Love-Love: William and Kate Visit Wimbledon

Days before embarking on their first North American tour, Prince William and Kate Middleton relaxed a little on Monday with a visit to Wimbledon. The couple were greeted with an enthusiastic ovation as they took their seats in the front row of – where else – the Royal Box at Centre Court. William and Kate, who fittingly wore a white Temperley London dress to the most traditional of tennis contests, blushed a little at the adulation: The Duke and Duchess at Centre Court . A spokesman at St. James’s Palace said the couple, who honored UK troops at an event over the weekend, were at the sporting event “privately.” Kate Middleton loves tennis and plays regularly, having visited Wimbledon a number of times. William has been going to the event since he was a child. They were in their seats around 1 p.m. in time to support the UK’s own Andy Murray in his match against France’s Richard Gasquet in the Round of 16. Murray won. Jessica Simpson’s got a new fiance (Eric Johnson) and now a new job – as a celebrity mentor on NBC’s Fashion Star . Yep, that’s a real show. The 30-year-old’s singing career has petered out and her acting career never really took off, but her fashion line is remarkably successful. With a brand worth an estimated $750 million in 35 countries, Simpson will join Elle MacPherson in a search for the next big fashion brand . “NBC is delighted to work with singer, designer, actress and pop culture icon Jessica Simpson,” the network said in a statement. “With an almost billion dollar lifestyle brand under her belt she is sure to be an excellent mentor to our up-and-coming designers.” “I’m in the workroom in [L.A.’s] Westwood a few times a week from 11 to 7 at night,” says Simpson of her chic but affordable line. “Nothing goes out without me seeing it or my mom [Tina Simpson, Jess’ co-creative director] seeing it,” says the former Nick Lachey spouse. Pippa Middleton and George Percy: Back Together?

Pippa Middleton and George Percy, her ex-boyfriend, have been seen together a lot recently. Will they get back together amid her breakup with Alex Loudon ? The younger sister of Kate Middleton was all smiles last Wednesday evening as she grabbed dinner in central London with a familiar, handsome fellow. George Percy dined with Pippa, then they headed back to his apartment. The next morning, she was reportedly seen leaving Percy’s flat with a hug and kiss! Pippa and George Percy were also seen last month in Madrid, Spain (see above), in the weeks following the royal wedding of Kate and Prince William. The son of the Duke of Northumberland (one of England’s richest men), George Percy is a college friend of Middleton and now a co-worker of hers. Reports say Pippa took a job at Percy’s geothermal energy firm. The two were the subject of romance rumors even before the news that Middleton and Alex Loudon, her financier beau of over a year, have split. As of late last month, a Middleton pal said she and Percy remain platonic: “She loves George, but only as a best friend. The Violent Torpedo Of Truth tour is out. An Evening With Charlie Sheen is possibly in. During a radio interview with a Sydney station, the actor told host Scott Dooley he was planning to revamp his show a bit and take it overseas. “Why don’t I take this thing on the road to Australia, parts of Europe, parts of Asia. If I pick out six cities over two weeks and if it wasn’t about violent torpedoes and truth seeking but more about an evening with Charlie Sheen, if I told people what to expect maybe they wouldn’t heckle me like the drunk clowns that they are, ” Sheen said. The man really knows how to woo an audience, doesn’t he? Responding to criticism over his domestic tour, Sheen said it was “overbooked and it went on too long,” adding: “It wasn’t a question of my fatigue factor, but I had to keep digging a little deeper each night in the new cities to remind myself that it was new for them.” Now “relieved” to be done with it, Sheen concluded the discussion with a jab at Americans: “It would seem like the European mentalities would give me a little more time and a little more patience to actually listen and embrace a format like that, where they come in knowing what to expect.” To his credit, however, the star said all proceeds from any upcoming shows would go to his Torpedoes Against Tornados Foundation .

File this under things that are never gonna happen, but that Steven Hirsch throws out there anyway just to get his company’s name in the news. The Vivid Entertainment CEO is offering Pippa Middleton $5 million. Not even to star in a film, but for a single scene. Steve says Kate’s sister’s “beauty and attitude” could help her become a huge adult star. The fact that there is an arse appreciation society in her honor and some racy pics online won’t hurt. Hirsch is also offering $1 million to another Middleton – Kate and Pippa’s brother James – to appear on-screen. Okay, now this is just getting weird. In February 2009, Vivid offered Nadya Suleman $1 million to appear in a flick. She said no, but then Vivid reportedly bought the deed to her home. They are dedicated, if nothing else. Fortunately for Pippa Middleton, she’s not likely to be swayed by money, given her own assets, the fact that she’s now Prince William’s sister-in-law and her own wealthy BF Alex Loudon . Prince William and Kate Middleton are ready to do this thing. With just one week to go until next Friday’s royal wedding, the chaos is off the hook, but the couple remains clear-eyed and focused on what really counts. So says Archbishop of Canterbury Dr. Rowan Williams, who will conduct the marriage ceremony of Prince William and Kate Middleton at Westminster Abbey. “I’ve been very struck by the way in which William and Catherine have approached this great event,” the archbishop said , praising the royal couple. “They’ve thought through what they want for each other. They’ve had a very simple, very direct picture of what really matters about this event.” William and Kate realize that their vows carry unusual weight. They’re making a sacred promise to each other, and a royal pledge to the public. Even that doesn’t intimidate them, says Dr. Williams. “I think that they have a clear sense of what they believe they’re responsible to,” says the archbishop. “They’re responsible to the whole society.” “They’re responsible to God for their relationship. I think it’s impressive that they’ve had that simplicity about it, they’ve known what matters, what’s at the heart of all this, because I think they are deeply unpretentious people.” The archbishop calls on everyone watching the Royal Wedding to truly engage with the event as these two 29-year-olds enter holy matrimony. “William and Catherine are making this commitment very much in the public eye, and they’re both sensible, realistic young people,” he says. “They know what the cost might be, and because of that, they will need the support, solidarity and prayers of all those who are watching.” “We have to be witnesses in an active sense: the kind of witnesses who really support what’s going on. To be a witness is more than to be a spectator, and I hope that’ll be part of people’s experience at the time of the wedding.” In short: Clear eyes, full hearts, can’t lose. We know she’s got this big wedding thing coming up and all, but is Kate Middleton – looking very slender in a black dress and tan heels yesterday – getting too thin? A little more than one week to go before she marries Prince William on April 29, Kate stepped out for some last-minute shopping on London’s King’s Road. What do you think? Shedding for the wedding or going overboard? Personally, we think Kate still looks fabulous . Whatever she weighs, when she walks into Westminster Abbey, she should be looking radiant in her wedding dress, reportedly designed by Sophie Cranston .
