Still, he performed his duties as Syracuse head coach… until it came to ESPN reporter Andy Katz. Responding to a simple question about the historic rivalry between the schools, Boeheim cut Katz off and then cut him down to size with: “I’ll answer anyone’s question but yours because you’re an idiot and really a disloyal person. And a few other things I can add, but I’m not gonna go there.” Andy Katz Idiot Insult It’s unclear what set Boeheim off, as sources say he hasn’t even talked to Katz since late 2011. A difficult sports loss turned violent last night outside the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, as multiple sources confirm a 35-year old man was stabbed in the neck following his team’s 28-24 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. According to WSB-TV, the victim got into a verbal altercation with two San Francisco supporters. Toward the end of it, someone in the latter group pulled out a knife. Said a witness of the incident: “One of the falcons Fans just kept talking, telling him, “You ain’t going to come here and win and nothing,’ and he hit the man, and that’s what happened. The man went into his pocket and cut him.” Police quickly surrounded the scene and used pepper spray to calm the combatants down. The weapon was then recovered and the victim transported to Grady Hospital. He is listed in stable condition, but the attacker remains at large.

Wow, I cannot believe I am finally able to write one of these things. I used to be so envious of all the other girls who were able to write Bieber experiences. Now I am one of those beliebers. My Bieber fan journey started way back in October 2009. Justin meant the world to me and I spent the majority of my time watching his videos, looking at pictures, and talking to my Twitter friends. Without going into detail, I tried multiple times to see Justin live. I was never able to. Finally, when the Believe tour dates came out, my mom finally allowed me to get tickets. However, Ticketmaster failed me. I was used to the let down. I, yet again, wouldn’t be seeing Justin Bieber live in concert. As October came around, I realized there was a month until Justin’s concert in New Jersey. I had to get to that concert. I asked my mom numerous times and hinted to let me buy tickets off Stubhub (or wait outside the venue with the hopes of getting tickets from Alfredo, Allison, Scooter, etc.). The concert was on Friday, November 9. My mom finally agreed to buying tickets off Stubhub the Tuesday before the concert. On Wednesday, my dad said he’d bring my friend and I. I was so beyond happy. I was finally going to see Justin Bieber live. It was going to be from nosebleed seats, but with complete honesty I did not care one bit. All I had to do was buy the tickets Thursday night and I would be seeing my idol live, finally. On Thursday at 4:07 p.m., I tweeted “Absolutely nothing could ruin my mood. NOTHING.” Thursday at 4:30 was when everything changed. Thirty minutes before I was going to purchase tickets, a FedEx man arrived at my house with an envelope. It was addressed to me. I was clueless as to what it was, but I opened it. All there was inside was a yellow paper folded in thirds. I was so confused. Until I saw tickets sticking out of the paper. I pull the tickets out and all I see is ”JUSTIN BIEBER, IZOD CENTER” and I completely freaked out! I had no idea how or why or where I got these tickets from. It was a miracle, a gift from God. I looked at the yellow paper and it said “Ubisoft Just Dance to Justin Sweepstakes- CONGRATULATIONS!” I started pacing around the room saying oh my God a thousand times. My older sister was sitting there watching this whole thing unfold. She looked at the paper and said, “Mary, you didn’t read this whole thing.” I looked at the paper and saw ”Meet and Greet” and that is when I lost it. I was shaking and crying. I had no idea what to do. This was a miracle. I checked my email for a Congratulations email. And there was one I received 6 days beforehand saying that I had to respond by November 5 or I forfeit the prize. The reason I didn’t see the email is because I was out of power for 10 days (October 29 til November 7) from Hurricane Sandy. I emailed them that and they completely understood and said my prize was definitely still valid. Wow, this is really happening. A week before I was nervous as hell about asking my mom if I could get tickets. Two days before I didn’t even have tickets. But then out of no where, I was going to MEET Justin Bieber. I was going to meet my idol. We got to the venue around 3:20 and eventually got our wristbands to meet Justin. We “had” to be in a group of 6 so we asked these 4 other ladies to join us. It turned out they were apart of the marketing team for Justin’s perfume. They were so awesome and sent my friend and I both 6 bottles of perfume including Someday and Girlfriend! After waiting on line to meet Justin for a little while, it was our turn next. My friend and I were freaking out. I could not believe Justin Bieber was right behind that black curtain. Kenny was standing there and I managed to say ”Hi Kenny!” and Kenny said “Hey, how you doing?” As soon as Kenny pulled back that black curtain and I saw Justin for the first time ever, I couldn’t believe my eyes. I can’t even explain the thoughts running through my head. I know everyone says this, but he looked absolutely FLAWLESS. I could not fathom the fact that I was seeing in person the boy I’ve been a fan of for so long, the boy in the posters on my wall, and the boy I’ve watched thousands of videos of. Justin held out his arms for us to get next to him. I don’t even know how, but I said hi to Justin and then said- ”This is my first time seeing you in 3 years.” And he looked down at me and said “This is MY first time seeing you in 3 years.” Basically, my heart melted. We took the picture. And as the rest of my group was leaving I said, ”Can I have a hug?” and Justin said, “Yeah, here!” We hugged and then I walked out. It was the greatest experience of my life and I am truly, truly blessed that my dream came true. We eventually got to our seats and man, we were sooo close. I yet again could not believe I was finally seeing Justin Bieber in concert that closely. It was absolutely perfect. Saying Justin put on an amazing show is an understatement. He’s a fantastic performer and I cannot wait to see him live again. Honestly, to all Beliebers trying to meet Justin or get tickets, NEVER SAY NEVER! I don’t know a more true saying than that. You just have to wait for your time to come, and it will. I waited for 3 years! I cried so many times because I couldn’t see him. But finally, all my tears and dedication has paid off. I figured meeting him would never happen, at least not any time soon, so I settled for finally seeing him live. I never in a million years thought I would be able to say, ”I JUST MET JUSTIN BIEBER.” I lived my dream and it was the greatest, most magical experience ever. Trust me, your time will come. Always believe, always fight for what you want, and always never say never. And to Justin- Thank you for being you. Thank you for teaching me and all your fans to never say never and to believe in our dreams. Because of the incredible experience I had, I truly know what you mean by “never say never.” It still doesn’t feel real or like it happened. Thank you for being the biggest inspiration out there. Whether you’re in the mood for serious German cinema (that mixes in some genre tropes) or ass-kicking science fiction (flavored with pungent political satire), there’s plenty for all tastes this week. HIGH: Fritz Lang: The Early Works (Kino Classics; $39.95 DVD) WHO’S RESPONSIBLE: This trio of early works by legendary German director Fritz Lang includes an adaptation of the classic opera Madame Butterfly and two films Lang co-wrote with his then-wife Thea von Harbou that feature actor Rudolf Klein-Rogge — two key collaborators on Lang’s masterpiece, Metropolis . WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT: 1919’s Harakiri , the Madame Butterfly adaptation, tells the story of a Japanese girl and her doomed romance with a European officer who abandons her. The Wandering Shadow (1920), Lang and von Harbou’s first collaboration, follows a woman fleeing from a sex scandal and her eventual shot at redemption. Four Around the Woman , from 1921, sees a socialite falling victim to a crime…or is she involved in a blackmail plot? WHY IT’S SCHMANCY: Before he fled Nazi Germany, before M and Metropolis , even before Spies and the Dr. Mabuse movies, Fritz Lang was a successful filmmaker in Weimar-era Germany, when Expressionism was the happening thing. For scholars who wanted to explore the master’s entire oeuvre, however, many of Lang’s earliest films were difficult to access. Harakiri was one of four films Lang made in 1919, his first year as a director. And yes, the film has German actors performing in yellowface, but at least the filmmakers bothered to get genuine Japanese costumes and artifacts from the Hamburg Anthropological Museum. This DVD features restorations mastered from 35mm elements. WHY YOU SHOULD BUY IT: Fritz Lang: The Early Works should appeal to more than just Lang completists. Anyone who cares about the roots of movies or just wants to check out silent cinema at its most vibrant should pick up this collection. LOW: They Live (Collector’s Edition) (Scream Factory; $19.93 DVD, $29.93 Blu-Ray) WHO’S RESPONSIBLE: Written (under the pseudonym “Frank Armitage”) and directed by John Carpenter; starring “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, Keith David, Meg Foster. WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT: A homeless drifter (Piper) finds a stash of special sunglasses that allow him to see the truth about the world around him: the rich and powerful are actually aliens who are destroying the planet and manipulating humans with subliminal messages in the media that induce people to consume mindlessly and to conform. WHY IT’S FUN: Released in 1988, Ronald Reagan’s last year in office, They Live is one of the most stinging satires of the Gipper’s era. Carpenter basically implied that yuppie-ism and the rest of the decade’s excesses were the product of cultural manipulation. (Okay, so extraterrestrials were behind the whole thing, but it’s an intriguing idea.) And if you’re not in the mood to look for political perspective, there are gross aliens and crazy shoot-outs and a fight scene between Piper and David that goes on…and on…and on…into cinema legend. WHY YOU SHOULD BUY IT (AGAIN): This new Collector’s Edition features great new goodies, including interviews with Foster (who’s still got Those Eyes), David and Carpenter, plus previously unseen footage from the original TV spots for the movie and a featurette on the visual style, scoring and stunts.
