Kush Chronic-les Valentine’s Day Edition: Is Cheating On Your Girlfriend With Mary Jane Affecting Your Sex Life

Although those that partake in the herbage say that sex is more intense when under the influence, science has done some research that proves otherwise… Marijuana users sometimes report that pot enhances their desire for sex. But a new review of research on marijuana and sexual health suggests that male smokers could be courting sexual dysfunction. Sex and Drugs Scientists first began to study marijuana and sex in the 1970s. Some researchers found that cannabis seemed to have the effect of a love drug; in one 1982 study published in the Journal of Psychoactive Drugs, 75 percent of male pot smokers said the drug enhanced their sex lives. Meanwhile, another study published in the same journal the same year found that erectile dysfunction was twice as common in marijuana users – not such good news for lit lotharios. Other research suggests a dose effect, in which small amounts of marijuana have little impact on sexual dysfunction, but more marijuana makes for fewer erections… Men and Marijuana Marijuana use is widespread, especially among men at their sexual peak in life, Shamloul said. The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime reports that 162 million people worldwide use marijuana each year. More than 22 million use it daily. That makes understanding long-term effects important, Shamloul said. Fellas, would you say the that the purple piff is puttin a cramp in your pipe game? Ladies, if your man answered this survey, is he lying???? Let us know! Source

Skylar Grey ‘Flattered’ Eminem, Dr. Dre Tapped Her For Detox

‘Dr. Dre has been working on it for 10 years and now I’m on a single,’ breakout singer tells MTV News of Grammy night collabo. By Jayson Rodriguez, with reporting by Sway Calloway Skylar Grey at the 2011 Grammy Awards Photo: Jason Merritt/ Getty Images Skylar Grey found herself on the largest stage in music at Sunday night’s Grammy Awards when she joined Eminem and Dr. Dre for the duo’s “I Need a Doctor.” The Wisconsin-bred singer penned the chorus for the Alex Da Kid-produced number as well as Em’s Grammy-nominated “Love the Way You Lie” featuring Rihanna. And although the veteran songwriter is used to being behind the scenes, Grey says she enjoyed her time in the spotlight. “I was just flattered that they would involve me on such a project,” she told MTV News on the Grammy red carpet. “Dr. Dre has been working on [ Detox ] for 10 years and now I’m on a single off of it.” Grey’s profile has been increasing lately, from her exposure as the woman behind the moving chorus of “Love the Way You Lie” and T.I.’s “Castle Walls to lending her vocals to “I Need a Doctor” and being featured on Lupe Fiasco’s latest single, “Words I Never Said” and Diddy-Dirty Money’s “Coming Home.” She’s working on her still-untitled solo debut with Alex Da Kid and the two are reaping the benefits of fusing her alt-sounding vocals with the British producer’s sweeping production. “It’s just a creative experience being in the studio with different people,” she said of the pair’s work. “I’m not from the hip-hop world but I think that’s what works for the sound that we got. The combination of the alternative chorus mixed with the hip-hop verses.” Are you eager to hear more music from Skylar Grey? Tell us in the comments! Singer is in spotlight after haunting rendition of chorus on ‘I Need a Doctor.’ By Aly Semigran Skylar Grey at the 2011 Grammy Awards Photo: Jason Merrit/ Getty Images Many Grammy viewers might have asked themselves the same question several times during Sunday night’s ceremony: Who was that? In addition to Best New Artist winner Esperanza Spalding , another woman who hit the stage of the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards had plenty of viewers wondering who she was: first-time nominee and performer Skylar Grey, who took to the stage with Eminem and Dr. Dre during their intense set . As it turns out, the Wisconsin-born Grey, whose real name is Holly Brook Hafermann, already has a long hip-hop r

Travis Barker Talks Partnership With Lil Wayne On New Solo Single

Barker says his collaboration with Weezy on ‘Can a Drummer Get Some?’ began when they performed together at last year’s Grammys. By James Montgomery, with reporting by Sway Calloway Travis Barker Photo: Getty Images NORTH HOLLYWOOD, California — On Friday, with the 53rd Grammy Awards less than 48 hours away, Travis Barker invited MTV News up to his studio to play us a handful of tracks from his long-delayed though finally completed solo album, Give the Drummer Some , which hits stores on March 15. Judging from what we heard, there’s no shortage of hard-hitting, genre-blurring jams on the record, though a standout is “Can a Drummer Get Some?” The track, which is the album’s proper first single, features verses from Rick Ross, Game, Swizz Beatz and, of course, Lil Wayne. The Blink-182 stickman let it slip that he’s planning on filming a video for the song with all the talent present as early as next week. And it’s fitting that, on practically the eve of the Grammys, he’s talking about the song because, in a lot of ways, its roots stretch all the way back to last year’s Grammy telecast, when Barker joined Weezy, Eminem and Drake onstage for a performance of “Forever” “At the Grammys, we were at soundcheck, we were messing around before we even bust into the song,” Barker recalled. “Freestyling, just busting beats, it’s always a good time.” And that crackling, live energy is more than present on “Can a Drummer,” a song that Barker is deeply attached to for a lot of reasons. “I painted that one up in my head — that’s the first song I wrote for my album. I pieced that one together, I knew exactly how I wanted it,” he explained. “I [had] played on something for Young Money — they wanted me to do a remix, and I was like, ‘Cool.’ I had seen Wayne in L.A., and I had talked to him about a verse, so [we were like] ‘let’s just do [an] even trade.’ So, like a month later, I got my verse from Wayne. Man, everything he said, he just killed it. I would get mixtapes and I’d be listening to it in the car, like blaring it, and I’d hear him say my name or something, and I’d be like, ‘Lil Wayne just said my name, this is a trip!’ Because I’m a fan.” And as a fan, Barker is a lot like the rest of us. He’s eternally marveling at how far Wayne has come — a voyage that started more than 10 years ago, continued though their 2010 Grammy performance and now is featured prominently on “Can a Drummer Get Some?” “I love what Wayne’s done, how he’s progressed,” Barker laughed. “I remember, it must’ve been 1999 or 2000, and we’re in Las Vegas, at the Joint, and Cash Money is performing, and Blink’s performing — so it’s just a trip because I grew up on him too. I saw him go from that through his whole career, all his albums — it’s just crazy.” Don’t miss “Snooki & Sway: Live From the Grammys,” a red-carpet live stream kicking off Sunday at 6 p.m. ET on MTV.com. And stick with us all Grammy night for coverage of the red carpet, the show, the afterparties and beyond! Related Artists Travis Barker Lil Wayne

Jennifer Aniston, Adam Sandler Talk Sex On The First Date

‘Just Go With It’ stars tell MTV News it’s a no-no — except for Dave Matthews: ‘I can’t think of a reason not to!’ By Eric Ditzian Brooklyn Decker and Adam Sandler in “Just Go With It” Photo: Sony Pictures In “Just Go With It,” Adam Sandler and Brooklyn Decker’s characters meet at a house party, fall hard for each other, and — in an instance of what the “Jersey Shore” cast would call being “DTF” — spend a sandy night of passion on the beach. Which begs the question: How does the cast feel about getting down and dirty on the first date? Good idea? Great idea? Or you-gotta-be-crazy bad idea? That’s what MTV News wanted to know when we hit the film’s red-carpet premiere earlier this week. “Terrible idea. Don’t do it!” Sandler declared. “You got to hold it back.” In fact, Sandler said that if viewers take away one thing from the new comedy, it should be, “Block it! Block it and lock it!” Aniston agreed. “I don’t think it’s a good idea,” she told us. Decker, too, approved of that keep-it-in-your-pants counsel, even if her big-screen counterpart did not. “Total no-no. A complete no-no,” the model-turned-actress said. “My character, Palmer, did it. Shame on Palmer! Make him wait. That should be something kind of special.” Lest you think everyone involved with “Just Go With It” is advising randy Americans to wait until, say, the second date to bump and grind, one co-star told us that, hey, if it feels good, go for it. “I think it probably depends. Seems like a good idea at the time, doesn’t it?” said Dave Matthews, who has a small but memorable role as an egocentric resort-goer. “If you’re both into sleeping together on the first date, I can’t think of a reason not to. Good idea!” Check out everything we’ve got on “Just Go With It.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com .

Dungeon Family Mixtape Reps ATL’s Golden Era, DJ Mars Says

Mars tells Mixtape Daily new collection features vintage Outkast, Goodie Mob and more of Atlanta’s ‘forgotten’ club music. By Jayson Rodriguez DJ Mars Photo: Getty Images Cornerstone Credentials: Dungeon Family The South is at the forefront of hip-hop these days: Rick Ross and Waka Flocka Flame rule the soundtrack of the streets, Cash Money and their long-running empire introduce new stars with increasing regularity and DJs Drama, Scream and Teknikz, among others, put out the hottest mixtapes. But back before things below the Mason-Dixon Line were poppin’, a collection of rappers and producers from Atlanta — billing themselves as the Dungeon Family — were the first to take a bite out of the Big Apple’s dominance. DJ Mars, DJ Bobby Black and Stefan the DJ (a.ka. the World Famous Superfriends) pay homage to the DF crew and mark Mars’ 20 years in the A with their latest mixtape , Forever I Love Atlanta (F.I.L.A.): The History Of the Dungeon Family. “The initial idea for the tape was to just be an all-Outkast tape,” Mars told Mixtape Daily. “And when I approached [Dungeon Family architect] Rico Wade about doing the drops, I wanted to get info about the recording process with Outkast. I been around them for a while; I was their first DJ before they got a deal. “So I saw the story before it unfolded. But then me and Bobby Black were sitting there and together thought, ‘There’s a bigger story than just Outkast,’ as crazy as it sounds. But the story is the whole Dungeon Family and how all of [the artists] were related to each of their moments. It wasn’t just Outkast and everyone was born after that.” The 31-track collection features vintage Goodie Mob, Cool Breeze and EJ Tha Witchdoctor, along with interludes from Wade, Big Gipp and T-Mo revealing stories behind the rhymes. In one clip, Wade tells a story about how actress Rosie Perez was in a mastering session with producer and then-LaFace Records head Antonio “L.A.” Reid. Once Perez started dancing to the remix of “Player’s Ball,” the doubtful executive was sold on Outkast’s debut single, Wade recalls. From there the DF movement was launched. “The mixtape represents a lost era in Atlanta hip-hop,” Mars explained. “These records, to the partying population of Atlanta, they’re irrelevant. This felt great to put together because we were able to bring to light a portion of Atlanta’s history, at least club-wise, that’s forgotten.” Last year, comprehensive stories on the history of Dungeon Family ran in the pages of Atlanta’s Creative Loafing and on Vibe.com. For Mars, this project represents a narrative just as stirring as those written stories. And that’s why he eschewed traditional mixtape devices like cutting and rowdy drops. “We sculpted the tape to be a documentary of all of their careers,” he said. 50 Cent Shows Off Shoveling Prowess On ‘Conan’

Fif talks about his impromptu snow-removal biz and his dog named Oprah. By Jayson Rodriguez 50 Cent appears on “Conan” on Wednesday Photo: TBS When 50 Cent appeared on “Conan” on Wednesday night, the entrepreneurial-minded rapper didn’t just hawk his new “Sleek by 50 Cent” wireless headphones, he told Conan O’Brien a story that demonstrated his business prowess. Last month, during the heavy snowfall that blanketed the East Coast, 50 found himself shoveling his grandmother’s driveway. After posting a picture of himself in action on Twitter, an idea went off in his head. “I wanted to see if the principles of business applied to everything,” he told the late-night host. The G-Unit general then recruited a group of neighborhood kids and went around knocking on doors to offer their snow removal services. “I sent the little guy to knock on the door,” 50 explained. “That’s low,” O’Brien shot back. “I gave them the money,” the rapper said, laughing. “I gave them some.” 50 said the collective made $1,000 from shoveling 10 homes; he also charged homeowners for a picture of him shoveling, and turned that the money over to the kids too. The jokes from the rapper didn’t stop there, though. The TBS host showed the audience a picture from 50’s Twitter profile of the rapper sitting at a desk with a schnauzer dog on his lap. The dog’s name? Oprah Winfrey. “At first I thought Oprah didn’t like hip-hop, so I didn’t like her,” he explained. “But I hadn’t had a chance to meet her. I bought the dog, and now I love her.” The rapper also has a cat named (you guessed it) Gayle, after Winfrey’s BFF Gayle King. “It was one of those things where I didn’t know what to name the cat, it just made sense,” 50 said. Although the rapper admitted he’s never met Winfrey, he told O’Brien that he has met King and admires her. “She’s great,” he said. Related Artists 50 Cent
