the whole thing kinda awkward to watch…but then again, in every club I’ve been to the last 3 months, there’s been at least 5 girls who drop their asses to the ground like a stripper before busting into a twerk, something you’d think they’d be ashamed of looking silly while they do it, while being so glad they did it…kinda like these dudes with their Middle East Ho Down.

Janet Jackson’s Billionaire Hubby Stops The Checks From Coming In For Female Employee Who Filed Sex Assault Charges Against A Colleague!

We thought Janet’s hubby was a good guy , now we’re not so sure! The billionaire businessman reportedly fired an employee who filed a sex assault case against a colleague after an incident during a business trip earlier this year. Via VG.com reports : Billionaire Wissam Al Mana, husband of famous popstar Janet Jackson, signed the letter of termination for Marte Dalelv (24) after she reported being r@ped in Dubai. The 6th of March this year Dalelv reported a colleague for r@pe while on a business trip in Dubai. Earlier this week, Dalelv was sentenced to 16 months in prison after being convicted for having extramarital sex, drinking alcohol without permission and giving false statement to the police. Ms. Dalelv received a letter from her employer Al Mana Interiors three weeks after she reported the rape, informing her that she was suspended from her position, effective immediately. The ninth of April she got a new shocking letter: Her contract was terminated due to «unacceptable and improper behavior». This time it was the company’s managing director, Mr. Wissam Al Mana, who himself signed the letter. Al Mana writes the following in the letter he personally signed: Dear Ms. Dalelv, Further to the suspension letter notified to you on 20th March 2013, we hereby inform you that you employment with Al Mana Interiors W.L.L. is terminated for misconduct and breach of your employment duties, effective immediately. As mentioned is the suspension letter dated 20th March 2013, your employment agreement is termination due to your unacceptable and improper behavior during your last business trip in Dubai, which has resulted in your arrest by the Police Authorities in UAE. The full and final settlement of any outstanding benefits can be discussed wih Mr. XXXX XXXXXX. At the same time, you are requested to hand in any company property given to you on account of company work. The present letter has been given in accordance with article 61 of the Qatar Labour Law no 14 of (2004), and a copy of which will be submitted to the Labour Department, for their records. Sincerely, Wissam Al Mana Managing Director Dalelv is now living in the Norwegian Church Abroad in Dubai because she has run out of money due to the trial. It’s bad enough that this woman was allegedly assaulted — now she is fighting for her own freedom! SMH @ the bogus a$$ backwards laws that discriminate against women in the Middle East! This woman has lost her job and everything she worked hard for because she’s a woman and society there dictates that even if she was forced into sex with someone not her husband — she’s in the wrong. We weren’t there so we don’t know exactly what happened, but this seems so shady! Janet we hope you haven’t gotten yourself tied up with the wrong person AGAIN! Everything Is Racist Now!: Coke Super Bowl Ad Said To Be Racist By Arab-Americans! [Video]

Is this commercial racist, or is everything racist nowadays? NBC Reports: Arab-American groups have sharply criticized a Coca-Cola Super Bowl ad depicting an Arab walking through the desert with a camel, and one group said it would ask the beverage giant to change it before CBS airs the game on Sunday before an expected audience of more than 100 million U.S. viewers. “Why is it that Arabs are always shown as either oil-rich sheiks, terrorists, or belly dancers?” said Warren David, president of the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, or ADC. Coca-Cola released an online teaser of the commercial last week, showing the Arab walking through a desert. He soon sees cowboys, Las Vegas showgirls and a motley crew fashioned after the marauders of the apocalyptic “Mad Max” film race by him to reach a gigantic bottle of Coke. In its ad, Coke asks viewers to vote online on which characters should win the race. The online site does not allow a vote for the Arab character. “The Coke commercial for the Super Ball is racist, portraying Arabs as backward and foolish Camel Jockeys, and they have no chance to win in the world,” Imam Ali Siddiqui, president of the Muslim Institute for Interfaith Studies, said in an email. “What message is Coke sending with this?” asked Abed Ayoub, ADC’s director of legal and policy affairs. “By not including the Arab in the race, it is clear that the Arab is held to a different standard when compared to the other characters in the commercial,” he said. CBS declined comment. Coca-Cola spokeswoman Lauren Thompson said Coke took a “cinematic” approach with the ad, employing the characters as a nod to movies of the past. “Coca-Cola is an inclusive brand enjoyed by all demographics,” she said in an email. “We illustrate our core values, from fun and refreshment to happiness, inspiration and optimism across all of our marketing communications.” Ayoub said ADC intended to contact Coke and CBS Corp on Thursday to “hopefully start a dialog.” “I want to know why this happened and how can we fix this if possible before Sunday,” he said. The ADC garnered attention back in 1992 when it complained that lyrics in the Walt Disney animated film “Aladdin” were racist. Ronald Goodstein, professor at the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University, said he was surprised by the image as well. “If Coke’s vision is to be an arm’s distance away from every customer, why would they want to offend the Arab world?” said Goodstein. Ayoub said the commercial could harm Coke’s business with the Arab community. “Coke should understand and respect their consumers and have a better understanding of the market they are sharing,” he Ayoub. The company has a large market share in the Middle East and North Africa, he noted, and many convenience stores and other retail outlets in the United States that offer Coke are owned by Arab-Americans. Did You Know? NBC News Correspondent Richard Engel Has Been Missing In Syria For Over A Week!!!

Damn…we’re keepin’ this dude in our prayers . This doesn’t sound good at all and, according to The Daily Mail , the news of his disappearance has a lot of people worried: NBC News chief foreign correspondent Richard Engel, one of the most prominent and accomplished international correspondents in the world, is reportedly missing in Syria. Turkish newspaper Hurriyet reports that Engel, together with Turkish journalist Aziz Akyavaş, were last known to be in Syria and haven’t been in contact with NBC News since Thursday morning. While the Turkish media have been circulating the report for several days, American outlets had been operating under a news blackout requested by NBC until today. NBC colleague David Schuster is amongst those to have tweeted their concern about the missing journalist and author. Engels, who is divorced and doesn’t have children, was promoted to NBC News’s chief foreign correspondent in 2008. He runs NBC’s Middle East bureau and has been reporting on the ongoing conflict between rebels and forces backing Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. He last reported from inside Syria on December 11. He is also known as a regular Twitter user, but hasn’t tweeted since Dec 1. Engel is widely regarded for his coverage of wars, revolutions and political transitions around the world over the last 15 years. Most recently, he was recognized for his outstanding reporting on the 2011 revolution in Egypt, the conflict in Libya and unrest throughout the Arab world. We hope Engel and Akyavaş are ok.
