At Cannes: Oliver Stone Underwhelms with Wall Street 2, Economics Lectures

Screening out of competition at Cannes, Oliver Stone’s Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps was shown to journalists this morning — and yet again another gargantuan Hollywood movie gets a drubbing from the press. But hey, at least this film is timely and opened up an Oliver Stone lecture on economics.

Shia LaBeouf Admits He ‘Wasn’t Impressed’ With ‘Transformers’ Sequel

Actor says third outing ‘restores a human element that got lost in the second movie.’ By Adam Rosenberg Shia LaBeouf in “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” Photo: Paramount Last summer’s “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” left a fair number of fans and critics disappointed. For all of the slick action and convincing CG effects, a too-strong focus on the alien robots made human stars Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox feel like supporting players. LaBeouf, who is currently promoting “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps” at the Cannes Film Festival, acknowledges the sequel’s shortfalls and promises a more fulfilling experience in July 2011’s “Transformers 3.” “When I saw the second movie, I wasn’t impressed with what we did,” the actor said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in France. “There were some really wild stunts in it, but the heart was gone.” LaBeouf is about to start work on the 2011 sequel, and he’s feeling optimistic about the possibilities. After affirming that he thinks the next outing will be the best one yet, he went on to reveal that the script “restores a human element that got lost in the second movie.” MTV News recently spoke with “Transformers” producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura , who promised a third movie that digs even deeper into the established franchise’s mythology. “We are going to continue to explore the past in the third one and that will continue to inform the present,” he explained. “You try to get as close as you can to the lore, and sometimes you run into pieces where there’s not enough information to make a judgment, so you make you own call.” Fans have been hearing this for some time. Director Michael Bay has a lot of love for the “Transformers” universe, and, as a fan, he wants to do these movies right. Hasbro head Brian Goldner told MTV News as much in an interview earlier this year. “What we’re really doing is getting back to some of the core character development and storytelling. And I think there’s some elements of the core story that the filmmakers, Michael in particular, wanted to tell,” Goldner explained. “He’s really well-versed in the Transformers lore. So I think you’ll see, you know, less bedlam, more characters.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Transformers 3.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . Diddy Paid A Quiet Visit To See Lil Wayne In Prison

‘No one knew [he was here] until it was time for him to leave,’ our Rikers Island source says. By Jayson Rodriguez, with reporting by Sway Calloway and Rahman Dukes Lil Wayne Photo: MTV News Lil Wayne has been behind bars for almost two months now, and he’s managed to make headlines as if he never went away. The rapper made waves earlier this week for having headphones, a charger and a watch that doubles as an MP3 player in his jail cell, according to a source at Rikers Island who spoke to MTV News. And last week, Diddy visited the Cash Money Records superstar in jail. But according to the same Rikers source, the Bad Boy mogul made more noise in the papers than at the prison facility. “No one knew [he was here] until it was time for him to leave,” the source told MTV News. “You know, also, a lot of the time people don’t want to seem like they’re stargazers, the officers.” Diddy has yet to comment about his Lil Wayne visit. The rapper has picked up a job while at the Eric M. Taylor correctional facility, but with his recent infraction, he may be stripped of his duties as suicide-prevention aide. Prior to his violation, the Rikers Island source said Lil Wayne has blended in with the rest of the prison population. “It’s just day-to-day business, nothing different than anything else,” the source said of the New Orleans MC’s activities. “You got to understand, this is a different type of atmosphere. It’s not like the prisons where you go upstate, to Sing Sing or places like that. This is a medium-security [population], not maximum security.” Are you awaiting Lil Wayne’s release? Diddy-Dirty Money Say ‘Hello, Good Morning’ In Frenzied New Video

The Bad Boy mogul’s latest clip features guest appearances by T.I., Rick Ross and Swizz Beatz. By Jayson Rodriguez Diddy in his video for “Dirty Money” Photo: Bad Boy Diddy ‘s gone on record explaining that his Last Train to Paris album will revolve around a narrative that follows the hip-hop mogul as he embarks on a journey to reunite with a would-be love. The excursion will take the Bad Boy Records CEO from London to Paris, with each record detailing his lovesick pursuit. So it’s only right that Diddy’s new video for “Hello, Good Morning,” the third clip from his Dirty Money project, would be a study in frenzied energy. Featuring Rick Ross and T.I., along with a cameo by Swizz Beatz, the video premiered Thursday (May 13) on Vevo. While the visual is set in Los Angeles, with the exception of a passing shot of the Staples Center, the city is anonymous. Ross opens the clip, backed by Diddy, Swizz and Dirty Money’s Dawn Richards and Kalenna. “Hello, good morning/ Tell me what the liq read/ Pretty face, thin waist, with the sick weave/ First time fish-tailing in the six-speed,” Ross spits, in a club scene. “Real bad boy, tell them come and get me.” Diddy speeds across the city in a bug-eyed Bugatti, with a helicopter tailing him ominously, as he recites the song’s chorus. Tip kicks his “5 Star” flow with two beautiful women draped over him in a hotel penthouse suite. Diddy ends the proceedings with a bang, literally, as he raps the third verse in a wide-open lot as fireworks go off behind him and his two female DM counterparts. The Diddy-Dirty Money video follows clips for the singles “Love Comes Down” and “Angels.” “We’re just trying to roll it out properly,” Diddy told MTV News last year about the long-awaited album. “I wanted a chance to lay out songs for you. A lot of singles we putting out now — that’s the introduction. We didn’t even get to that Train music. We’re hitting you with warning shots, letting you know we’re here.” What do you think about Diddy’s latest video? Let us know in the comments! Related Artists Diddy

Larry Birkhead Admits: I’m Greedy!

Let’s give Larry Birkhead credit for honesty. Ever since Anna Nicole Smith’s death, this total loser has exploited his former lover’s passing by posing the daughter he had with her (Dannielynn) for various paparazzi and tabloid photo ops. Seriously, look at this and try not to vomit. We’ve called Birkhead out on numerous occasions because he likely made money off his child, a despicable act, especially considering the fact that life in the spotlight couldn’t have helped Anna Nicole with her substance abuse problems over the years. Now, Larry is at it again – but at least he admits that he’s exploiting Smith’s memory for cold, hard cash. Birkhead is auctioning off Anna Nicole’s Mercedes, dog bed and pieces of artwork to raise funds for himself and his thre-year-old daughter. “It’s like, do I want to hold on to one of Anna’s dresses, or do I want to try to help Dannielynn’s future,” Birkhead said, trying to sound altruistic. “We have money. We have more than enough to survive on. [Auction proceeds] would just supplement that.” Know what else would supplement the money you’ve already made off Smith’s legacy, Larry? Getting a job! The auction will take place on June 26 and proceeds will go to the Anna Nicole and Daniel Wayne Smith Foundation. This would be a noble idea, if causes other than Larry Birkhead himself benefitted from it.

Mavado On Co-Starring In Drake’s ‘Find Your Love’ Video

Dancehall star says he may appear on a remix for the song. By Rahman Dukes Mavado Photo: Young Money Dancehall artist Mavado is one bad dude. In the Anthony Mandler-directed clip for Drake’s latest single, “Find Your Love,” the singer delivers on his promise of a threat against Drizzy, who was warned to stay away from the Boss’ lady. As a result, Drake pays the ultimate price for his decision to move forward with his romantic pursuit of Mavado’s leading lady (or does he? The ending of the video is left open). But when the cameras are off, Movado says he Drake are good friends. “Me and Drake were friends for quite some time now,” Mavado told MTV News on Tuesday (May 11). “He ended up coming to Jamaica together with me while I was finishing my album. And he said, ‘Yo, I want to do this in Jamaica.’ The video with me and Drake, it’s a bit different, but trust me, it’s very perfect. I’m loving that video.” Mavado’s character in “Find Your Love,” Puffy, is first introduced in the video at Kingston’s landmark Asylum Club, although it’s called “The Building” in the clip. Mavado said that’s just one of the ideas he brought to the table for the dramatic clip. “They came up with the script and I knew what they really wanted,” he said. “Me and my man, we’re in Jamaica and I’m on the ‘Gully Side,’ so I know just the perfect spot.” Contrary to the storyline in the video, which ends with Drake’s capture by some of the island’s most notorious thugs — a.k.a. “dogs” — Mavado said his people had nothing but love for the Canadian. “It’s a good vibe on the ‘Gully Side’ and the part where I’m from, the people love him there.” Last month during his Away From Home Tour, Drake echoed Mavado’s words “We went to this ‘hood. They call it the ‘gully’ side’ ” Drake said. “It’s bad out there, real bad. They had ‘Young Money’ sprayed on the gates, ‘Drake and Wayne,’ ’cause I came to shoot the video out there. I’m talking about you drive by people’s homes, they had ‘Drake,’ ‘Young Money,’ ‘Drake, Welcome Here,’ ‘Drake We Love You’ — crazy sh–, man. It was so crazy. This dude was like, ‘Original Weezy tha God! You tha boss! Weezy tha God!’ It’s crazy. They love us, ’cause we show love out there.” According to Mavado, the collaboration on “Find Your Love” is just the first offering between the pair, and fans should expect more to come. “Me and Drake, we already been talking about it but you know, Drake is on his tour doing his thing. But I guess when it’s the right time, it’s going to happen. I believe it’s soon. I’m supposed to do a remix for that song.” What do you think of Drake’s new video? Let us know in the comments below! Kellan Lutz And Ashley Greene’s Pay Dispute

It’s being reported that Twilight stars, Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene , may not return for the second Breaking Dawn movie after a dispute involving pay. The fourth installment of the vampire series is being broken up into two parts and deals are pretty close for the lead actors, while contracts for some co-stars have already been signed. But it looks like Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene are still arguing out a deal. The money they are being offered is ‘offensive’, according to reports, because of the money the franchise has made. Could they be replaced? Only time will tell. There is still time to iron things out. The movie is set to start shooting later this year.
