Adele Tells Vogue She’s ‘Done With Being A Bitter Witch’

Grammy winner graces the March cover and tells the magazine that she’s ‘never writing a breakup record again.’ By Jocelyn Vena Adele Photo: Jeff Kravitz/ FilmMagic Shortly after winning six Grammy Awards on Sunday (February 12) night, Adele told reporters in the press room that “it hasn’t really sunk in,” and in a just released interview and cover story with Vogue (which had been rumored late last year), she opened up about her pre-Grammys nerves and her hope that she would take home some Grammy gold for her chart-topping, record-breaking 21 . “I burst into tears when I found out,” she told the magazine about her nominations. “And I would love, absolutely love, to win. This record is coming to an end, and that would be the final brick on it.” (She eventually went on to sweep the show, winning the night’s big prizes, Record of the Year and Album of the Year.) On Sunday, she triumphantly returned to the stage to characteristically belt out her star-making breakup track, “Rolling in the Deep.” And when she spoke to Vogue in late 2011 for the interview, she already knew that was the song she wanted to return with. “I’m definitely going to be singing ‘Rolling in the Deep,’ ” she teased. “Because that’s been the biggest hit off the record in America. But I’m going to mix up a little bit — do a bit of a Beyonc

J. Cole, Missy Elliott Share A ‘Beautiful Moment’ On Video Set

‘It’ll probably be my best video yet,’ Cole tells MTV News of his ‘Nobody’s Perfect’ video on the Grammy red carpet Sunday night. By Rob Markman, with reporting by Sway Calloway J. Cole Photo: Johnny Nunez/ WireImage J. Cole may have started with a dollar and a dream on his 2007 mixtape The Come Up, but the Roc Nation MC has amassed so much more since releasing his major-label debut, Cole World: The Sideline Story, last year. He earned himself a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist , and even though he lost out to Bon Iver on Sunday night, Cole lived out another dream this past week: shooting a video with his idol Missy Elliott . “We just shot the video with Missy Elliott for ‘Nobody’s Perfect.’ My god, that was a moment — that was a moment,” Cole told Sway from the Grammy red carpet right before the big show. In the late 1990s, Missy, who had already spent years behind the scenes as a songwriter, made her mark with a string of hit singles starting with 1997’s “The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly).” Her music really had an impact on then-teenaged Cole, so shooting the video for the next single off of Cole World means just a bit more to him. “I can tell you Colin Tilley directed it, incredible visuals. It’ll probably be my best video yet, visually,” he said before gushing about Elliott. “Man, just to have Missy on that set and to see her singing the song that I wrote. It’s Missy, I don’t think people really understand; that’s my era and how I look at her and how creative she is and her and Timbaland and the things that they did. That was a beautiful moment right there.” Cole is excited about all of his recent strides, but in no way is the MC content. He revealed to Sway that he plans to hit the road for a four-week college tour and that he was in the lab working on his sophomore album. Not that he would reveal anything beyond that. “I won’t give details; I learned my lesson from the last one,” he said. “But I’m back to work heavy.” What do you think of J. Missy Elliott And Timbaland To Drop Solo LPs In June

‘We want to do it as a movement,’ Timbo tells MTV News of releasing new material at the same time. By Rob Markman, with reporting by Ricky Louis Timbaland Photo: MTV News Timbaland and Missy Elliott make a perfect musical match. Though it’s been a while since we’ve seen the two in full swing, the Virginia duo will join forces once again in a very big way later this year. “Me and Missy are both coming with our albums at the same time, and it will be in June,” Timbo told MTV News in his Miami home February 3. It’s been three years since Timbaland released Shock Value II and seven years since Missy dropped The Cookbook. If all goes according to plan, fans won’t have to wait much longer. “Right now, we’re preparing to get both our videos, our first singles, shot kinda at the same time,” Tim said. “We want to do it as a movement and spontaneously.” Last June, Missy revealed to People magazine she had been diagnosed with the autoimmune disorder Graves’ disease. Initially, it was speculated that Missy’s health was the cause of the huge gap in her discography, though Elliott later issued a statement dismissing that notion. The “Get Ur Freak On” rapper has been putting in plenty of work behind the scenes as a songwriter and producer for Keyshia Cole, Monica and Jazmine Sullivan. She even hooked up with Timbo on Demi Lovato’s “All Night Long” from the pop singer’s 2011 Unbroken album. Missy is also a guest vocalist on J. Cole’s next single, “Nobody’s Perfect,” and is expected to appear in the song’s upcoming video. It all seems like an exciting build to a triumphant return for both artists. “I just don’t want to move too ahead of her and she don’t want to move too ahead of me,” Timbaland said. “So we’re both doing it at the same time.” What do you think of Timbaland and Missy’s plan to drop their new albums at the same time? See the original post here:

They ask how your presentation/test/interview/trial went. 3. They call you. On the phone. 4. You allow yourself to be photographed with them. 5. They spend the night, you both sleep in and then get brunch the next day. 6. The two of you are hanging out. Sober. Not hungover. 7. You kiss as a greeting (not just as a pathway to sex or out of obligation in the morning). 8. They invite you out to the bar with their friends before they’re ready to leave. 9. They loaned you a book. (You don’t loan a booty call a book.) 10. They accidentally call you “baby” (not in bed). GET THE REST HERE! Biggie’s Mom Has Lil’ Kim Removed From Monica Single

Read more:

Newlywed R&B star Monica has found herself in the middle of a family feud. The ATL  singer recently collaborated with Rick Ross, Missy Elliott and Lil’ Kim for the single, “Anything.” The song samples David Porter’s “I’m Afraid the Masquerade Is Over” used for the Notorious B.I.G’s classic “Who Shot Ya?” and the Queen Bee cribs a few lines from the Biggie hit in her verse. (Listen below) According to Monica’s twitter account Biggie’s mother Voletta Wallace has stopped the single from being released because Lil’ Kim appears on the song. As custodian of Biggie’s estate, Ms. Wallace approves any samples of her late son’s music. “I am just finding out what has happened to my single and myself & Missy are beyond hurt that @LilKim was removed. She’s our friend, a legend,” Monica wrote. “Lil Kim will get the respect she deserves at all cost. The clearance was revoked and I’m fighting to get it reinstated by the Biggie Estate.” Ms. Wallace and Lil’ Kim have been engaged in a very public feud over the past few years, most recently over Kim’s portrayal in the biopic Notorious . Based on Monica’s tweets, the song would not be cleared unless Lil’ Kim’s vocals were removed. Despite her displeasure, Monica maintained her respect for Ms. Wallace and did not take sides, insisting that she “respects all parties involved” and hopes to have the song reinstated with Lil’ Kim featured. Lil’ Kim has taken the high road thus far simply writing, “I want ya’ll to know that Missy Elliot and Monica Brown have been going hard a s mothaf*cka for this situation. I love them so much! We are planning something even BIGGER for you guys.” WARNING: EXPLICIT CONTENT What do you think? Should Biggie’s mom let this one go or do you think she did the right thing blocking the record? Missy Elliot is known for her catchy lyrics and Timbaland produced beats but we’d be remissed if we said we didn’t notice her style. During an era where plus size women weren’t praised in entertainment, Missy pushed the envelope with her daytime look— track suits and heavy jewelry and her music video ensembles often consisting of a bald head, bold lipsticks and even garbage receptacles. Whether she’s rocking a trash bag or thousand dollar designer wear, Missy’s undeniably a standout, so in celebration of her birthday today let’s take a look back at her style.
