President Barack Obama won reelection to a second term in the White House last night … then earned the distinction of being part of the MOST RE-TWEETED PIC EVER! As the major news networks began to call the election for the President , Obama’s camp released a handful of grateful tweets – with this photo as the crown jewel. His staff posted “Four More Years” with the pic of POTUS and FLOTUS embracing. It had nearly 700,000 re-tweets and 3.5 million “likes” on Facebook as of this afternoon. “This happened because of you. Thank you,” they tweeted, followed with, “We’re all in this together. That’s how we campaigned, and that’s who we are. Thank you. -BO” Facebook confirmed today the the picture was its most-liked … Ever. Somewhere, Victoria Jackson and Donald Trump are clenching fists. “This Barack Obama photo is the most-liked Facebook photo of all time,” the company said, while it also broke a Twitter mark previously held by a Justin Bieber Tweet. Whoa. Beating the Bieb on Twitter? That might be more impressive than winning 303 electoral votes and a popular vote victory against Mitt Romney. Then again, if there’s one thing that’s popular, it’s cute Barack and Michelle Obama photos . The First Couple has quite a fan base in the social media universe. Ariel Winter Abuse Case: Modern Family Star Ordered Out of Home

Ariel Winter, the 14-year old who stars as Alex on Modern Family , is at the center of a child abuse scandal. Here is what we know so far, courtesy of TMZ: A judge has ordered the young actress to be removed from her home amidst charges of physical and emotional abuse against her mother, Crystal Workman. Court sources tell the site that a guardianship hearing took place on October 3, during which a judge deemed that allegations against Workman were legitimate enough to warrant further investigation. In the meantime, she was ordered to remain 100 yards away from Winter and the actress was sent to live with her older sister, Shanelle Workman. Incredibly (and sadly) Shanelle was a victim of the same alleged abuse nearly 20 years ago, as the Department of Children and Family Services ALSO removed her from Crystal’s home. Law enforcement insiders say the organization placed Shanelle in foster care for approximately two years and she never resided with her mother again. Another hearing concerning Ariel has been set for November 20.

But can you guess who’s wearing it? “My name is Sofia Vergara,” said the famous female above upon debuting the outfit yesterday, which depicted the Modern Family star’s Emmy night wardrobe malfunction. “I am easy breezy beautiful CoverGirl from Colombia. Happy Halloween. As you can see, I put my pumpkins out!” So, who is it? ELLEN DEGENERES! Pretty awesome, no?

The Hobbit Gets Defense From Sir Ian McKellan

The Hobbit caught some negative reaction when 10 minutes of unfinished footage played at the CinemaCon convention earlier this year in Las Vegas. But Sir Ian McKellen , who stars in The Lord of the Rings prequel, has defended the anticipated film directed by Peter Jackson , after early criticism from fans flared over how it looks in 3-D. Some viewers complained that the footage appeared “un-cinematic” and that it had “made-for-TV” quality. But McKellan, who plays the wizard Gandalf in the forthcoming film, said he believes audiences will be impressed by the feature’s aesthetics. “I’ve seen enough of it to know it’s going to be just as exciting as Lord of the Rings ,” he said via BBC . “In fact in some senses it’s more exciting because it’s in three dimensions.” McKellan said the sensation audiences will experience will bring them closer to Middle Earth, drawing fans into the story as never before. “It’s not the sort of crude 3-D that comes out of the screen. Rather it brings you into Middle Earth. You see round the corners. You see everything,” said McKellen. For his part, Jackson said he didn’t it surprising by the reaction the footage received. He shot The Hobbit at a rate of 48 frames per second which compares to the industry standard of 24 frames. “It’s not absolutely complete yet but Peter Jackson’s very pleased with it,” added McKellan. Along with McKellan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Martin Freeman and Evangeline Lilly star, while Orlando Bloom returns as Legolas and Elijah Wood takes on Frodo again. The three films are a prequel to The Lord of the Rings series. The first installment, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will open Stateside December 14th. Part two, The Desolation of Smaug will open in 2013, while There and Back Again heads out in 2014. [ Source: BBC ]

Skyfall Wins Thumbs Up Review From Vatican Newspaper

The Vatican has apparently caught wind of Skyfall mania and it even gave its opinion through its official l’Osservatore Romano newspaper. The 23rd James Bond pic even nabbed a rare review, calling it one of the best in its 5 decades. l’Osservatore Romano ‘s Skyfall green light is a sea-change for the publication which only has a print circulation of 15,000. Its influence is far higher, however, when its editorial which reflects Vatican policy, is splashed in papers and websites around the world. For Skyfall l’Osservatore Romano published five articles, according to Reuters . The paper noted in its main article “007 License to Cry” that the latest installment presents the British super-operative in a less cliché manner, and “more human, capable of being moved and of crying: in a word, more real.” In another article, the paper compares the lineage of Bond actors from Sean Connery to the current Daniel Craig. Craig told the paper he feels “very different” from his predecessors, but noted that Connery is a “point of reference.” The Catholic Church famously condemned Federico Fellini’s classic La Dolce Vita when it debuted in 1960 through l’Osservatore Romano, which viewed a scene from the film as a parody of Christ’s second coming. It was subject to widespread censorship including a full ban in Spain until after the death of dictator Francisco Franco in 1975. The first Bond film, From Russia with Love came out in 1963. New York City On Film: Hurricane Sandy VS. Woody Allen’s Manhattan

” Chapter One: He adored New York City .” As images and reports rolled in from Hurricane Sandy ‘s destructive tour through the Big Apple I thought of my East Coast friends and family affected by the storm, and of Manhattan , Woody Allen ‘s great cinematic ode to the city — his city: Tough, romantic, and everything in between. All those terrifying images of flooded streets and New York at an unimaginable standstill reminded me of happier times, by way of the magical moments the movies have seared into my consciousness over the years. This photo for example, taken Monday near the 59th Street Bridge as Sandy approached New York, depicted surging waters looming near where Allen and Diane Keaton shot Manhattan ‘s iconic bridge scene — one of the most beautiful, dreamy moments of New York there is. The New York that was beaten up, wind-whipped, and deluged over the past few days is a scary, unrecognizable New York. But the spirit of New York (and New Jersey, not to mention other affected cities and states along the East Coast) endures as folks begin rebuilding. I go back to the New York — romanticized, yes, but alive and bustling the way that NYC should be and will be again — of Manhattan ‘s opening scene, which flashes through the city as Allen’s voice-over and George Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue” bring it to life. Even if only brief respites from the reality of what folks have to deal with out there, the movies can remind us of what makes life worth living; feel free to add your own indelible NYC movies and moments below. Glee’s Chris Colfer Gets Struck By Lightning

Glee ‘s Chris Colfer returns to high school in new feature, Struck By Lightning , but instead of singing and dancing, his character is a ruthless aspiring journalist extraordinaire and he needs help from his fellow students on a project. The problem is, he’s very unpopular, but their cooperation may mean the difference between getting into Northwestern University or not and his wider plans at literary world domination. The log line for Struck By Lightning : High school senior Carson Phillips (Chris Colfer) was destined for bigger things than his close-minded small town could ever offer. He was on a path to greatness, but destiny had a different plan when he was suddenly killed by a bolt of lightning in his school parking lot. Demonstrating that life is what happens while you’re busy planning your future, Carson recounts the last few weeks of his life via witty, insightful flashbacks, including a blackmail scheme targeting the popular kids in school that he concocts with his best friend (Rebel Wilson, Bridesmaids ), and a home life that includes a mother (Allison Janney, Juno ) who’s more interested in the bottle than her son’s future and an estranged father (Dermot Mulroney, My Best Friend’s Wedding ) who suddenly appears with a pregnant fiancée (Christina Hendricks, Mad Men ). The film also features Sarah Hyland ( Modern Family ), Angela Kinsey ( The Office ), Polly Bergen ( Desperate Housewives ), and Ashley Rickards ( American Horror Story ).  Watch the video on YouTube

I’ve never watched the show Revenge , but I might have to after seeing these pictures of Emily VanCamp in GQ . Damn! Forget billboards, TV commercials, press tours, viral marketing — if you’ve got a hot chick on your show and you’re looking to boost ratings, cleavage is always the answer. Just ask Modern Family .
