She’s never taken an umbrella to a camerarman. But Miley Cyrus has gotten an extreme haircut. And that’s just one thing this singer has in common with Britney Spears, as Cyrus gushes over her famous friend in a new interview with Huffington Post UK. “Everyone goes through a time in their life where they don’t want their picture taken everyday,” the 20-year-old said of Spears . “She just never had that time where she could say, ‘I’m going through something right now and need to shut down.’ I also don’t have that, so it’s good to have that one person in my life who gets it.” In what way has Britney been a role model for Miley? Explains the latter: “I just think it’s never blaming you or making you feel like ‘you’ve got all this going for you,’ it’s like she knows. Sometimes life just steps in the middle of your career the way life always does for anyone – it’s just ours is a little more 24/7.” Miley has been more outspoken than usual this week. She espoused the use of marijuana . She outlined her views on gay marriage . In June, Spears Tweeted at Cyrus: “Loving your new video for #WeCantStop! Maybe you can teach me how to twerk sometime LOL.” Miley then replied with excitement: “We could twerk it out in exchange for u teaching me da moves 2 ‘slave for you’ (I’ve been practicing for the past 10 years.”

Like many in Hollywood, Miley Cyrus is mourning Cory Monteith . But unlike those who have simply flocked to social media in response to the Glee star’s death, Miley has taken actual action… and she wonders why others haven’t done the same. Miley Cyrus Entertainment Tonight Interview “I know that Cory had a foundation that he was interested in doing, and they put that out and said, ‘you know, if you want to be part of that make sure you donate to that,'” Miley says in a new interview with ET Canada. “And people so quickly go trend things on Twitter, but they don’t actually go push the button that’s actually helping.” You tell em, Miles! Among other topics touched on in the Q&A: Her critics : “Haters keep me mad motivated. People that are, I guess, jealous, that kind of just hate on me, make me want to do even better.” Her… gender? “I feel like a straight dude. You don’t even know what I’m rocking under this skirt. I feel like a straight man. I’m not even a dude, I’m a man. That’s why my voice is like this [deep and raspy].” (Miley also recently addressed rumors that she’s a lesbian telling those folks that they aren’t exactly insulting her with such an allegation.) Her post-Hannah Montana career : “Once I left my show I didn’t want anyone around that was going to tell me the way that I was going to do things. I wanted to go make mistakes, go be who I was going to be.” Her career aspirations : “I want to win a Grammy!”

Rebecca Black is turning heads along with fellow singer Jon D. for an acoustic cover of Miley Cyrus’ “We Can’t Stop” that hit YouTube on Friday (obviously). It doesn’t suck as hard as you’d think for a Rebecca Black song, either! Seriously, the harmonizing between Becks and Jon is rather beautiful at times (we’re not being sarcastic), making Miley’s risque hit almost melodious: Rebecca Black – We Can’t Stop (Acoustic Miley Cyrus Cover) If you’ve seen the Miley Cyrus “We Can’t Stop” music video , you know it’s all about Twerking , strip clubs, cocaine, getting it in … any taboo you can think of. Black, 16, clearly modified the lyrics to make it more of a PG version. If nothing else, you’ve got to hand it to Rebecca for perseverance. Given the bullying she endured over “Friday,” it’s amazing she’s still producing music. Much-improved music, no less. Don’t you agree?

Drake was denied entry to the Miami Heat locker room yesterday evening in amusing fashion, but made up for the slight later by partying with the team. The Heat finished off the visiting San Antonio Spurs in Game 7 Thursday, then polished off MANY bottles of champagne late into the South Beach night. LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and company hit Story nightclub in Miami, partying until 5:30 this morning with Pat Riley, Gabrielle Union and yes, Drake : Drake Parties With LeBron Miami Heat Drake is famously tight with LeBron James, as the above clip shows, but even that wasn’t enough to get him into the locker room right after the win. Arena security negged the rapper as he attempted to come congratulate his boys, telling him “This is media, pure media.” Drake’s reply? “I am media.” LOL.
