It’s a well known fact that I have never been a huge fan of location based services because of the limited appeal to the lass audience but the following three videos could show where we are headed in terms of apps that make sense to the general public in terms of finding cool new experiences in their mobile phones… Broadcasting platform : YouTube Source : Simply Zesty Discovery Date : 20/10/2011 04:57 Number of articles : 2
Where does appreciation end and exploitation begin? Gorgeous and disquieting, the documentary Bombay Beach wobbles between the two like a beginner gymnast on her first attempt on the balance beam. On one side, it’s a poetic, freeform examination of the lives of a few of the residents of the area of the title, located by the Salton Sea in the Southern California desert. On the other, it’s an uncomfortable fetishization of the community’s outsider status, dictated by poverty, by location and by an inability or unwillingness to exist elsewhere. Israeli-born director Alma Har’el, who comes from a background of music videos and commercials, doesn’t just bask in this abundance of scenic, decaying Americana, she shapes it into choreographed dance interludes with the subjects, who twirl outside their mobile homes and don carnival masks to cavort in an outdoor gazebo. It’s a bit of whimsy as pretty and problematic as the film as a whole.

I don’t know why that as a society we think that making a life size statue out of wax in some half assed celebrity’s likeness is a way to honor them, but we do, and the folks over at Madam Tussauds have done it again. Here’s Fergie grabbing a piece of her big waxed boobies at the unveiling the other day. Sadly, I’ve seen a lot of celebrity wax figures over the years doing this site, but this has got to be the first time that the mannequin looks better than the real thing. No wonder Fergie wanted to cop a feel. more pictures of Fergie here
Finally, it looks like Twitter model Adrianne Curry has got herself a real photoshoot, that or she’s banging some dude with a tripod. Either way, you see what happens when you get proper lighting and camera equipment? Much hotter than the mobile phone crap. The high quality lens really picks picks up the juxtaposition of the smooth hairless body and the shimmering bikini….. I’m just messing with you, her boobs, booty and skinny chick curves look absolutely amazing! Well done. more pictures of Adrianne Curry here

‘These are all people who have their own movements,’ the ‘Black and Yellow’ MC says of fellow nominees. By Rob Markman Wiz Khalifa Photo: Kevin Winter/ Getty Images Let’s be clear, while Wiz Khalifa has respect for his fellow Best New Artist nominees, he fully excepts to beat out the competition on Sunday night at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards . “I’m trying to crush everybody,” the Rolling Papers MC told MTV News from the red carpet of the BMI Urban Awards in Los Angeles on Friday. “No disrespect, just crush them and do what I do.” Khalifa’s “Black and Yellow” video is up against tourmate Big Sean’s “My Last,” Kreayshawn’s “Gucci Gucci,” Tyler, the Creator’s “Yonkers” and indie-pop band Foster the People’s “Pumped Up Kicks.” “I think it’s really good competition, and it’s just a good sign of the new wave of how an artist can come up and get recognition these days,” Khalifa told MTV News in July when he first learned of the nomination. “Big Sean, I know his situation, how he came from nothing. Kreayshawn, she built her buzz similar with the Internet, and Tyler as well. These are all people who have their own movements.” Aside from his nomination, Wiz is just looking forward to some memorable moments at the VMAs. “I expect some real big performances, I expect some shockers, man. Some big things, people usually pull out all the stops at the VMAs,” he said. “That’s a big deal so I expect some entertainment.” Voting for the Best New Artist continues through the show, which airs live on Sunday (August 28) at 9 p.m. ET.
