Will Lauren Conrad Make A Final ‘Hills’ Cameo? The Stars Weigh In

‘It would be nice to have her come back,’ Audrina Patridge says of a possible LC reunion. By Jocelyn Vena Lauren Conrad Photo: Jordan Strauss/ Getty Images The drama on the final season of “The Hills” is sure to be juicy, but it would be an extra-special treat for fans if original star Lauren Conrad stopped by one last time . While there are no confirmed plans for LC to hang with her crew again on the show, her pals admit that they’d be down with having her make one final appearance. “I feel like when Lauren was on, she was like the very good one who was always telling everyone what they did wrong or what they should have did, so with her coming back, it’ll be like our older sister coming back and giving us advice,” Audrina Patridge told MTV News. “It would be fun. It would be nice to have her come back.” Patridge said “there’s been talk of that,” but, obviously, nothing is final. “I am not sure if she is actually coming back to the show, but it would be nice towards the end,” she said. “The last episode, she comes back, and we all kind of rekindle and, you know, spend our last moment together before it’s all over.” Kristin Cavallari joined the show in season five, just as her frienemy LC was leaving, but she’d totally be down to share the screen with Conrad. “I think it would be amazing if she came back. I think it would be great, but there’s nothing set in stone,” she said. “I think that’s how we should end it: have Lauren and I in a scene together. That’s how we should end it. That would be amazing.” Would you like to see LC come back? Tell us in the comments! “The Hills: Final Season” airs at 10 p.m. ET/PT every Tuesday followed by “The City” at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT on MTV. Drake Talks About The Evolution Of Mixtapes

‘A mixtape can’t be the songs that don’t make your album,’ he tells Mixtape Daily. By Shaheem Reid, with reporting by Sway Calloway Drake Photo: Jason Merritt/ Getty Images State of the Streets: Drake Talks Mixtapes On Mondays, we usually bring you our main pick, but we had to start this week by saluting mixtapes. We’re proud that so many MCs are stepping their mixtape game up. The mixtape world is strong, potent and competitive right now. This year alone, we’ve seen Fabolous, Wiz Khalifa, Jim Jones and Asher Roth drop product off in the streets and the Internet. The next few weeks are going to be flooded with ferocity, with Young Jeezy, the Game, T.I. and Rick Ross, just to name a few, dropping soon. Long live the underground! We asked Drake — the guy with the biggest mixtape of the past few years, So Far Gone — what he thought about the state of mixtapes right now. He said everyone has to come with their best. “I think that when creating a mixtape, you have to approach it with a selfless mind-set,” Drake told us. “A mixtape can’t be the songs that don’t make your album, or songs that aren’t good enough to make your album make your mixtape — unless you’re that good. There aren’t that many people that are that good. I’m not that good. That mixtape [ So Far Gone ] is me working my hardest. It wasn’t ‘Oh, here are the songs I’m gonna give away to you ’cause I have better songs coming.’ A mixtape has become an album. “Before, I remember people used to be in the studio cutting songs, and they would be like, ‘Oh, that song is OK. I’ll just put it on my mixtape,’ ” he added. “Now a mixtape is an actual tool. It’s a format you need. You don’t necessarily need it, but it can be useful. Like with Fab and the other guys, I know they do a lot of rapping on other guys’ beats. It’s hard to tour like that, as incredible as it may be. Now Wayne, when the No Ceilings set comes on, it’s ridiculous. It’s hard to rap over other people’s songs and have it be timeless. With So Far Gone, when I did flip other people’s songs, half the time people didn’t know what song it was. I tried to pick stuff that was new or rare or just like an album cut. But yeah, man, if I use somebody else’s beat, I try to make a song out of it.” For other artists featured in Mixtape Daily, check out Mixtape Daily Headlines or follow the Mixtape Daily team on Twitter: @shaheemreid and @mongosladenyc . Game Defends G-Unit Jabs, Details Epic ‘400 Bars’ Recording

He also addresses supposed Jay Rock dis, in Mixtape Daily. By Shaheem Reid Game Photo: MTV News The O.D.: A Mixtape Daily Exclusive Game said his “400 Bars” 20-minute freestyle was probably his single most epic undertaking ever. “To even think about doing ‘400 Bars,’ you need a lot of patient people in the studio with you,” Game said earlier this week in L.A. “I had my whole team in, my whole crew. We was in the studio, the same studio. We were here for a day, 24 hours. Nobody went home, nobody ate, nobody brushed their teeth — we just grinded it out. It came together. I stayed in the booth for a little bit over eight hours, on my feet. At the end, I felt paralyzed. It just took that much out of me. It felt like I got jumped by 30 people. That’s how much it took to do ‘400 Bars.’ I don’t advise anybody to try to do it or top me. Not that I think they could. It’s a long process. Then, you have to keep people entertained for 20 minutes. You can’t just spit something and it not make sense. Piecing it together was crazy. But I did it, and the response was pretty cool. “The next day, I dropped it on the Internet, and I slept until maybe like 9 p.m.,” he said. “I went to the blogs, everybody was going crazy for it. So I went back to sleep.” You know there’s no way Game could have unleashed “400 Bars” without some sort of controversy. Jay Rock wrote on Twitter that people felt like Game was throwing subliminal jabs at him. “I get on Twitter n everybody hitting me sayn @ihategame getting @ me in his freestyle,” Rock wrote. “Same as Cube, n—as need to have ba–s to say names.” “I’m not scared to go against nobody all n—a have to do is say my name and it’s on with who ever. I don’t feel I need to apologize to no1,” he later wrote. Game didn’t say if he was in fact getting at Jay Rock, but he did say he’s always ready to battle. “I’ll just say it like this: If you feel like it was a jab and respond to it, then play with your career if you want to,” Game warned. “I know what to do with anybody and their career. Unless you really know, you should keep your mouth closed.” We do know for sure that Game spat at the G-Unit once again. “Screaming out f— 50, wouldn’t snitch for half his cash/ … Butter-soft Banks, you a bi—, man/ Me and you, we was cool until 50 unscrewed your kickstand/ And Yayo, turn in your senior-citizen wristband.” The Compton native insists it was no big deal. “You’ve gotta understand the difference between G-Unit [jabs] and a beef,” Game explained. “It was a beef [years ago]. I see 50, nobody is gonna do nothing to him. He sees me, nobody is gonna do nothing to me. It’s over with. The beef is over, but I can still throw a few jabs here and there and poke a little fun. Ain’t nothing wrong with being a comedian of some sorts. That’s all it was. I say maybe eight or 10 bars out of 400. 390 bars about other sh–, and 10 bars worth of jabs ain’t gonna hurt nobody.” Producer the Alchemist was one person who didn’t applaud Game’s efforts. Al took to Twitter to give his “400 Bars” review. “400 bars=snooze. Less is more,” Al wrote. Game responded on his Twitter page by writing, “@AlanTheChemist you already know me ALAN, don’t get ya teeth knocked out !!! then you can Snooze 4 real!” Al continued the back-and-forth with a sarcastic response: “I just got jumped by 75 bloods at the 7-11. thanx alot @ihategame. Twitter is powerful!” “He responded like he was supposed to, because he’s a G-Unit affiliate,” Game told us. “I responded like I was supposed to: the first thing that came to my head. I was serious about mine. He can take it lightly if he wants, but stay outta my way.” Game is finishing up his R.E.D. Room mixtape with DJ Skee. Lil Wayne, Hurricane Chris, Jim Jones and the Birdman all appear on the project. Lil Wayne Gives Tity Boi A Kanye West-Produced Track For New Tape

Playaz Circle rapper calls Me Against the World 2: Codeine Withdrawal ‘conceptual,’ in Mixtape Daily. By Shaheem Reid Tity Boi Photo: Def Jam This Week’s Main Pick Street King : Tity Boi Holding It Down For : ATL, Southside Mixtape : Me Against the World 2: Codeine Withdrawal Real Spit : “Twoooooo Chains!” The name just has a ring to it. Especially when Disturbing Tha Peace member Tity Boi yells it out in the streets. He walked down the street in Times Square telling everyone to watch their step because he had swag dripping all over the place. Don’t sue if you slip, he warned. You see the two chains swinging ’round his neck! “The name of the tape is Me Against the World 2: Codeine Withdrawal, ” he said. “If anybody has been following what I have been doing on mixtapes, I’ve been following in the concept and the team of what ‘Pac was doing. Not in the music, but with his titles. I had mixtapes come out called Trapavelli then dropped a double disc called All Ice on Me. The music is pure, straight form the heart. A chance for me to get my solo outlet out. Not breaking up Playaz Circle or nothing like that. Just getting a few things off my shoulders, ya dig? “It’s conceptual. … The subtitle is Codeine Withdrawal, ” he explained. “If anybody ever been into the epic of the lean, the sizzurp era, that’s what’s going down on the south side of Atlanta right now. A lot of cats really stopped drinking liquor, and they switched to a fruitier-tasting drink over ice. This tape, being that we were going so hard drinking syrup, it’s like a drought. So I was like, ‘You know what? They have habits [and some people can’t function].’ I did my whole tape without the assistance of what I’ve been doing for a couple of years. I still smoked, but the title is Codeine Withdrawal. I’ve had a few people tell me, ‘Slow down, you moving too fast.’ I slowed down. I got a little girl. It is what it is. Full of ‘hood classics.” Tity Boi made his tape with DJ Black Bill Gates. TB also has the album Flight 360 out right now with his partner Dolla Boy. Joints to Check For 1. “Lo Boots.” ” ‘Hood classic soon as it dropped,” Tity said. “A lot of my style comes through me rapping about fashion. A lot of my stuff was ‘Gucci this, Louis that.’ What I was doing was making the bootleggers rich. ‘Cause a lot of y’all wasn’t going to Gucci like me and Dolla was doing. So I did Polo boots. ‘Lo Boots.’ Everybody got them. They like $60 or something, some are $100, but they got nice flavors. Nice brands. The name of the song is about being swagged out with the team, rocking the ‘Lo Boots.’ ” 2. “Can’t Be Broke” (featuring Trae Tha Truth and M. Beezy). “Basically, the title speaks for itself. My verse, I give a brief summary on my birth until now, with hustling. It’s always been hustling. That’s basically what this song is about.” 3. “Real as They Come” (featuring Lil Wayne, produced by Kanye West). “Wayne gave me that song. For no reason, the boy got a song produced by Kanye, with Dre from Cool & Dre on the hook,” TB said. “[Wayne’s] like, ‘Here, I got a song for you.’ It’s a banger. It’s self-explanatory, about looking in the mirror and judging yourself. ‘You’re as real as they come.’ ” For other artists featured in Mixtape Daily, check out Mixtape Daily Headlines or follow the Mixtape Daily team on Twitter: @shaheemreid and @mongosladenyc . Drake Says He’s On A Remix Of Lil Wayne’s ‘I’m Single’

‘I tried to slither my way on that record,’ Young Money MC tells Mixtape Daily. By Shaheem Reid, with additional reporting by Rahman Dukes and Sway Calloway Drake and Lil Wayne Photo: MTV News The O.D.: A Mixtape Daily Exclusive Holla at the champs — your boys have finally decided to get it in on Twitter, so shout us out at @shaheemreid and @mongosladenyc . Let’s have dialogue and check for exclusives. Big up to Wiz Khalifa’s army, the Taylor Gang, who have been hitting us up about the mixtape Kush and Orange Juice by @RealWizKhalifa . We got something all the Taylors will be interested in real soon. Now, down to business — we recently brought you clarified word that Lil Wayne appears on Drake’s June 15 LP Thank Me Later via the track “Miss Me.” But there’s more Wayne and Drake in the can. Drizzy sings on a remix of Wayne’s No Ceilings jam “I’m Single.” Drake was so enamored with the record, he wanted to get on the hook. That version is nestled in the Young Money vaults. “I love that song,” Drake told us earlier this week. “I love that song. 40 produced that record for Wayne. I did that a while ago. I love that song. It’s one of those songs I wish was my song. I tried to slither my way on that record. I called Tez like, ‘Tez, let me get on that hook.’ There’s a version with me on it. I don’t know if it’s gonna get out there. Music is someone else’s creation. Once it’s done, it’s hard to say I wanna be a part of it. But me and Wayne, I get excited when Wayne wants to be on one of my songs. Musically we share that. We like doing songs together. I don’t think it’s a bad thing when we do songs together. … So there’s definitely a version with me on it. But that song is amazing on its own.” As for “Miss Me,” Drake said it’s “straightforward.” “It’s a pretty straightforward [song],” Drake said. “It’s a song about being away from what you love and hoping that when you’re gone, doing you, somebody out there misses you. It goes for Wayne in his situation and it goes for me in my situation, ’cause I’m on the road for I don’t how long right now.” The video for the version of “I”m Single” that appears on No Ceilings debuts this Sunday on MTV2’s “Sucker Free Sunday” countdown and on MTV Jams as the Jam of the Week. “The thing with Wayne, if you don’t get a chance to see how hard he worked on the record and the wit and pizazz he had with it, he wants to give you that same feeling the first time you hear it,” said DJ Scoob Doo, who directed the video. “Which he does audio-wise, but him performing it for you in the studio is really what it’s about, as far as this video.” For other artists featured in Mixtape Daily, check out Mixtape Daily Headlines . Wiz Khalifa’s Kush And Orange Juice Hits Big On The Internet

MC’s latest mixtape remains a trending topic on Twitter. By Steven Roberts Wiz Khalifa Photo: MTV News Wiz Khalifa is winning right now. Khalifa released his newest mixtape Kush and Orange Juice via his Twitter page on Wednesday (April 14) and the Internet paid attention. Twitter’s list of trending topics included #KushandOrangeJuice and the amount of fans searching for the mixtape also put it on the list of Google trends. Hype for the mixtape actually started to build Tuesday night on Twitter, when Khalfia tweeted to his fans, “Yo Taylors, #Kushandorangejuice drops tomorrow for ur waken & baken pleasures.” He teased about the mixtape for most of the night and once it was released Wednesday morning, a frenzy followed. The mixtape’s cover pays homage to David Ruffin’s 1980 Gentleman Ruffin album, and the tape features various samples as well as Khalifa rapping over Loose Ends’ “Hangin’ on a String” on “The Kid Frankie.” This seems to be another step in the right direction for Wiz Khalifa, whose popularity has skyrocketed since he left his label Warner Bros. in July 2009. He has since released three well-received mixtapes, Burn After Rolling, How High (a collaborative effort with Curren$y) and Kush and Orange Juice, as well as an indepedent album, Deal or No Deal. He’s also seen his fanbase grow on Twitter and was featured as one of XXL ‘s 2010 Freshmen 10 . When MTV News caught up Khalifa at the Freshmen 10 photo shoot , Khalifa attributed his success to hard work — and his fans. “Just staying in the studio, always working, always putting out mixtapes, material for people to listen to, capitalizing off of whatever I do. If something does well, you got to keep going after that. You can’t get comfortable after that and think that’s it. So just constantly working and reinventing myself, making smart moves — and having great fans.” Have you heard Wiz Khalifa’s latest mixtape? Let us know what you think in the comments below!

Asher Roth Serves Up ‘Positive’ Message On Seared Foie Gras Mixtape

He just moved to NYC Mixtape : Seared Foie Gras with Quince and Cranberry Real Spit : Asher Roth is in it for the long haul. He’s not just trying to make a quick dollar and skate — although there are aspects to the game that frustrate him. “I don’t wanna be one of those dudes that’s just like one, two three years, and I’m out,” Roth said, sitting in one of his favorite eateries, Hotel Griffou. “Make a quick dollar. ‘Let me go invest this in real estate.’ I see the opportunity to affect lives in a positive way. I see these 13-year old kids that get a hold of me and be like, ‘Yo, you changed my life.’ Am I 100 percent fulfilled? No. Not even remotely yet. But that’s a good thing. Hopefully, I’mma stick around for a decade and be a voice of the next 10 years. So when people look back, they said I actually added something instead of putting a pop song out that was popular.” Roth, for the most part, raps over beats that are already out there on the tape. He gives props to each producer by noting who the beat is “served by” on the track list. As for that far-out title, he said he tried the delicacy before knowing that foie gras was actually force-fed duck liver. Joints to Check For

50 Cent Looking For New G-Unit Recruits, Including Robert Pattinson?

‘ ‘Twilight’ ain’t no joke,’ the MC tells Mixtape Daily. By Shaheem Reid, with additional reporting by Susan Younis 50 Cent Photo: MTV News The O.D.: A Mixtape Daily Exclusive It’s been a while since we had Curtis Jackson around these parts in Mixtape Daily. Our fellow Queens native has been on the road for a while, making movies and touring overseas. While hollering at our colleagues at MTV UK, Fif revealed that he wants his Black Magic album to drop before summer is over — oh, and the title has nothing to do with witchcraft. “I don’t believe in voodoo,” he said. “But it’ll be very addictive. The first time you’ll hear it, you’ll remember the songs that’s on there. It’s designed for fun — for listening pleasure. “I’m not in a hurry,” he added about the recording process and release date. “I kind of planned on releasing Black Magic … I gave myself a goal to try and put it out by the end of the summer, so I’ll work that hard on the actual project. If I don’t feel it’s ready by the end of the summer, I’ll just jeep it.” Fif is also going on tour this summer, but said members of his current G-Unit family, including Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo, most likely won’t make the trek. “It’s interesting because they probably won’t be coming with me. In the U.S., Banks has momentum with the first single off his new album, ‘Beamer, Benz or Bentley.’ So he’ll be out [on his own tour] with H.F.M. 2 (The Hunger For More 2). While he’s doing that, it probably wouldn’t make sense for Yayo to come with me because his record is almost done now — he should use that time to complete his record and release it shortly after. But I’ll be running around.” No Banks or Yayo, but Fif says he will not be alone — he’s recruiting new members to his camp now. “You’ll see new faces, because I’m looking for new artists now. I’ll sign new artists and take them with me and kinda groom them. I don’t specifically say, ‘I want this kind of artist’ — I look for talent that inspires me, that complements what I do with their own thing. Some of the stuff you can’t teach a person; they gotta have it.” While 50 didn’t name any specific prospects, but did say he wouldn’t mind adding movie heartthrob Robert Pattinson to the Unit’s fold. The star of the “Twilight” franchise (50 said he’s seen “New Moon”) has dabbled in singing in addition to his acting. “Robert Pattinson. He has a big enough following to be the frontline,” 50 laughed. ” ‘Twilight’ ain’t no joke.” What rapper or singer would you like to see join 50 Cent’s G-Unit? Let us know in the comments below!
