BOSSIP Exclusive: Masika Kalysha Talks Motherhood, Says Finding Strength Through Fetty Wap’s Deadbeatism Helped Inspire New Music

Masika Kalysha Talks Motherhood, New Music, And Makeup Line Even though Masika Kalysha has A LOT to say about Fetty Wap’s fatherhood style, the reality star is keeping things positive when it comes to juggling single motherhood, a music career, and a new business venture. We caught up with Masika to talk more about her transition from being carefree and childless, to being thrust into a public paternity fiasco with a popular rapper and how she’s faring now that the dust has begun to settle on a pretty tumultuous 2016. Now you took a break from “Love & Hip Hop” for a while. What has it been like getting back into the swing of being on reality television and exposing the intimate details of your life to the world? Well it was very different this time around. The first year I didn’t know what to expect, which is partially why I took a hiatus the second year. I took a lot of things personal at first — the way people perceive you is just disheartening. During the year I decided not to do it, I learned so much, and now I just don’t really give a sh*t about what people say or what they think. At the end of the day, we’re sharing tiny pieces of our lives. If that’s what people want to take and run with, then run with it while I make my money. You mentioned the show only showing a little snippet of what your life is…do you feel like the show has accurately portrayed what you went through during your pregnancy thus far? Yes and no. I think that it’s a pretty good general update of where my life is and where it has been. However I try to be very careful and very respectful of my daughter’s privacy. So the ONLY things that I address this season are the tweets already posted by Fetty and by myself and the headlines that have already been posted. I address those things because they’re already public knowledge, and I clear them up. But there are so many other things that I have not said and I will not say, because at the end of the day me proving my point or trying to say who is right or wrong could affect my daughter in the future. I bite my tongue, for the most part. So where do things stand between you, Fetty, and baby Khari? He hasn’t seen her since her two week checkup. The issue I believe he’s having is he’s used to all the women in his life doing what he says when he says, and sitting and waiting for him to come and do whatever — and I don’t. If he says something and doesn’t stick to it, I get mad, and he gets mad that I’m mad. So I feel like his priorities aren’t in the right place, just him being young. There’s absolutely nothing in the world that should keep a parent away from their child. I think what he does is to try to make me upset, but in the long run she’s the one that’s affected. So your new song, “My Own,” deals with this situation a bit, right? I have an EP filled with records to kind of color the journey that I went through. I think this song is a really big anthem for women. I can’t even express to you the messages I’ve received from women all over the world — from New Zealand, to Africa, to Compton, you name it. There are women coming to me saying they were contemplating suicide until they saw my story, or they were going to get an abortion until they saw my story — thanking me for showing a public face that’s actually being honest, because so many women go through this. In my industry, it’s taboo. You don’t talk about it. So many women leave and come back with a whole kid and you don’t know what happened because they’re ashamed of it. I just decided to live it out loud. This song is basically saying to women that you CAN do it by yourself. No matter what, don’t let a man break you because you have the strength within yourself. I strongly believe that God created women to have babies because he knew we could handle it. If it were up to a man to have a baby the world would be over. “My Own” is available HERE , and everywhere else digital music is sold. Take a listen: How has the transition to motherhood been? Oh, God, It’s been so difficult! It’s really taught me patience, and I’ve never had patience. I always do things how I want, when I want, I don’t really care if someone else doesn’t like it, I just do what I want. Now it’s what she wants, and how she feels. She comes first. So I had to put a lot of things on the backburner…I’m still trying to find a balance between being the best mother and staying on track in the basic aspect of things I have to do. So you also have a makeup line on the way too. Can you tell us more about that? Yes! My makeup line is called Khari Barbie Beauty, and one thing I really wanted to focus on was showing my daughter the example that she can be independent and work for herself. I feel like in the Black community, we don’t really focus on being business owners and our parents don’t really teach us to be independent. We’re mainly taught “you go to school, you get good grades, and you get a good job.” There’s nothing wrong with that, but one thing I’ve learned is that if you don’t follow your dreams, you’ll end up working for someone who follows theirs. And that’s absolutely fine — but for me and my family, I always want to create multiple sources of income and revenue. So this is something I wanted to do that she could have and build her empire. Even from the time before she was born. Everybody has a beauty line. But I think the thing that’s cool about mine is it’s vegan, no parabens, no animal testing. A lot of times when you have a product like that, it compromises the quality. So I really wanted to spend time with lab and researchers to find a product that was not only quality, but good for the environment and not bad for your skin, and colors that fit all different skin tones and not just a pale person. It’s going to be a full line, but I am funding this by myself, so we’re starting with the lips now — lip liners, lipsticks, matte liquid lipsticks, vitamin e stick, exfoliaters. So what’s next for you outside of the show? The big thing for me is I’m back to auditioning with my agency and getting my body back together. Thankfully naturally I’ve had a snapback, but we still gotta get it tight and get it right. So you’re just going to see my journey navigating through motherhood and working and trying to find a balance. It is very difficult, but I think I make it work and do a good job of it. One thing I’m about to do on my vlog channel is a series for single mothers. I get so many messages from women [in similar situations] that it would be crazy not to. I feel like I was put on this platform by accident, but I’m going to do the best I can with it. Good for Masika, right? Are you feeling her new single? Instagram

Couple Celebrates 57 Years of Marriage with Notebook-Inspired Photo Shoot

It’s time to meet Clemma and Sterling Elmore. They are also known as The Greatest Couple of All-Time. Natives of Oklahoma, the Elmores recently celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary … … by striking poses reminiscent of every woman’s favorite movie in American cinematic history. Oh, yes. We’re talking about The Notebook. They used a vintage truck. They wore 1940s-style clothing. They relied on props such as flowers and cameras. And they got very much into the characters made famous by Ryan Goslig and Rachel McAdams. “He said the first time that he laid eyes on me that he said, ‘That’s the girl I’m going to marry,’ ” Clemma told ABC News, adding of The Notebook: “I love the movie. We both love that movie, such a sweet movie, we’ve seen it twice.” The Notebook came out in 2004. Based on a romantic Nicholas Sparks novel, it tells the story of a rich young woman and a poor young man, separated by distance at times and social class. But you can’t fight love. You can’t tell your heart how to feel.  You can’t compete with the passion of this movie. The couple was photographed for this unique and memorable set of pictures by Stacy Welch-Christ. The adorable collection was shared on the photographer’s Facebook page and has been shared, as of this writing, over 54,000 times. “We are totally overwhelmed. It just has got us just – well, we’re just humbled by the comments,” Clemma says. Clemma and Sterling have two children together, along with a critical piece of advice for everyone out there. “We never fail to tell each other, probably 10 times a day, ‘I love you,’ “Sterling, 80, told ABC News. It sounds so simple, but who ever said love had to be complicated? We don’t know if Sterling wrote to Clemma every day for a year or anything at any point, but for this two, it still isn’t over! For those unaware of why The Notebook is so popular, we offer two quotes from the film: It’s not going to be easy. It’s going to be really hard.  And we’re going to have to work on this every day, but I want to do that because I want you. I want all of you, forever, you and me. The best love is the kind that awakens the soul; that makes us reach for more; that plants a fire in our hearts and brings peace to our mind. What? We aren’t crying. YOU’RE the ones who are crying!

Rob Kardashian Wipes Instagram Account Clean. Again.

Some might call this a publicity stunt, but most people can safely assume that Rob Kardashian is being dramatic. Again. For the second time time in 2 months, Kardashian has gone ahead and deleted every single photo from his Instagram account, and unfollowed anyone he had been following. This includes a photo from designer Tommy Hilfiger, who had shown off a pair of Kardashian's Arthur George socks on a private plane. Either Kardashian is likes a good digital cleanse, or he's mad about something again. The first time this happened, he and fiancee Blac Chyna had a massive blowout while filming their reality show, Rob & Chyna . “Rob and her have been getting into little tiffs and Blac Chyna flipped on Rob,” a source told E! News back in late July. “He was so pissed at how she spoke to him, so he deleted everything about her to hurt her.” “Rob has never cheated on her, but she is very paranoid about that from past experiences,” and reassures us that they are “fine” now. “[They're] back in love and have spoken through their fight.” Another source told Us Weekly that their fight was “explosive.” “Yes, it was a fight, but they will be over it and basically are,” the source said. The source added that Chyna was making plans to hang out with her own friends, and Kardashian got a little whiny, claiming that he was being “neglected.” “They’ve been spending a ton of time together and filming a show together. Add to that the stress of a new relationship and it’s inevitable that there will be some tension and fighting.”  So, what led to this explosive fight? “They were filming this weekend, and one of the people in her crew asked her to do something without him, and he snapped. … They started talking again [on Sunday] though and made up [on Monday].” Kardashian is notorious for deleting Instagram pictures whenever he's at odds with a loved one.  He did it with Chyna this past winter, as well as in 2015. In a new clip teasing Sunday's premiere, Kardashian admits to Scott Disick that Chyna kicked him out of the house. “Chyna and I got in a fight so she kicked me out,” Kardashian told Disick. “I'm just gonna let her be and give her her space and I don't know.”  During his one-on-one interview, Kardashian admitted that he was over the fghting. “This cycle of me being kicked out the house has happened several times and usually I go right back but I'm sick of it so Imma stay at my house in Calabasas for a bit,” he said. Back in the car, Disick was supported of his buddy, assuring him that these things happen and Chyna is hormonal right now because of the pregnancy. It's not a good feeling when you get kicked out,” Kardashian said. “Dude you're telling me my own life, it happens!” Disick joked.

Earl Valentine Confesses On Facebook Live To Killing Wife & Son Before Committing Suicide [Video]

WashingtonPost : Earl Valentine had just critically injured his ex-wife and killed his namesake son in North Carolina, authorities said. He was somewhere on a dark road, possibly driving to Richmond to kill his former in-laws. That’s when Valentine went on Facebook and started broadcasting live. “She lied on me, had warrants taken out on me,” he told the camera early Tuesday, as he divided his gaze between the phone and the road. “She drug me all the way down to nothing. I loved my wife, but she deserved what she had coming.” In his chilling Facebook livestream, which was later reposted on YouTube, Valentine acknowledged that the violent chain of events he started could end in his own death. “Pleasure knowing all y’all,” he said. “I’ve been very sick for months. And this is something that I could not help. So I don’t know if I’m gonna make it where I’m going, but if I don’t, I wish all of you a good life.” Police in Norlina, a town of 1,100 people just south of the North Carolina-Virginia state line, spent Tuesday and Wednesday trying to unravel what caused Valentine allegedly to kick in the door of his ex-wife’s single-story home and open fire — and then admit to the crime on social media. But more than anything, they wanted to find Earl Valentine. Authorities from the FBI and the U.S. Marshals Service joined local and regional law enforcement agencies in a manhunt stretching from Virginia to South Carolina, Norlina Police Chief Taylor Bartholomew told The Washington Post on Wednesday afternoon. Within hours, authorities located Valentine at a motel in Columbia, S.C., about 280 miles south of Norlina. Officials said Valentine committed suicide after being surrounded. He was pronounced dead at the scene. “He shot himself in the head,” Bartholomew told CBS affiliate WLTX. “Think he felt the pressure of being surrounded by marshals. He died alone. At the end of the day, he is a coward.” Hours earlier, Bartholomew said he had talked to Valentine on the phone; the Norlina police chief described the suspected killer as “cold and callous,” saying he showed no remorse for the shootings. “For somebody that had just done something like that, he was calm but he was aggressive,” Bartholomew told The Post on Wednesday. “He was trying to pump me for information. His main focus was to make sure his ex-wife was dead.” Bartholomew quoted Valentine as saying that he wouldn’t be taken alive and that he planned to kill his in-laws, then himself. Police said later that Valentine drove to Richmond after killing his son and injuring his ex-wife, then turned around and drove south, to Columbia. Keisha Valentine and her teenage son had moved to Norlina nearly nine months ago to get away from her abusive ex-husband, Bartholomew said. She was granted a year-long domestic violence restraining order, but it expired last month. The police chief said there’s evidence that Earl Valentine had exchanged heated words with his ex-wife’s family on Facebook. Still, it’s unclear what prompted Tuesday morning’s assault on Hyco Street. About 1:30 a.m., Earl Valentine burst through the front door of the house and marched to his ex-wife’s bedroom, Bartholomew said. Keisha Valentine leaned against the door, trying to keep him out, but he managed to shoot her anyway. Their son, awakened by the commotion, confronted his father. But the teenager fell to the floor and was shot in the chest. Before he died, he called police and told them what had happened. If he had been captured alive, Earl Valentine faced a first-degree murder charge in his son’s death, Bartholomew said. Since Facebook Live launched in April, millions have used the service to offer a glimpse into the big moments and small details of their lives. The view isn’t always pretty. Earl Valentine is the latest example of a person using Facebook Live to discuss a violent act — or to showcase the act itself. WashingtonPost Continue reading

In White Folks News: Failed Football Player Tim Tebow Signs Minor League Contract With The Mets

Tim Tebow Signs Minor League Contract With The Mets 29-year-old former football player Tim Tebow just signed a minor league contract with The Mets reports NY Times : The Mets’ instructional league season will have a bit more buzz than usual this month. When minor leaguers report for extra work in Port St. Lucie, Fla., probably within two weeks, a former Heisman Trophy winner will be among them. Tim Tebow, who turned 29 last month and last played baseball as a junior in high school, signed a minor league contract with the Mets on Thursday morning. Tebow, who is listed as an outfielder, hit .448 as a junior at Nease High School in Ponte Vedra, Fla., in 2005. Then he concentrated on football and soon embarked on a celebrated career at the University of Florida and a less successful stint in the N.F.L. with the Denver Broncos and the Jets. His turn to baseball attracted 28 of the 30 teams to a workout on Aug. 30 at the University of Southern California. Tebow, who throws and bats left-handed, has more of a football figure at 6 feet 3 inches and 255 pounds and has encountered widespread skepticism from people in and out of the game. But he needed only one team to believe enough in him to sign him. In the Mets, who wear the same shade of blue and orange as his old college team, he found a taker. Twitter Continue reading

Marcus Kowal, MMA Fighter, Loses Child to Drunken Hit-and-Run

Marcus Kowal is living every parents’ worst nightmare. The MMA fighter and his partner have confirmed that their 15-month old son was killed on Saturday when the child and his young aunt were struck by a car while crossing the street. According to The Mercury News, Liam Mikeal Kowal and his 15-year old relative were hit by a vehicle while in a crosswalk. The tragic incident took place around 4:15 p.m. The driver, a woman named Donna Marie Higgins, fled the scene… but witnesses actually followed her SUV and surrounded it until authorities arrived, the newspaper reports. Per a press release issued by the Hawthorne Police Department, Liam’s teenage aunt suffered “from what appeared to be leg injuries,” while the infant was found “pulseless and not breathing.” Higgins, a 72-year old shoe mugshot is featured below, was arrested on suspicion of hit-and-run and drunken driving. She booked into Hawthorne jail with a $100,000 bail. “I saw [Liam’s] stroller in two pieces,” Kowal told a local ABC affiliate. “And he had a  little green frog that he’s had with him since day one … and he carries around wherever he is. He won’t sleep without his green frog, and it was lying in the middle of the street.” Later Saturday evening, Kowal and his partner, Mishel Eder, took to the former’s Facebook page with a heartbreaking update from Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. “I want to thank everyone who has been there for us, in all forms and shapes,” it begins. “Thoughts, prayers, in person – whatever. We’ve received 100s and 100s of txt messages, emails, fb messages, etc – we are blown away. Your support means the world to us.” He then continued with the most horrific message any mother or father could ever write. About an hour ago, our baby was declared brain dead. He tried to fight so hard. He even died at one point but they brought him back. He’s a little fighter. His heart is still beating but his brain is no longer working. Our hearts are broken and there’s a void in my soul but we will get through this. Again, your support means the world and I wish we could respond to each and every one of you but right now, we are going work through this. Funeral arrangements will be posted here. RIP Liam Mikael Kowal. 5/25/2015-9/4/2016. Liam was taken off life support later that night. “I’m a fighter, I can take pain, I’ve taken pain my whole life and nothing hurts as much as this,” Kowal told ABC7. “I was proud to be a dad and I wanted to raise a good child.” We truly cannot imagine. Our heart goes out to Marcus Kowal and his family. Kowal told the station that he and Eder are donating Liam’s organs. “So his heart can live through another child,” the athlete said. “He loved to share, so I know he would have wanted to share his heart.” What beautiful words and what a beautiful gesture.

Kroy Biermann Gets Cut, Kim Zolciak Gets a Break

We have good news and bad news for Kim Zolciak. First, the good: You don’t need to step foot in Buffalo ever again! Now, the bad: you are officially your family’s only bread winner. About two weeks after Kim’s husband, Kroy Biermann, signed a one-year contract with the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League, sources have confirmed that Biermann has been cut. He fell just short of making the perennial losing team’s 53-man roster for its first week matchup against the Ravens. Biermann had hoped to jump start his career with Buffalo, following seven seasons as a lineman for the Atlanta Falcons. And Zolciak seemed very excited about the career change at first. “Damnnnnn @kroybiermann Is killing me in his @buffalobills uniform!” she wrote on Instagram last month. “He is so overwhelmed with all of your support! Thank you I’m truly grateful for all of you! Comforting me lol and welcoming him!” Despite four consecutive Super Bowl losses in the 1990s and a past decade of very bad football teams, Buffalo has one of the most loyal fan bases in all of sports. And now Zolciak may have a problem on her hands: Biermann is 30 years old. That’s ancient in the NFL universe. He may very well be out of work, meaning Zolciak has to up her waist training and sponsored Instagram post game. She’s responsible for the family’s income now… and they have six kids! According to TMZ, Biermann just dropped $100,000 on a gigantic diamond ring for the couple’s five-year wedding anniversary. It was a thoughtful gesture, but we’re guessing he may have downsized a bit if he had seen this cut coming. If this really is it for Kroy Biermann, he ends his career with 216 total solo tackles and 23.5 total sacks. Word has it that he may get into MMA next, though Zolciak can’t be happy about the possibility of her man’s face getting all messed up. View Slideshow: Kim Zolciak Body Selfies We’ll try to keep readers updated on the life, times and career of Biermann, along with the record of the Bills throughout the season. Just kidding. Who really cares about that team?!?
