Yvette Wilson passed away from cancer a few days ago, and while the actress’ death has left Nicki Minaj in tears, it’s also left her irate. At the American health care system. In a series of Tweets posted not long after Wilson died, Minaj went off on current policy and even addressed President Barack Obama at one point. “What’s sad is that when Yvette was bringing home the bacon, the gov’t was probably taking millions. On her deathbed though, #Nowheretobefound,” Nicki wrote. “That should be a God given right! Even with Obama Care, too much involved. Just give FREE health care to all. @barackobama What can we do? “@BarackObama I wouldn’t mind the millions they took if it was going to healthcare. Why should a poor person struggle to pay for MEDS sir?” The President, of course, is too busy helping Amanda Bynes avoid a DUI charge, but Member Questo of The Roots replied to Minaj’s Tweets with one of his own: “@NICKIMINAJ i personally know that the white house administration would LOVE for you to use ur tweet power to raise health care awareness.” Are you in favor of universal health care, readers?
‘No person that works with me will be disrespected in my presence as long as I’m on this planet,’ Weezy tells MTV News of his decision. By Rob Markman, with reporting by FLX Lil Wayne Photo: All Weezy wants is a little respect. After Nicki Minaj was insulted by a Hot 97 radio DJ, Lil Wayne made an executive decision and pulled his Young Money queen from the station’s Summer Jam concert . When MTV News caught up with Tunechi to talk about the incident for the first time, he didn’t throw stones or hurl insults at the New York City station, but simply stressed the importance of a certain seven-letter word. “That’s a female; first and foremost Nicki Minaj is a female. I don’t know what anyone else believes, but I believe females deserve the ultimate respect at all times no matter, when or where or how,” the multiplatinum rapper told MTV News on Saturday while backstage at Hot 107.9 ‘s Birthday Bash in Atlanta. Minaj was slotted to close out the yearly rap extravaganza on June 3 and was planning to bring out Nas, Lauryn Hill, Foxy Brown, Cam’ron and Lil Wayne during her set. That plan went south after outspoken Hot 97 personality Peter Rosenberg downed Nicki’s pop single “Starships” in front of concertgoers, prompting Wayne to pull the plug on all YMCMB Summer Jam performances, including Nicki’s and DJ Khaled’s. “As soon as she called me and told me she felt disrespected, I just declined everything,” Weezy told us. “I pulled her from the show because … no person that works with me will be disrespected in my presence as long as I’m on this planet.” Wayne feels Nicki should have gotten the royal treatment from the radio station and its employees. “I expect the red carpet, in her manner; the pink carpet should be laid out for her,” he said. “It’s just an executive move, no salt, no bad feelings, no hard feelings.” Many, including Hot 97 veteran DJ Funkmaster Flex, criticized Minaj for not taking the stage, but Lauryn Hill issued a statement supporting Nicki’s decision. “I don’t have details on exactly what transpired between the station and the artists, but I do support artists standing by their beliefs and walking with integrity,” Weezy agrees. “I feel like a woman should be respected at all times, therefore I made the right decision,” he said. Do you agree? This lady sounds like a homewrecking slore but some of what she says kinda makes sense. For example — unmarried men in their 40′s are either players or lack social skills and that married men know how to treat women better because they’ve been trained. What do you think? Via RadarOnline : Most women would be ashamed for wrecking over 50 homes by stealing other women’s husbands, but Karen Marley is proud of her illicit exploits and has vowed only to date married men. The 45-year-old serial mistress, who not surprisingly is divorced herself, defended her X-rated actions by claiming that, “Married men are better trained,” reported the Mirror.co.uk. “Married men have had all their rough edges sanded off by their wives and know how to behave around a lady. “I’ve learned that a single man in his 40s is single for a reason,” the buxom blonde from North Yorkshire, England, revealed. “Either he has no social etiquette whatsoever or he’s a player, just looking for his next wrestle.” Marley even confessed that she finds a wedding ring to be “an aphrodisiac” and considers her boyfriends’ wives to be the “other woman,” in her hook ups, bragging that they should be happy it is her their husband strayed with and not a woman who wants to keep them. “I’m the perfect mistress. I am never going to ask them to leave their wives for me. Most mistresses do, but not me. If I asked him to leave his wife, in every argument from then on he would say: ‘Do you know what I gave up for you?’ I don’t ever want to be part of that,” she said. “I don’t want to steal someone’s else husband for good, just borrow him for a while. I know some women will despise me. But I am not the temptress here. I am not the evil mistress or a home-wrecking b****.” Karen actively seeks out men with rings on their fingers on the sleazy dating site, IllicitEncounters.com, which markets itself as a “discreet & confidential extra-marital dating service for women & men.” Experienced above the sheets as well as under them, “I know how to behave as a mistress – and I don’t just mean in bed,” revealed Farley. “I would never ring one of my married men at home at 2am or at the weekend because that’s their time with their family. I would never throw a hissy fit if they don’t spend Valentine’s, Easter or Christmas with me.” When she has been approached by jealous wives, Karen has denied having an affair with their husbands “because that is cruel,” and said she does have some standards. “I don’t pounce on my friends’ other halves.” Do you believe she wouldn’t let her friends hubbies chop? Cuz we don’t… What do you think of what this woman is saying? Do you think there are a lot of women like her out there? Do you agree with her logic?

But Doctor Dre tells ‘RapFix Live’ Nicki should have played Summer Jam: ‘You go out there and you perform for your fans.’ By Rob Markman, with reporting by Sway Calloway Nicki Minaj Photo: Kevin Mazur/ WireImage When it comes to Nicki Minaj versus Hot 97 , it’s hard not to have an opinion. And, of course, Sunday’s Summer Jam drama came up during Wednesday’s (June 6) “RapFix Live.” During the special episode, MTV News correspondent Sway Calloway shared hosting duties with “Yo! MTV Raps” legends Ed Lover and Doctor Dre, who weighed in on the situation. “You can’t look at anybody that crosses over and achieves pop appeal as a sellout, because that’s what you’re trying to do when you put a record out,” Ed Lover said. “So if Nicki Minaj ain’t real hip-hop, then Public Enemy wasn’t real hip-hop, then Run-DMC wasn’t real hip-hop, then Eminem ain’t real hip-hop.” After Hot 97 DJ Peter Rosenberg criticized Nicki’s “Starships” single, suggesting the track wasn’t real hip-hop, Minaj’s Young Money boss Lil Wayne decided to cancel the Summer Jam performance. According to Doctor Dre, that’s a no-no: The show must go on. “First of all, Nicki Minaj was the only one who ruined 55,000 fans’ expectations of the night. It has nothing to do with Rosenberg. You go out there and you perform for your fans,” he said. While Dre feels that Nicki should have performed that night, he also believes Rosenberg was out of line. “We have too many what I call ‘semi-super experts’ who always try to redefine hip-hop from its infancy,” he argued. In the late 1990s, Ed and Dre hosted “Yo! MTV Raps,” and on Thursday, they will be the subjects of VH1’s new Rock Doc “Yo: The Story of Yo! MTV Raps.” During their iconic run, they’ve interviewed artists such as 2Pac, the Notorious B.I.G. and Rakim, just to name a few. They’ve seen many artists come and go. “She’s an artist whether I like her or I don’t like her. My daughter loves her and thinks that she’s the world, and that’s the case,” Dre said before issuing a challenge to Rosenberg. “You make your record and get in the ring and let’s see how you react, whether you start to sell out or not.” Where do you stand in the Young Money/ Summer Jam drama? ‘I would still have to be someone who could wisecrack,’ Clark Gregg tells MTV News about his future at Marvel. By Josh Wigler, with reporting by Kara Warner Clark Gregg Photo: MTV News Alas, poor Coulson — we knew him well. “Avengers” director Joss Whedon is known for killing off fan-favorite characters to heighten the stakes of his stories — we’re still pouring one out for Serenity flyboy Wash all these years later. In the Marvel superhero flick, it wasn’t one of Earth’s mightiest heroes who bit the bullet, but the much beloved S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Phil Coulson who lost his life at the hands of Asgardian bad boy Loki. Of course, this is a comic book property we’re talking about, and in comics, no one stays dead for long. That idea has kept Coulson fans feeling optimistic about the possible return of actor Clark Gregg to the Marvel movie universe at some point down the line, with his resurrection as popular character Vision the current leading theory. Speaking with MTV News in the lead-up to the 2012 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday (June 3), Gregg opened up about returning to the Marvel universe as the Avengers’ resident android . “Vision is cool,” he said. “But I would hate to be any AI life form. If I got to come back, I would need to still be somebody who could wisecrack, because my favorite part of the job was that if anybody was going to tease anybody about their diva superhero outfit or whatever, it would be me.” Indeed, while Gregg has “seen a lot of theories” about Coulson’s return — “I love what people are doing with that,” he said — he’s just as happy to let his character rest in peace. “I really love what Joss did with Agent Coulson in ‘The Avengers,’ ” he said. “It seems like an idea that was in the cards, not only from Joss but from Marvel, in that you needed to ground the movie in some real emotion and stakes. I loved playing that guy, and I’ll miss playing him, but I was glad to have that job.” Coulson’s fate will remain a hotly debated topic for many weeks to come, we’re sure. But even if the hard-nosed S.H.I.E.L.D. agent is gone for good, that doesn’t mean Gregg can’t visit the set of “Avengers 2,” right? “That might be hard. I might be sad,” he said. Then again … “I guess I would [visit the set] if I was dressed up as a sentient android,” he teased. Head over to MovieAwards.MTV.com to vote for your favorite flicks now! ‘Saddened to learn one of my precious fans; found tragically murdered in Japan,’ Minaj tweets Thursday of Nicola Furlong’s death. By Nadeska Alexis Nicki Minaj Photo: UMG Nicki Minaj ‘s Pink Friday Tour touched down in Tokyo, Japan, last week, and following one of the rapper’s colorful stage shows, things took a devastating turn: One of Minaj’s fans was murdered after attending the May 25 concert. On Thursday (May 31), Minaj took to Twitter to send condolences and deny allegations that her dancer was involved in the incident. “Saddened to learn one of my precious fans; found tragically murdered in Japan. My love & prayers are with the family of Nicola Furlong,” Nicki wrote . Saddened to learn one of my precious fans; found tragically murdered in Japan. My love & prayers are with the family of Nicola Furlong. — Nicki Minaj (@NICKIMINAJ) May 31, 2012 The 21-year-old fan, a foreign exchange student from Dublin City University in Ireland, was found dead in a Tokyo hotel room after attending Minaj’s show at Zepp Tokyo a few hours earlier. An early report on PerezHilton.com stated that Furlong and her friend Sarah Maher linked up with Minaj’s backup dancer James Blackston and another musician, Larry Perry, after the show, heading to the men’s hotel rooms. Furlong was later found strangled to death in the room, while Maher reported that she was sexually assaulted by both men in a taxi. After sending her condolences to the slain fan’s family, Minaj addressed rumors that her dancer was involved, tweeting directly at the celebrity gossip blogger. “My dancers had nothing to do w/this tragedy. No one in my entourage was questioned or arrested. They all flew home from Japan,” she wrote. “That person on your [site] is NOT my dancer. We do NOT know the men in custody. Too much misleading information.” According to IrishCentral , Tokyo police have released a statement confirming that they arrested two American men in connection with the crime. James Blackston, 26, and an unidentified 19-year-old have been taken into custody. “These two men allegedly took advantage of a female unable to resist due to the fact she was in a comatose state from a highly alcoholic beverage,” the report states, adding, “As that is an indecent act, they have been charged with quasi forcible indecency.” The police also confirm Maher’s story of being harassed in the taxi, noting, “On a taxi ride between Shibuya and Shinjuku, they took advantage of a woman by touching her body.” Furlong’s body is expected to arrive in her hometown of Curracloe, Ireland, on Thursday, where she will be laid to rest. The 21-year-old was studying at the Takasaki City University of Economics in Takasaki, Japan. Related Artists Nicki Minaj
‘I wouldn’t dare come on your stage and say something negative about Hot 97,’ Minaj says in heated radio interview. By Nadeska Alexis Nicki Minaj Photo: Kevin Winter/ Getty Images Hip-hop beefs come and go, and while some battles are fought lyrically and others are resolved under wraps, once in awhile they need to be aired out on public radio. Nicki Minaj called in to New York City’s Hot 97 on Monday night to do the latter, and she demanded that her conversation with DJ Funkmaster Flex be aired uncut and unedited. The YMCMB rapper was tuning in to address the controversy that started on Sunday when she pulled out of Hot 97’s annual Summer Jam concert in New Jersey after a brief tweet from Lil Wayne that read, “Young Money ain’t doing summer jam.” Word had gotten back to Weezy that Hot 97 personality Peter Rosenberg had disrespected Minaj, calling her single “Starships” “wack” and panning it for not being “real hip-hop.” To fans who were not at the show or watching the Summer Jam live stream, the first indication that things had gone sour were a series of tweets from Minaj’s account such as, “Wow. U ni–az just f—ed up history. But the President has spoken. #YMCMB.” During their heated discussion, which opened with Flex admitting that they’d already been arguing for an hour, Nicki Minaj was adamant in insisting that Rosenberg chose the wrong time and place to voice his negative opinions. “It’s not about his opinion, because I have opinions about DJs on Hot 97 and I have opinions on Hot 97,” she said. “But when it’s about us uniting people [for] your show, I wouldn’t dare come on your stage and say something negative about Hot 97, leading up to that concert.” “My fans at Summer Jam didn’t appreciate his comments, nor did my fans who were watching the live stream appreciate his comments,” she added. “This is streaming to the world. Nicki Minaj opened up that stream to show to kids in London and Paris. It was hosted on my website and those requests came from your station. I posted the links.” Flex countered that Nicki was overreacting when she listened to Lil Wayne and pulled out of the show, and he accused her of riling up fans on Twitter before dealing with the issue internally. But Minaj wasn’t having any of it, maintaining that what Weezy says goes. “I don’t go against the president of my label. Before I had New York radio, I had Wayne,” she said emphatically. “I will never go against Wayne. I can’t believe after all these years, he’s still teaching me. After a man goes onstage and disrespects me and tries to rile people up, I still was going on that stage, and shame on me. Lil Wayne gave me a valuable lesson in self-worth. He tweeted before he called me, and when I spoke to him he said, ‘Nick, we ain’t doing that show.’ ” Minaj explained that the attack felt extra-vindictive since she was the only woman on the roster (but not because she was the only woman on the roster), and plenty of yelling and screaming took place, sometimes punctuated by Minaj repeating Flex’s name slowly, in an effort to calm him down. One final issue that she needed to address was Flex’s earlier radio rant, when he defended Rosenberg and Hot 97 and made questionable remarks about her music sales . “When you give stats to the world, people listen to you, and it’s important that people know Nicki Minaj is actually out here selling records, singles and making money for Universal,” she said, rattling off the sales numbers she’s raked in with Pink Friday and Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, topping it off with my favorite line, “I get money.” It wouldn’t be completely accurate to say that things ended on a positive note, but it seems like Minaj had the upper hand here. Flex admitted that Rosenberg could’ve picked a better time to criticize her, and she still stuck by Wayne’s decision to pull her out of the show, reiterating, “This is my hometown. I wanted to come onstage for my fans, my Barbz, my babies.” When Flex made one final joking attempt to get an apology out of her, you can probably guess the tone of her response. “Excuse me?” No radio station that allowed someone to disrespect me is getting an apology.” What do you think about Minaj pulling out of the show following Rosenberg’s remarks?
