We’ve already seen several clips of Jesse James baring his soul to Good Morning America and Nightline, but they saved the strongest revelation for the full interview. Last night, James admitted that he was the victim of abuse as a child, and that the shame of that drove him to cheat on Sandra Bullock and destroy their marriage. Anybody buying it? “I was a terrorized kid,” James said of beatings from his dad. “I was petrified of my dad,” he continued. “It wasn’t so much getting the $h!t beat out of me or getting my arm broken or getting kicked or whatever or punched, it was all the in-between time. It was the fear of that happening again.” As a result of his lack of self-worth, he said, “I grew up with a huge amount of shame and fear and abandonment on my shoulders from a very young age, and I think, you know, the way my mind rationalized [cheating].” Is Jesse James’ troubled past to blame for his troubled present? “‘I thought, ‘Well, you know, I might as well do whatever I can to, like, run her off, ’cause she is going to find out what I am anyway and leave me anyway.'” Again … anybody buying it? Jesse James, who says he wanted to get caught , added, “The struggle within myself for the things that I did … to damage marriage and my life, it’s all me. I’m doing this because, you know, I’ve basically never felt good enough for anyone.” “He beat my ass pretty good a bunch of times,” James said of his father, Larry, who raised him after his parents divorced. “I just remember, like, the clinched teeth, a strained-neck look on his face. My whole childhood, I was always scared.” Larry James tells ABC his son’s allegations of abuse are not true. Regardless, do you view Sandra’s soon-to-be-ex in a different light since these interviews? Do you forgive Jesse? Either way, child abuse is no joke, and we certainly feel bad for James. If nothing else, Jesse James deserves credit for being honest and contrite. In his interview with Good Morning America this morning, James opened up about cheating on Sandra Bullock, as well as the now infamous Nazi picture . You know, the one where he’s giving the Hitler salute. While saying he doesn’t even recall taking it, he claims, “It was a joke … that was funny then.” “Looking at it in the context of now and my life, it’s not funny.” Ya think? James, who says he wanted to get caught cheating , adds that being called a racist on top of the things he did has been upsetting, and is untrue – his only prerequisite for adopting a baby was that the baby that needed them the most. Jesse says Sandra “was proud of me” for entering rehab and that seeing Sandra now with baby Louis, who will carry her name only, makes him very sad. He would not criticize how the situation was handled in the press, though, choosing only to praise Sandra’s role as a mother , saying how awesome she is. None of this takes away what he did, but at least he faced the music directly, unlike Mr. Corporate Tiger Woods and his manufactured non-apologies. What do you think? By Josh Wigler Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato Photo: Kevin Mazur/VF1/WireImage Fast-growing rumors regarding the breakup of musicians Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato were confirmed Monday night (May 24) when Jonas, 20, revealed to People magazine that he’d decided to end his relationship with Lovato in order to focus on their friendship. “Demi and I knew going into our romantic relationship that it may not be an easy one,” Jonas told People. “I realize over the time we have shared together that I feel I care more about our friendship right now. It was my choice to break up but I love her as a friend. She’s been there for me when I needed her. I will continue to be her friend and be there for her.” For her own account, the 17-year-old Lovato took to her Twitter feed to clarify some of the rumors surrounding her breakup with Jonas. “I’d like to clear a few things up,” she said. “First, Joe and I did split but it wasn’t over the phone. Things didn’t work out but we’ll remain friends. Secondly, I am NOT dating anybody already. Nothing is more important to me than the relationship I have with my fans. Just thought you guys should know this.” Despite the split, Jonas and Lovato will still tour together this summer beginning with a July 27 performance in Dallas. “We’re working out all the details right now for the tour,” Nick Jonas told MTV News of the upcoming trek. “It’s gonna be a fun night of music. Greene will join Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette in sequel. She recently wrapped a starring role in “The Apparition” opposite Sebastian Stan (“Gossip Girl”) and Tom Felton (“Harry Potter”), and now she’s looking to step into a lead part in “Scream 4.” Greene’s rep confirmed to MTV News that the 23-year-old actress has been offered the starring role, joining returning stars Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette. The news was first reported by The Hollywood Reporter. Greene would play Campbell’s cousin, who is being established as the franchise’s new heroine for both “Scream 4” and future installments of the horror series. Additionally, Lake Bell is said to be in negotiations for a starring role, while Hayden Panettiere (“Heroes”) and Rory Culkin (“Signs”) have been offered parts. Panettiere would play Greene’s best friend, and Culkin would play Greene’s love interest. With “Scream 4” coming more than a decade after its predecessor, Campbell originally bowed out of the production , declining to reprise her role as Sid, the unfortunate girl who’s always on the run from the Ghostface Killer. Campbell’s decision forced franchise creator Kevin Williamson to go back to the drawing board . But the actress eventually reconsidered, Wes Craven signed on to direct and the film will hit theaters in April 2011. “We have fun with the idea of endless sequels, or ‘sequelitis’ as Kevin calls it in the script,” Craven said recently of the upcoming movie. “Sid goes through these three horrendous things, and ‘Stab’ was based on those horrible things. And then they’ve been taken by a studio and run into the ground in a series of sequels. She has been off by herself and living her own life, and she’s even written a book that has gotten a lot of critical acclaim. She’s kind of put her life back together in the course of these 10 years. By MTV News Staff Nick Jonas Performs with the “Jonas Brothers” on “Good Morning America” Friday Photo: ABC Throngs of screaming girls gathered to watch the Jonas Brothers along with pal Demi Lovato when they all stopped by “Good Morning America” on Friday (May 21). The guys played old favorite “Burnin’ Up,” in addition to a new tune from their TV show, now called “JONAS L.A.,” and a track from their upcoming Disney movie. The brothers were joined by tourmate and “Camp Rock 2” co-star Demi Lovato for the first single off the movie’s soundtrack, “Can’t Back Down.” As backup dancers livened up the scene, Nick played drums and both Joe and Kevin played guitar. Although they burned up the audience with their performance, the hot topic of discussion on the show was the JoBros’ elevator incident that occurred last weekend after they played in Los Angeles. “We did a show at The Grove in L.A. and right after that happened, we got stuck in the elevator for like an hour,” Kevin Jonas explained. Joe admitted that since then, he’s been feeling if-y about riding in elevators. “Who panicked? I think we all had a moment where we were freaking out,” he said. “I’m gonna avoid elevators for a little while. Ok so yesterday we showed you Matthew Fox going into David Letterman’s show looking sparkly and tip top. In stark contrast a subdued Fox was seen entering the Good Morning America studios.
