The Top 8 finalists have been announced on The Voice results show. Monday, the surviving members of Team Usher, Team Adam, Team Blake and Team Shakira sang their hearts out – for two hopefuls, it was their final effort. Who advanced after America selected its best 8 from the 10? Let’s find out! There’s no requirement that a certain team have any number of singers, so it’s everyone for himself/herself at this point after the rehearsals conclude. The Voice results for the Top 10 performances were as follows: Safe artists: Team Blake : The Swon Brothers, Danielle Bradbery and Holly Tucker! Team Shakira : Sasha Allen! Team Usher : Michelle Chamuel! Team Adam : Sarah Simmons, Judith Hill and Amber Carrington! Eliminated artists: Team Shakira : Kris Thomas! Team Usher : Josiah Hawley! It’s looking like Adam vs. Blake, as Usher and Shakira are already down to one artist, while Adam’s all-girl roster and Blake’s country team go strong. Well, what do you think? Are you satisfied with America’s choices? Did the right singers advance on The Voice? Comment below!
Kicking off The Voice results show last night was a tribute to Oklahoma tornado victims, as resident coach Blake Shelton hails from that very state. He and wife Miranda Lambert live just 100 miles away from Moore, the city devastated by the massive Oklahoma tornado that killed at least 24 people. The duo offered a subdued performance of their hit song “Over You” in tribute, while donation information for The Red Cross was presented on-screen. Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton co-wrote the song in honor of Blake’s older brother who passed away when he was a teenager, so it was a fitting choice. Watch their moving performance below: Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert – Over You (The Voice) Blake, Miranda and countless others invite you to help the Oklahoma tornado victims by donating at redcross.org or calling 1-800 HELP NOW.
Miranda Lambert, Luke Bryan and Eric Church each picked up four nominations on Monday for the 2013 CMT Awards, to be held June 5 in Nashville. Fellow country veterans Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney and Rascal Flatts, as well as first-time nominees Florida Georgia Line, earned three nods each. Carrie Underwood, the frontrunner at last year’s CMT Awards nominations with an impressive five (and won video of the year), has two nods this year. She is joined by Taylor Swift , Brad Paisley, Tim McGraw, Hunter Hayes, Jana Kramer, Kacey Musgraves, Little Big Town and the rock group Journey. Lambert’s “Mama’s Broken Heart” is up for video of the year and female video of the year. She’s also up for group video and CMT performance of the year. Bryan and Church, will square off in the same four categories: video of the year, male video, collaborative video and CMT performance of the year. It will be a busy night for the newly-single Jason Aldean , who, along with his three nominations, is co-hosting the show with actress Kristen Bell. Along with Aldean, Lambert has also made celebrity gossip headlines of late, thanks to the (alleged) rough patch she and Blake Shelton have hit. In any case, it’s all about the music on this occasion. Congrats to the CMT Awards nominees of 2013!

Miranda Lambert didn’t just earn the Female Vocalist of the Year at last night’s Academy of Country Music Awards . She earned a special place in our hearts for an emotional, humble speech in which the superstar said Carrie Underwood “damn well” deserved the honor instead. “Last night, a huge dream of mine came true,” Lambert added while choking back tears. “I went from being a little girl singing in a hairbrush to watching Shania Twain with Faith Hill and Reba McEntire and Kelly Clarkson. I cried all night because I’ll never not be a fan of those beautiful women.” It was quite a moment. Relive it below: Miranda Lambert Wins!
The best type of superhero is one that swears. If we could get some more F-bombs from Batman or Iron Man, maybe those movies could actually make some money. Enter Kick-Ass and Hit-Girl, two of the most foul-mouthed teenaged superheroes around. Check out the first red band trailer for Kick-Ass 2 , which also features a nearly-unrecognizable Jim Carrey: Kick-Ass 2 Red Band Trailer Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Chloe Moretz return as Kick-Ass and Hit-Girl, two “real life” superheroes (in the world of the film…it’s confusing, I know) bent on protecting the city from a-holes. The film is adapted from the comic book of the same name. Christopher Mintz-Plasse (who had some hilarious Superbad quotes as McLovin), Clark Duke, John Leguizamo, Morris Chestnut, and Donald Faison also star. You can see Kick-Ass 2 in theaters beginning August 16.
Okay, Life & Style admits in its latest issue, there was no Blake Shelton affair . The Voice judge did not actually cheat on his superstar wife, as a previous cover story alleged via capital letters and misleading wording. But Shelton did reportedly get kind of close to a 23-year old old artist named Cady Groves… and Lambert was none too pleased about the interaction! As a result, the magazine claims Lambert actually called Groves on more than one occasion and warned her to stay away from her man. What was THE SHOCKING OUTCOME of this confrontation, as the above headline screams? You’ll need to pick up the latest issue of Life & Style in order t o waste your money on a complete non-story to find out! NOTE : Also included in this edition, proof that Keeping Up the Kardashians is scripted .
