The two decided to team up and develop a solution. The app—which was founded in 2015—connects barbers and customers. Through SQUIRE, individuals can find barbershops in their area, read customer reviews, and book appointments. Customers also have the opportunity to pay for their haircuts through the app. SQUIRE goes beyond simply booking haircut appointments, it provides barbers throughout the country with the platform to sell products and promote their brand. There is a wide range of shops that are included in the app’s directory, including large high-end shops and small locally owned businesses. The app was launched in New York and expanded to cities like Atlanta, San Francisco and Los Angeles. It now features barbershops in 28 cities. Since its inception, there have been $100 million in transactions processed through the app. The fundraising round was led by Trinity Ventures. “Millions of men need haircuts daily and are looking to find the right barbershop, but the process is usually unnecessarily hard and time consuming,” said Salvant in an interview with Forbes . “SQUIRE lets you locate a barber, schedule your appointment and pay from anywhere you are, now making the process quick and convenient.” The entrepreneurs plan on putting the money raised towards marketing and hiring engineers to work on the app’s infrastructure. “In talking to customers, we realized there was a lot of opportunity to build value in a backend management system,” LaRon said in a statement, according to TechCrunch. Both LaRon and Salvant are carving out a space in an industry that is worth billions. According to Statista , the barber industry is expected to be valued at $26 billion by next year. SMH: Missouri Health Department Declines License Renewal For State’s Last Abortion Clinic

Source: NurPhoto / Getty Missouri’s Last Abortion Clinic Gets Their License Renewal Declined The health department in Missouri has officially declined to renew the license of the state’s last and only abortion clinic on Friday. This move could eventually make Missouri the first state in the U.S. without an abortion clinic in decades–But for now, the clinic will continue providing abortion services while a court injunction remains in effect. The state’s Department of Health and Senior Services announced that it wouldn’t renew the license for the Reproductive Health Services of Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region before a court hearing on Friday. The clinic’s license was set to expire on May 31, but a St. Louis Circuit Court issued a preliminary injunction that kept its doors open. That injunction will stay in effect until further ruling from the court, according to a judge in a hearing on Friday morning. “We will continue providing abortion care for as long as the court protects our ability to do so,” explained Colleen McNicholas, a reproductive health doctor at the St. Louis clinic. Earlier this month, Circuit Judge Michael Stelzer set a June 21 deadline for the state’s health department to decide whether to renew the clinic’s license. With the department’s decision not to renew on Friday, the judge must now decided next steps. At the hearing, Judge Stelzer said he would issue at least one more order on the case. “I can’t imagine that injunction can stand for too long,” said Rigel Oliveri, a professor at the University of Missouri School of Law. “That’s a tough spot for the court to be in, ordering a medical facility to be open when it’s been ordered to be closed for patient safety reasons.” Director of the Department of Health and Senior Services, Randall Williams, said Friday that the department chose not to renew the license after the clinic failed to address a number of issues raised by the state. “Access is always incredible important to us,” Dr. Williams said. “But, just understand, in the regulatory environment, our North Star is always the individual who’s getting patient care. We never let anything interfere with the basic patient care that a patient is receiving.” Ahead of this decision, the clinic announced it would no longer comply with a state regulation that Planned Parenthood said required doctors to perform two pelvic exams before an abortion. Dr. Williams said he would enact an emergency rule to allow the clinic to defer the additional pelvic exam. For years, state regulations have required patients receiving abortions to undergo a pelvic exam before the procedure. But recently, the clinic said, the state has required an additional pelvic exam to take place during state-mandated counseling sessions, which occur 72 hours before the procedure. Clinic doctors have described the additional exam as medically unnecessary. Missouri is one of six states with only one abortion clinic, including Kentucky, Mississippi, West Virginia, North Dakota and South Dakota, according to the Guttmacher Institute. Lawmakers in Missouri passed legislation last month that prohibited abortion after eight weeks of pregnancy, except in cases of medical emergency. More liberal state legislatures, like in neighboring Illinois, have enacted laws enshrining abortion protections in response to the possibility of more limited access to the procedure.

People Ain’t Isht: Mother Arrested For Abandoning Her 9-Year-Old Son At McDonald’s To Gamble

Source: S3studio / Getty Mother Arrested For Abandoning Her Boy In McDonald’s A mother in Phoenix, Arizona left her 9-year-old child alone at McDonald’s to gamble at a casino because, “he drives [her] crazy.” According to reports from Yahoo Lifestyle , 34-year-old Stacy Rupp dropped off her 9-year-old son at McDonald’s on Wednesday evening at around 8:30 p.m. before hitting Desert Diamond Casino, located about a mile away. An employee observed the unsupervised boy looking “dirty and disheveled” and ended up calling the police. While he was there, the staff gifted the young boy with a coloring book, ice cream, and cookies, read a police report. Officer Brandon Sheffert of the  Peoria Police Department told Yahoo that the child was not upset. He said his mother dropped him off in order to gamble but noted, “She always comes back.” Her son had been left unattended for two hours. Rupp ended up arriving only minutes after law enforcement — and she came with excuses. According to the police report, Rupp first told officers she was grocery shopping at a nearby Fry’s Marketplace, but couldn’t provide any proof. She then proceeded to admit that she “messed up,” and went to the casino. “He drives me crazy and steals my money,” she said in the police report. According to AZ Family , court documents state that Rupp “did not provide a cell phone or any type of means of communication to the victim for him to get in contact with her in case of an emergency.” Stacy Rupp was arrested and charged with child abuse and endangerment. A future court date has been set for July.

Kylie Jenner Is Afraid Travis Scott Just Wants to Marry Her For Her Money [Report]

For months now, rumors about Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott getting married have been circulating non-stop on social media. That’s not terribly surprising, of course. Kylie and Travis have a daughter together, and their relationship seems solid. It makes sense that they would be considering taking the next step together. Insiders say that Kylie and Travis are secretly engaged  and have been hard at work been planning an epic (and possibly televised) wedding. So what’s the holdup? Well, if a new report from Radar Online is to be believed, Kylie is getting cold feet over concerns that Travis is after her substantial fortune. “Kylie isn’t even sure that she wants to spend the rest of her life with him anymore,” an insider tells the site. “She feels like she hasn’t gotten to experience men to know that he is the one she wants to be with forever.” At just 21, Kylie is right to be worried that she’s too young to know what she really wants and needs in a relationship. But it seems that for all of her concerns, the world’s youngest “self-made” billionaire is mostly worried about her financial future: “Kylie is very aware of how her money would affect their marriage,” says the source. “She doesn’t want to have the conversation with Travis about a prenup, or anything like that.” Apparently, Kylie’s sudden hesitance is partially due to the fact that — between her daughter and her close-knit set of siblings — she feels that she already has all the family she needs. “Prior to having Stormi, Kylie was so desperate to get married because all she wanted was a man to love her forever,” says the source. “But after having Stormi, Kylie no longer craves that type of love because she has found it in her daughter. She is not in a rush for anything anymore.” So Kylie already has so much love and money in her life that she’s reluctant to rock the boat? Sounds like a good problem to have — and a great reason for her to hold off on tying the knot until she’s absolutely certain! Kanye West & Pusha T Hit With A Lawsuit Over Uncleared Sample

Original post:

Source: Brian Ach / Getty Looks like Kanye and Pusha T might have to cough up some hard earned dough for not clearing a music sample for Pusha’s 2018 album, Daytona . According to Times Daily , FAME Enterprises Inc. has slapped the controversial producer with a lawsuit claiming that Pusha’s “Come Back Baby” contains a sample of George Jackson’s ’72 song “I Can’t Do Without You.” George Jackson recorded “I Can’t Do Without You” at FAME before 1972, which makes it exempt from the Copyright Act of 1972, according to the filing. The suit lists defendants as West, Pusha-T and UMG Recordings, which owns the Def Jam Recordings label and sub-label of Def Jam Recordings. Def Jam and GOOD also are listed as defendants. The plaintiffs were really specific with their allegations too while throwing a little shade at both Kanye and Pusha T for jacking beats. The suit states “Come Back Baby” lasts 3 minutes, 27 seconds with the Jackson sample comprising 1 minute, 13 seconds of it. “This means that over 35 percent of the entire sound recording ‘Come Back Baby’ is comprised of unauthorized, unlicensed samples of ‘I Can’t Do Without You,’” the suit declares. It further states that “Come Back Baby” is “about drug addiction and the money made from selling drugs,” and that the plaintiffs would not have authorized licensing the song “for such a use under any circumstances.” The filing also asserts, “Defendants have a pattern and practice of willfully sampling sound recordings without consent or permission.” Though FAME Enterprises Inc. is demanding that this trial go to the jury, we have a feeling Yeezy might just up and decide to settle this out of court for an undisclosed amount of money.
