Emmy Nominees Announced (The Advocate)

Out actors Neil Patrick Harris and Cherry Jones (pictured) were among the 2009 Emmy Award nominees announced on Thursday morning. The controversial Fox series Family Guy and the HBO television movie Grey Gardens, starring Drew Barrymore, received multiple nominations in the slate led overall by NBC’s 30 Rock, which received 22 nominations.

’30 Rock’ leads Emmy nominations (The Washington Times)

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Tina Fey’s satire-rich sitcom, “30 Rock,” received a leading 22 Emmy Award nominations Thursday, while the ’60s retro series, “Mad Men,” led the drama pack with 16 bids.

’30 Rock’ leads Emmy nominations (The Sarasota Herald-Tribune)

The Associated Press Tina Fey’s urbane sitcom “30 Rock” received a leading 22 Emmy Award nominations Thursday, while the ’60s retro series “Mad Men” led the drama pack with 16 bids. The shows were honored last year as best comedy and drama and have a chance to repeat the performance at September’s awards.

Sci-fi series virtually shut out of major Emmy nominations (Sci Fi Wire)

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced its nominations for the 2009 Emmy Awards this morning, and as sci-fi fans have come to expect, the major genre shows got only a few of the nods in the big 12 categories. Nothing for Battlestar Galactica , despite its acclaim for the final season, nor for True Blood , despite its success.
