Amy Winehouse Looks Healthy, Happy In ‘Body And Soul’ Video

By Gil Kaufman Tony Bennett and Amy Winehouse in “Body And Soul” Photo: Sony Music Entertainment Nearly two months after her shocking death , the final video and song recorded by late British soul star Amy Winehouse dropped on Wednesday (September 14), and it shows the “Rehab” singer in fine form. The duet with jazz icon Tony Bennett on the standard “Body and Soul” premiered at 6 a.m. on MTV, VH1, MTV Hits and mtvU and will be repeated on an hourly basis throughout the morning, after which it will be available online on MTV.com. The clip opens with Bennett taking the lead as Winehouse looks on coquettishly, often seen in soft focus as the elder statesman sings, “My heart is sad and lonely/ For you I sigh, for you dear only/ Why haven’t you seen it/ I’m all for you body and soul.” And then it’s Winehouse’s turn, as the singer known for her often shambolic live performances is seen on her best behavior, focusing in on the lines “I spend my days in longing/ And wondering why it’s me you’re wronging/ I tell you I mean it/ I’m all for you body and soul.” The video footage of the two singing together is bittersweet, with Winehouse looking healthy and alert, twirling her hair flirtatiously as she matches Bennett note for note on the standard. Wearing a short black skirt and one of the plaid sweaters from her Fred Perry fashion collection , her hair in a signature bouffant and her lids smeared with Cleopatra-style cat-eye mascara, a smiling Winehouse holds her own with Bennett and seems to enjoy the challenge of working with the icon. After moving her arms around nervously while singing, at one point Winehouse kisses her golden necklace, then looks up and points to the ceiling. The song will appear on Bennett’s Duets II project, which is due out on Tuesday and also features songs with Mariah Carey, Lady Gaga, Carrie Underwood, Queen Latifah, Willie Nelson, John Mayer, Norah Jones, Faith Hill, Josh Groban, Aretha Franklin and Michael Bubl

Ok, so maybe we were a little “once bitten, twice shy” when we reported on comedienne Sarah Silverman ‘s nude debut in Take This Waltz yesterday. After all, if it’s not actually her naked body up there on the screen, why would she be so nervous about seeing it?: “I was completely watching [the movie] and having fun, and when the swimming pool scene was coming, I panicked,” Silverman told the press the morning after Take This Waltz ‘s Toronto Film Festival premiere. “Then, when it came, and I saw my full frontal, I had an actual heart attack — and I’m proud to have done it.” Score one for the true believers. Serena Williams U.S. Open Outburst Prompts Investigation

Serena Williams’ outburst in the women’s championship match was the talk of the U.S. Open Sunday, and the tennis star could dace further consequences yet. Williams was docked a point early in the second set against Samantha Stosur – who won 6-2, 6-3 – after shouting “Come on!!!” as encouragement to herself. That’s typically standard, but because she yelled before the point was over, she was penalized … and then LOST IT at the umpire for evoking the “hindrance rule.” Watch Williams’ U.S. Open outburst here: Serena Williams U.S. Open Outburst “If you ever see me walking down the hall, look the other way because you’re out of control,” Serena said. “You’re a hater and you’re unattractive inside.” It is worth noting that Williams, who infamously lost a match by virtue of a pair of code violations in her 2009 semifinal meltdown , did not use any profanity. Nevertheless, she ranted to the point where a referee will pass along the findings of the investigation to the Tournament Grand Slam Committee. That board will decide what discipline, if any, is appropriate. Fines are all but a given; Worst case is she could be banned from future tournaments. Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal play for the men’s title today at 4 p.m. UPDATE : Officials just fined Serena $2,000 for the outburst, deeming that “Williams’ conduct … does not rise to the level of a major offense.” Evidently not. Her runner-up prize? $1.4 million. So that’s that.

SpongeBob Study: Cartoon Hero May Cause Learning Disabilities!

SpongeBob SquarePants is in some hot water. The cartoon character is at the center of a study suggesting that watching just nine minutes of that program can cause attention and learning problems. The study took 60 four-year-olds and randomly assigned them to watch SpongeBob or the slower-paced PBS cartoon Caillou , or had them draw pictures. Right after the nine-minute assignments , the kids took mental function tests; those who had watched SpongeBob did measurably worse than the others. Should parents soak up this new study’s facts about SpongeBob? Previous research linked TV-watching with long-term attention problems, but the new study suggests problems can also occur after very little exposure. Kids’ cartoon shows typically feature about 22 minutes of action, so watching a full program “could be more detrimental,” the researchers speculated. The results should be interpreted cautiously because of the study’s small size, but the data bolster the idea that media exposure is a public health issue. Fortunately, no studies were done in which they had to watch Kim Kardashian and her siblings on Keeping Up . Talk about scarring the kiddos for life.

Demi Moore Topless Twit Pic: View Now!

Ummm… we guess this is hot. Demi Moore has Tweeted a picture of herself topless, but there’s a PG-rated catch: we can’t actually see the front of this actress, who included with the photo a caption that reads: “Remember…..you’ve got your own back.” Might this seemingly random act be a response to Ashton Kutcher’s first promotional photo for Two and a Half Men , for which he poses naked ? We’ll likely never know the answer. It’s not the first time Demi has Tweeted out a shot of her body, either. There was this bikini pic in September of last year, which, combined with the latest image makes us think Moore needs a new movie role ASAP. She has way too much time on her (admittedly attractive) hands.

Kate Gosselin WILL be back on TV. The reality star and perennial contender for Worst Person in America made this abundantly clear this morning, mere hours before Kate Plus 8 airs its last episode. Even Jon Gosselin has a clue these days and recently told Kate to get a life – as in a normal life – but she told Today ‘s Matt Lauer that her concerns lie elsewhere. Kate hilariously/depressingly expressed concern for her show’s “devastated” fans whom she says must feel like they are losing their next-door neighbor. While “there is some relief,” she said, “there is sadness, because it’s the end of an era.” An era where she must now worry about her children , she says. Regarding her ex-husband’s advice to scale back, Kate countered, “Jon may be accepting of mediocre for his kids … I only want the best for my kids.” More like for your ego, you grating banshee! As for how and when she plans to return to TV, she didn’t have a specific show in mind, saying “It would have to be the right one.” But rest assured: “I’m sure you will see my kids again at some point,” she said.
