Michelle Duggar Admits to Eating Disorder

Michelle Duggar has come out and admitted that she suffered from bulimia as a teenager. The revelation about this reality star is actually shared in a book by her daughters – “Growing Up Duggar ” – which comes out March 4 and which initially disguises their mother’s struggles belonging to someone named “Marie.” “On the outside, Marie had what everyone else wanted, but on the inside, she felt sad and empty,” Jane, Jill, Jessa and Jinger write, adding: “She began to envy the girl who tried to control her weight through what turned out to be a destructive eating disorder. Not realizing how dangerous it was, Marie thought it might work for her, and soon her obsession to stay thin started controlling her life.” Many celebrities, of course, have battled eating disorders over the years. Demi Lovato checked into rehab for hers and Ke$ha is currently receiving professional help for one. As a teen, Michelle struggled for “self-acceptance,” according to the book, and it “led her into some difficult emotional times and a very destructive habit that could have destroyed her health.” Michelle and Bob Duggar are the parents of 19 kids and have shared chronicled their lives on TLC for many years.  “I have been open with my struggles with the kids before,” Duggar tells People. “We talk about how God has brought us out of different things along life’s way. When the girls were writing their book, they brought this up and I thought, if my sharing it is going to help another young lady, then I want to share it.”  Michelle says that she would spend three hours per day doing cheerleading and gymnastics a a student, but the weight remained and she would therefore force herself to vomit after many meals. She met and fell in love with Bob when she was 17 and she was open with him about her disorder as soon as her feelings became real. “I would call him,” Michelle says. “He told me to call him anytime. I just know that I would be tempted and I would have the crazy thought that I wanted to throw up, not hold onto the calories. Thank God it didn’t go on longer than it did or I could have done horrible damage to my body.” Duggar says she is now healthy and gives credits to Weight Watchers – chiefly its methods of accountability – for maintaining pounds in a healthy way.  “That solid accountability with another human being, a deep love and strong focus, was where I found freedom,” she says. “I was willing to be accountable before God and man. But the struggle was still there. That accountability was powerful.”

Katherine Heigl Broke? Actress Needs $150K in Donations to Fund New Movie

Katherine Heigl’s career is not what it used to be. The actress is set to star in the independent film Jenny’s Wedding … provided it can get funding. Producers for the Mary Agnes Donoghue-directed project have created an Indiegogo campaign, asking for donations to reach a goal of $150,000. “How’s the funding going?” TMZ asked the former Grey’s Anatomy star. “If your movie doesn’t getting the funding … would you be willing to fill in the extra amount?” “I haven’t made that much in the last few years, man,” said Heigl, who has two little kids with her husband Josh Kelley. “I gotta support my family.” According to the San Francisco-based crowdfunding site, Katherine’s would-be film has only raised $32,311 so far since it started on February 11. While many sources have jumped on that comment as evidence that Heigl is having financial problems, that’s probably unlikely, given her resume. Back in September, multiple film and TV insiders told the Hollywood Reporter that Heigl earned $12 million for her role in 2010’s Life as We Know It . Of course, she’s also been blacklisted by TV and movie industry insiders over her diva-like behavior, so who knows how little she’s made since. Heigl has finished shooting Jenny’s Wedding , which tells the story of Jenny Farrell (Heigl), who tells her conservative family that she’s a lesbian. She plans on marrying her roommate, Kitty (Alexis Bledel). Hey, If there’s celebrity girl-on-girl action , maybe she could use that as a crowdfunding selling point? It wouldn’t hurt, K-Heigs. Miley’s flat latex covered cakes turned out to be a bigger problem than we were previously led to believe . According to US Weekly reports : Robin Thicke and wife Paula Patton announced on Monday, Feb. 24 that they were calling it quits on their eight-year marriage. Though multiple sources told Us Weekly the split was a long time coming, a source close to the “Blurred Lines” singer tells Us that their marriage got even rockier after Thicke’s raunchy, headline-grabbing performance with Miley Cyrus at the 2013 VMAs. “The Miley Cyrus fiasco was a big test of their relationship,” the insider reveals of the lascivious “We Can’t Stop” and “Blurred Lines” mashup. “He asked her to help him out as a friend and a wife, and defend him and the performance. He begged her to speak out for him and be there for him.” “She agreed to be the good wife after he begged and pleaded,” the source explains. “Then he asked her to stick with him through awards season, and she agreed. She attended the Grammys with him as a favor.” Indeed, the Baggage Claim actress, 38, also appeared on the Today show on Sept. 18, and defended her husband’s controversial VMAs performance. “They rehearsed for three days. Robin told me in advance,” Patton said of Cyrus, 21, twerking with Thicke, 36. “I thought it was great.” When asked to share the secret to their happy marriage, Patton replied: “At the end of the day it’s love. We’re still madly in love.” “I’m not that uptight. I’m not a traditionalist,” she added. “We’re both artists and I want him to express himself however he feels, and he let’s me do the same.” Though Thicke and Patton put on a united front throughout awards season, the damage to their relationship was apparently already done. The couple, parents to son Julian, 3, released a joint statement announcing their separation on Monday. “We will always love each other and be best friends,” they told Us. “However, we have mutually decided to separate at this time.” “Their marriage was unraveling a long time,” the insider tells Us. “It is not a shock to Robin or Paula, and it is something they have discussed for a long time.” We don’t see anything blurry about this situation. Paula’s been poppin’ mollies and acting like a loopy Lucy at every awards show for the last two years and Robin’s had his hand or lips all over other broads every time we turn around. It definitely sounds like they need a break — even if it’s not a permanent one.

The Voice kicked off Season 6 with a wealth of talent last night, with Adam Levine seeking his third title and Blake Shelton his fourth on the NBC show. Adam may have the upper hand, having snagged Christina Grimmie and Dawn & Hawkes, but Usher secured a key team member Monday as well. Bria Kelly, 17, threw it DOWN with a growling version of James Taylor’s “Steamroller Blues” that had all four judges vying for her. Now that’s what I call some good tongue action! Although if you ask me, I thought it was a really big missed opportunity when Miley didn’t motorboat Katy for an encore.

Based on a new report, Selena Gomez might wanna worry less about taking down Miley Cyrus and more about her own well-being. About a month removed from rehab, the singer is still feelings the affects of being destroyed by Justin Bieber . So much so, in fact, that her friends are concerned about what will happen next to Selena. “It’s not humanly possible to recover from your rock bottom that quickly,” a pal tells Star. “She’s still very fragile and not coping with her problems at all.” It remains unclear just what the nature of those problems are, as the artist’s rep vehemently denies she required professional assistance last month due to substance abuse. Try telling that to Bieber, however. Justin and his friends supposedly insist that Gomez is a drunk who would often drink them under the table when the group partied together. But this latest report actually points to mental problems for the star, with one insider fearing a breakdown of Britney-Spears-shaves-her-head-and-attacks-people-with-an-umbrella proportions. “She’s jabbering to herself, and everyone is worried she’s about to pull a Britney,” says an anonymous source. “She’s a very troubled young girl, and if she doesn’t get it together, the psych ward could be next.” Oh my.
