Katy Perry Teases Teenage Dream Special Edition With Song Previews

Snippets of ‘Dressin’ Up’ and ‘Wide Awake’ give fans taste of the March 27 release. By Jocelyn Vena Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection Photo: Jive is set to release Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection later this month, and in two new teases , the singer is displaying her signature sense of sass. Mid-tempo track “Wide Awake” is big and full of emotion. The song seems to pick up where her single “Part of Me” left off. While “Part” is a kiss-off, “Wide Awake” is all about the empowerment one feels after letting go of someone. “I’m wide awake, not losing any sleep/ I picked up every piece, and landed on my feet/ I’m wide awake, need nothing to complete myself,” she sings. “I’m wide awake, I am born again/ Out of the lion’s den, I don’t have to pretend/ And it’s too late, the story’s over now/ The end.” The other teased track, “Dressin’ Up,” is on the other end of the spectrum. All Katy feels on the song is sexy and sexed up. Produced by Tricky Stewart, it’s a synthy, crunchy, grinding dance song, on which she sings, “Oh boy tell me your fantasy/ Tonight’s the night/ Tonight I’m gonna come alive/ Make you forget about your nine to five/ Are you ready for your blood to rise/ Tonight’s the night I’m dressin’ up for you.” “This song is really special,” Stewart told MTV News about the track. “It definitely fits. It’s right there in what her sensibilities are as a musician and a songwriter. She doesn’t change much. She has a very keen musical taste. It’ll be really good.” The songs on the album, which drops on March 27, are an extension of 2010’s Teenage Dream, but feel fresh enough to stand on their own as well. “With Teenage Dream, the reasons why I wanted to put out this special edition, Complete Confection, is two major reasons for me: One, I’m doing it mostly for the hard-core fans because they always love all the extras,” Perry told MTV News earlier this month. “The second reason I wanted to do it is because it’s my one last push, to push that person that is on the precipice of becoming a fan,” she continued. “They’re thinking to themselves, ‘I bought four or five singles, maybe I should actually complete my album and now I should really complete my album because I’m gonna get 19 songs for a really great price.’ I think it’s like a bargain and I’m doing it for my fans.” Related Videos MTV News Extended Play: Katy Perry Related Artists Katy Perry

Race Matters: Maya Angelou Agrees With Morgan Freeman That Black History Month Is A Bunch On Bullisht!

Can’t really argue with their logic… Author and activist Maya Angelou hopes for a time when Black History Month will no longer be needed to explain the contributions of African-Americans. “We want to reach a time when there won’t be Black History Month, when black history will be so integrated into American history that we study it along with every other history,” she said in an interview from her home in Winston-Salem, N.C., on Wednesday. “That’s the hope, and we have to continue to work until that is true, until that becomes a fact.” In the meantime, she said, she will continue to put the history out there. Angelou is hosting an hour-long syndicated radio special on the civil rights era that will air throughout this month on about 200 public radio stations across the country. Her special features Grammy award-winning singer Mary J. Blige, Democratic Rep. John Lewis of Georgia, former U.N. Ambassador Andrew Young, economist and Bennett College President Julianne Malveaux, and professor Nikky Finney, winner of the 2011 National Book Award for poetry. Angelou, 83, said she hopes the program sends a message that “the work of making our country more than it is today” is unfinished. Marloes Horst Shaving a Black Man for Black History Month of the Day

Happy Black History Month motherfuckers…. I will do everything in my power to support the black man this month. To remember that Don Cornelius died for our sins. To keep all black race specific jokes to myself even if joking about stereotypes is my thing. I will also try to trick at least one black girl to have sex with me, without a condom, ideally to knock her up, and fulfill that one gap in my sexual history that is experiencing blackness first hand with nothing between us…. I love my black readers, friends, family members. I hate the oppression and fight you’ve had to make….but at least the white man gave you your own TV Network. Here’s some brand new pics of hot Marloes Horst , a model I want to fuck cuz she comes stock with a vagina, in Harper’s Bazaar Australia….shaving a black man in Africa….like she fucking should….cuz it’s black history month…respect the black man….motherfucker.

Adele ‘Can’t Wait’ To Sing Live At Grammys

Singer has not performed since undergoing vocal cord surgery in November. By Christina Garibaldi Adele Photo: Jon Furniss/ WireImage After months of vocal rest, Adele is returning to the stage for her first live performance, and she’s doing it at the Grammys . The six-time Grammy nominee will grace the stage live on February 12 for the first time since undergoing surgery to stop bleeding from a polyp on her vocal cords in November. Adele broke the good news to her fans on Tuesday (January 31) via Twitter . “Ima be, Ima be singing at the Grammys. It’s been so long I started to forget I was a singer!” Adele tweeted. “I can’t wait, speak soon xx.” This will be the second time that Adele has graced the Grammy stage. She performed her hit song “Chasing Pavements” in 2009 at the annual awards show. That same night, Adele took home two awards, for Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for “Pavements.” In a statement on Tuesday afternoon, the U.K. singer expressed gratitude. “I’m immensely proud to have been asked to perform at this year’s Grammy Awards,” she said. “It’s an absolute honor to be included in such a night and for it to be my first performance in months is very exciting and of course nerve-racking, but what a way to get back into it all.” This year, Adele has plenty of company from other A-list nominees set to sing at the show. Rihanna, Coldplay , Taylor Swift , Paul McCartney, Foo Fighters, Bruno Mars , Kelly Clarkson, Jason Aldean and Nicki Minaj will all perform live at the 54th Annual Grammys, which will be hosted by LL Cool J , the first time in seven years that the show has featured a host. Earlier this month, Adele expressed her excitement about the awards, tweeting , “Looking forward to @theGRAMMYs on Feb 12! #WeAreMusic.” Adele is up for six awards this year, including Song of the Year, Record of the Year and Album of the Year for her record-breaking 21. Just last week, the “Rolling in the Deep” singer’s second album marked its 17th non-consecutive week at #1 on the Billboard albums chart. The singer will follow her performance at the Grammys by taking the stage on February 21 at the Brit Awards , where she has three nominations. Earlier this month Adele took to her Twitter about the nominations. “F—ing happy, thank you for the nods xx,” she tweeted . Are you excited to see Adele perform at the Grammy Awards?
