California woman claims Bieber fathered her baby. By Gil Kaufman Justin Bieber Photo: WireImage Justin Bieber is vigorously denying the claims made by a 20-year-old California woman who says in a lawsuit that the 17-year-old singer is the father of her newborn baby. “While we haven’t yet seen the lawsuit, it’s sad that someone would fabricate malicious, defamatory and demonstrably false claims,” Bieber’s publicist said in a statement released on Tuesday. “We will vigorously pursue all available legal remedies to defend and protect Justin against these allegations.” Radar Online reports that Mariah Yeater claims she had unprotected sex with Bieber a year ago in a backstage area at one of the singer’s concerts and that her three-month-old baby is his. According to an upcoming issue of Star magazine, “in a hand-signed affidavit, sworn under the penalty of perjury, Yeater told a California court that Bieber propositioned her on October 25 of last year, when she was 19. The pair had a sexual tryst after his concert and backstage at L.A.’s Staples Center, it’s alleged in court papers.” The affidavit requests that the court compel Bieber to undergo a paternity test to prove whether the child, named Tristan, is his and then to provide “reasonable child support, effective immediately.” Bieber, who confirmed in March that he was dating Disney star Selena Gomez, has discussed his opposition to casual sex in the past. He told Rolling Stone magazine in February that, “I don’t think you should have sex with anyone unless you love them.” According to Yeater, Bieber would have been 16 at the time of the alleged encounter. A court hearing is set for December. The allegation comes at an awkward time for Bieber, who just released his first Christmas album, Under the Mistletoe, with a portion of the proceeds earmarked for a variety of charities aimed at education, youth well-being and music. Following the death of one stuntman and the injury of another, the film’s production company releases a statement clarifying previous reports. By Kevin P. Sullivan Sylvester Stallone in “The Expendables” Photo: Lionsgate Nu Image/Millennium Films has identified the stuntman who died on the Bulgarian set of “The Expendables 2” on October 27. Stuntman Kun Lieu was killed in an on-set explosion . The production company behind the all-star action sequel released a statement Tuesday (November 1) clarifying previous reports and updating the status of the second stuntman injured in the explosion. The second stuntman, Nuo Sun, was also injured in the explosion and was reportedly in critical condition when reports of the accident hit late last Thursday. A new statement released by Nu/Image Millennium Films updated his status, and Sun is now in stable condition in a hospital in Munich, where he was transported to undergo treatment by specialists. The statement also corrected claims made by Bulgarian newspapers that inaccurately identified the stuntmen as the doubles for Sylvester Stallone and Jet Li and asserted that the those stuntmen were nowhere near the set at the time of the incident. The production company also reconfirmed previous reports that neither the stars nor director Simon West were present for the accident. The full statement from Nu Image/Millennium Film follows: “Our deepest condolences go to the family of Kun Lieu. His passing is tragic. Our sympathies also go to Nuo Sun, who was seriously injured as a result of the same explosion. We have been informed his condition has stabilized. He has been transported to Munich, Germany, where he is receiving top medical care from the best specialists,” the statement reads. “Regrettably, Bulgarian language newspapers have incorrectly reported that stunt doubles for Jet Li and Sylvester Stallone were involved in the accident. This is absolutely false and inaccurate. At the time of the accident neither Li’s or Stallone’s stuntmen were on or near the Second Unit set, nor were any of the film’s main actors, director Simon West or any of the Main Unit crew. “Only Second Unit filming has been temporarily suspended and will resume shortly. The filmmakers continue to work with authorities investigating this accident. Main Unit production has not been interrupted and continues as scheduled.” “Expendables 2” is scheduled to hit theaters next August and stars Stallone, Li, Jason Statham , Bruce Willis , Arnold Schwarzenegger , Chuck Norris and Jean-Claude Van Damme . Under the Mistletoe collaborators tell teen singer, ‘You’ve got to have your wits about you,’ during ‘Fa La La’ recording session. By Jocelyn Vena Shawn Stockman and Justin Bieber Photo: LiveWire Entertainment Justin Bieber and Boyz II Men are singing “Fa La La” on the young singer’s new Christmas album, Under the Mistletoe, released Tuesday (November 1). When the group hit the studio with Bieber in September, the recording session made headlines, and the moment marked a triumph for the teen star. The Boyz have been heroes for the singer since he was just a kid growing up in Canada. So, when they all went in to work on the track, Shawn Stockman and the guys had some advice for the 17-year-old as he continues on his path of pop superstardom. “He’s a fan of our music,” Stockman told MTV News. “So him being in the studio and everything, when we were singing the parts, and he’s bugging out, and we got a chance to talk to him and give him some brotherly type advice.” What advice did the veteran group — celebrating its anniversary this month with the album Twenty — share with the teen? “[We] just gave him some wisdom to know how to keep things going from a mental level [and] not just doing this [to do this] because people can get caught up in the success and all the hype and the girls screaming and the money and all the other good stuff, and you’ve got to have your wits about you,” Stockman said. “And make sure that you don’t want to have this legacy of being this brat … you don’t want that. You want longevity, not only in this business, but life as well.” Stockman said Bieber can expect many highs, but there will also be lows, and he wants to make sure the young star can weather all of those moments. “There’s going to be ups, and there’s going to be downs … you’re not always going to be on top, so you have to build certain things to cushion the fall a little when it does happen,” he said. “Because it will happen. It happens to everyone; no one’s exempt.” Under the Mistletoe features original holiday tunes by Bieber, as well as reimaginings of classic tunes, like Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas.” Bieber is joined by Carey as well as Boyz II Men, Usher, Busta Rhymes and the Band Perry on the album. Teen star’s Under the Mistletoe tracks ‘All I Want for Christmas’ and ‘Little Drummer Boy’ drop in advance of album’s release. By Jocelyn Vena Justin Bieber in his “Mistletoe” video Photo: Island/Def Jam Hey Beliebers, you can celebrate the holidays early this year! Just days before he officially releases Under the Mistletoe , Justin Bieber is gifting fans with the early release of two high-profile duets off the November 1 album. First off, his highly anticipated Mariah Carey collabo, an updated mix of her Christmas classic “All I Want for Christmas,” made its way online. The song, posted on Rap-Up.com , opens with Bieber and Carey exchanging vocal runs. Mariah’s verse, which sounds very much like the original, goes first. Then Bieber, singing in a deeper register than usual, joins in for the second verse. The sound of Carey’s original track is pretty much all there, with Bieber adding some new shine on the always-glittering holiday standard. “Mariah Carey is doing it with me! It’s incredible. So excited,” he told MTV News recently. “We wanted Mariah from the beginning, but we kind of thought it was really hard, so we didn’t really push the idea. But she’s on my label, so we reached out to some people, she got in contact with us, and Randy Jackson was actually at the studio with us, and I was like, ‘Yo, you think you can help get Mariah on the Christmas album?’ And he was like, ‘I’m actually going to see her in New York on Monday,’ and I was like ‘Yo, go do that!’ ” On Bieber’s collaboration with Busta Rhymes on the classic “Little Drummer Boy,” which was posted on Hitfix.com , the boys threw some club beats and synths over the old-school Christmas track. The song gets a bit of an edge when Bieber, a skilled drummer himself, appears as his rapper alter ego Shawty Mane . He raps lines like “Yeah, I’m on the drum/ I’m on the snare drum/ Yeah, I’m on the beat/ ‘Cause the beat goes dum/ I only spare heat ’cause I’m playing for the son/ Playing for king/ Playing for the title/ I’m surprised you didn’t hear it in the Bible,” while also singing the traditional lyrics from the song in between verses. Busta comes in halfway through the song, spitting family-friendly lines in his signature rapid-fire style. “Bieber hit me back and said let’s make it hot up in the winter,” he raps. “I said, cool/ You know I’m gonna deliver/ Let’s collaborate and make the holiday a little bigger.” “If you really think about it, it’s genius, because it’s rapping on a Christmas album … and, like, I’m rapping on it. And then it’s singing,” he explained. “It’s cool. [Busta’s] got, like, a percussive voice to him [and] the beat was so crazy. I’m actually playing drums on that song, playing the snare.” The album will also include appearances by Usher , Boyz II Men and the Band Perry, as well as a number of songs featuring Bieber all on his own, including the album’s lead single, “Mistletoe.” Related Videos MTV First: Justin Bieber Related Artists Justin Bieber Busta Rhymes Mariah Carey
