Jada Pinkett-Smith And Kid Cudi Talk About How Mental Struggles Led To Drug Use It’s no secret that “Red Table Talk” is one of our favorite shows and we knew the Confronting Mental Illness episode featuring Kid Cudi would be one of the best ones. While both Jada Pinkett-Smith and Kid Cudi have opened up about some of their struggles in the past, this episode they really open up. At one point Jada admits she was doing ecstasy, weed and a bottle of Courvoisier because she was trying to get lit. She even admits she knew she might be headed for addiction having dealt with her mother’s issues with drugs. Cudi definitely seems to be a in a better place now. What did you think about the episode? When you’re going through things, how do you cope?
Source: Xavier Collin / Splash News Ever since Lady Gaga hit the scene ten years ago, Madonna has felt like the Mother Monster totally jocked her whole style. Madge reignited the beef on Monday after seeing a video of Gaga doing press for her latest film A Star Is Born , saying, “There can be 100 people in a room and 99 of them don’t believe in you, but all it takes is one and it just changes your whole life.” The Material girl took to IG and posted a video of herself saying something very similar in the ’80’s. “If there are 100 people in a room and 99 say they liked it, I only remember the one person who didn’t.” WOW — Madonna: “There's 100 people in a room…” pic.twitter.com/nBDt13kk79 — Jarett Wieselman (@JarettSays) December 2, 2018 Adding fuel to the mayo fire, Madonna posted a another pic with the caption, “Don’t F–k with Me Monday,” causing Gaga’s little monsters to go off in the comments. Is Gaga ‘single-white female’ -ing Madonna, or is Madge just hating?
Whether you love her or hate her, there’s no denying that Kailyn Lowry had one hell of a rough upbringing. Obviously, the most publicized aspect of Lowry’s adolescence was her teen pregnancy, which led her to seek solace and shelter with Jo Rivera’s family after being abandoned by her mother. In the years since, Lowry has described her mother as an alcoholic and stated that the two have them seldom have any contact. She’s been less vocal on the subject of her father, and it turns out there’s good reason for that. As she revealed in a recent tweet, Kail hasn’t seen her father since Thanksgiving of 2009. “The week of Thanksgiving 2009 was when I met my dad for the first time,” Kail tweeted yesterday. “And even though we haven’t met again. That was an important time in my life.” If you’ve been with the Teen Mom/16 and Pregnant franchise from the very beginning, then Kail’s revelation may not come as much of a surprise. As In Touch Weekly points out , Kailyn’s reunion with the man who impregnated her mother was captured by an MTV camera crew. “I met my sperm donor for the first and last time on 16 and Pregnant . I was 17-years-old and I never looked back. He doesn’t reach out and neither do I,” she stated in an interview earlier this year. “It gets lonely around holidays and I’m sad for my kids during those times…but I wouldn’t be where I am today if things were different.” So when Kail says the meeting with her father constituted an “important time” in her life, we assume she means that it solidified what she had long suspected: She would be forced to face the challenges of adulthood without any support from her parents. Lowry affirmed this sad reality in her most recent memoir: “I didn’t ever have an example of a mother or father when I was growing up,” she wrote in A Letter of Love . “Since I didn’t have a point of reference on how to love, I desperately want my boys to understand that I have tried to love them in the best way that I can.” These days, not only is Kail a loving and devoted mother, she’s also a wildly successful businesswoman who has launched and maintained a one-woman media empire worth millions. We think it’s safe to say she’s one apple who fell very far from the tree. View Slideshow: Kailyn Lowry Announces “Pothead” Haircare Line, Gets Shamed By Ignorant Trolls

Medioimages/Photodisc Students at a Jacksonville, Fla., high school say they’ve been banned from wearing “memorial attire”, clothes or jewelry honoring a deceased love one. Officials believe the commemorations are tied to “gang activity.” According to Ne ws4Jax , students at Robert E. Lee High School were reminded that they couldn’t wear anything with “RIP” on it. “It said we can’t wear them. Basically, no necklaces, none of that,” Lee High School senior Jarod Mills told the station about the announcement. “They don’t feel it’s appropriate for the school.” The school’s announcement comes on the heels of an incident at a county fair in which a black teen was kicked out for wearing a necklace with the image of his deceased mother. Yahoo News reports , four police officers escorted the teen and his friend out of the Jacksonville Fair on Nov. 3 after he refused to tuck in a necklace memorializing his mother. A spokeswoman claimed the dress policy was made at the behest of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office because “it’s associated with bad behavior.” From Yahoo News: Though the teen’s identity is not being revealed, [his mentor Amy Donofrio] confirmed that he is definitely not affiliated with gang activity. In fact, she says, he’s a member of the Evac Movement , a community Donofrio founded to bring together at-risk youth (she calls them “at-hope”) with the intention of “channeling painful personal tragedies into positive change.” And as such, the teens are empowered as youth leaders — a group even met with President Barack Obama during his tenure — and often participate in roundtable discussions with police. The teen in question, she tells Yahoo Lifestyle, “has a working relationship with the head of the gang unit” at JSO… One of the officers then approached the boys and asked one to pull up his pants, she says. He then turned to the teen in question and ordered him to tuck in the memorial necklace, which bears a photo of his mother. “He said, ‘Sir, I’m not going to tuck it in. It’s my mother and I have a legal right to wear it,” Donofrio says. She claims the ban on memorial gear was not part of any dress code policy she or the boys were aware of at the time, and that the policy that was later brought to her attention states those who wear memorial jewelry will be denied entry. The district reminded that punishment for violating dress code is not suspension and that the school always does what they can to help students stay in compliance, News 4 reports. Source: MARCO BERTORELLO / Getty Despite all of his success, Tekashi 6ix9ine , or Tekashi69 if you’re nasty, has been aligned with the struggle in epic ways. After firing his whole team and canceling a tour, agents for the “Fefe” rapper say they didn’t finesse him out of owed coins and say he lacks an understanding of how money works. The Blast reports : The “Gummo” rapper canceled his tour earlier this week and said he fired his whole team. He also went on “The Breakfast Club” and claimed that he was only getting a few hundred thousand dollars out of a pot of $3.5 million. 6ix9ine said when he refused to take the stage, he was threatened with possible harm being brought on his mother. We’re told the booking agents made it clear that nobody threatened Tekashi or his mother, and claim that all business done was above-board. As for the money, sources involved in the negotiations tell us Tekashi does not understand how fees and expenses work when organizing a nationwide tour. Our sources say the normal percentages were divided up for all the people working tirelessly to organize the tour, including managers, crew, equipment and LOTS of security. We’re told the cut Tekashi was to receive was “very standard.” Our source insisted one of the big issues with money was that Tekashi apparently has a hard time understanding numbers, even when it comes to counting his own stacks of cash. Well it looks like Tekashi either needs to get to studying economics or make sure he vets whoever gets hired next as to not run into a potential struggle in the future. — Photo: Getty
Source: Radio One Staff / Radio One Houston Man Found At IHOP With Mother After Escaping From Jail A mother in Georgia helped her son escape jail this week, then took him to celebrate the feat with some pancakes. But unfortunately for the tag team, her son wasn’t out of jail for long. Soon enough the mother and son duo were captured at the most popular pancake place of them all, the International House Of Pancakes (IHOP) . The Heard County Sheriff’s Office told local TV station WSBTV that 27-year-old Joshua Gullat slipped out of the jail while mopping floors and cleaning bathrooms on Monday night at around 11:30 p.m. Gullat’s mother, 54-year-old Kathy Pence, was reportedly waiting in a Black Cadillac Escalade to whisk him away from the jail. Investigators reportedly tracked Pence’s cellphone—apparently after she had earlier received directions from her son, via a phone call, about where to pick him up at the jail—which led them to an IHOP in Coweta County, Georgia. Heard County Sgt. Dan Boswell told WSBTV, “He said they were sitting at the table eating. He was sitting with two of his kids at the table. His mom, him and two of his children.” According to authorities, it only took about two hours to recapture Gullat. “With the good work between our dispatchers and the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office, this escape was resolved in a timely fashion,” Boswell said, according to the Newman Times-Herald. “We appreciate all their help.” Police said Gullat apologized for the escape but wouldn’t give up how he got to the restaurant alongside his mother. WGCL reported that Gullat had been serving a 24 to 36 month sentence on two charges of burglary, but of course, he’s now facing additional felony charges for the escape. His mother faces a felony charge as well for helping the escape.
For a woman who stars on a show called Teen Mom OG , Bristol Palin certainly isn't very sympathetic to the plight of unwed young mothers. Or at least that's the impression we get from her latest comments on the subject. As The Ashley's Reality Roundup points out , Bristol went on an Instagram rant this week, and she made what many feel are deeply insensitive comments about teen pregnancy. Some fans are even citing the remarks as proof that Bristol never should have been cast on the show in the first place. Take a look: 1. Bristol Under Fire Many Teen Mom OG fans were not thrilled when Bristol Palin was cast on the show, and they’re citing her latest comments as further evidence that she just doesn’t belong. 2. Blast From the Past Unlike Cheyenne Floyd, who also joined the cast this season, Bristol was an honest-to-goodness teen mom at one point. 3. The Palins She welcomed her first child in 2008 … the same year that her mother gained national fame as John McCain’s running mate. 4. Different Strokes Needless to say, Bristol’s upbringing was quite different from those of the other Teen Moms, most of whom grew up in relative poverty. 5. Check Your Privilege But despite the fact that her mother was once one of the most famous women in the country, Bristol says she didn’t grow up with a silver spoon in her mouth. 6. Cut off “People have this assumption that I haven’t struggled with finances but my parents cut me off lonnng long ago, like when I got knocked up 10+ years ago (which good parents should do),” Bristol wrote on Instagram this week. Source: LEON NEAL / Getty Saying that Twitter has some problems would be the understatement of the century. The platform has been under fire for a while, but even more so within the last 2 years due to the state of our country and y’all’s little president instilling confidence in people who might otherwise be more closeted with their hatred. But with so many people running around on the platform doing both hateful and harmful things, there are a lot of areas where Twitter could improve–but apparently, their CEO Jack Dorsey has some other plans on his agenda that he thinks are more important. At a recent Twitter event , Dorsey told a room full of employees and journalists that Twitter would be removing the heart-shaped Like button from the platform sometime “soon”. Twitter Communications confirmed a Like button rework was being considered as part of an ongoing effort to clean up the platform — with the aim of incentivizing “healthier conversations”. The tweet reads as follows: “As we’ve been saying for a while, we are rethinking everything about the service to ensure we are incentivizing healthy conversation, that includes the like button. We are in the early stages of the work and have no plans to share right now.” As we've been saying for a while, we are rethinking everything about the service to ensure we are incentivizing healthy conversation, that includes the like button. We are in the early stages of the work and have no plans to share right now. https://t.co/k5uPe5j4CW — Twitter Comms (@TwitterComms) October 29, 2018 Here’s a few reactions to that tweet, and the idea of removing the like button in general Twitter user @AManNamedNobody said, “Most people aren’t on here to debate anything….you’re thinking you’ll encourage healthy conversation by forcing people to talk instead of clicking LIKE. But not all of us want a conversation. A LIKE speaks volumes. ‘If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.’” Most people aren't on here to debate anything. I know what you're thinking, you're thinking you'll encourage healthy conversation by forcing people to talk instead of clicking LIKE. But not all of us want a conversation. A LIKE speaks volumes. “If it ain't broke, don't fix it.” — Johnny Nobody (@AManNamedNobody) October 30, 2018 Another user added, “If the like button is removed a useful tool for measuring interest in the content I provide…will be gone. @ twitter taking this step would be a bad move & folks will quit in frustration if it happens. Please listen to users and don’t do this.” If the like button is removed a useful tool for measuring interest in the content I provide to 48,000 followers on this platform will be gone. @twitter taking this step would be a bad move & folks will quit in frustration if it happens. Please listen to users and don't do this. — MR Humble (@Todd_Scheve) October 29, 2018 The like button actually started as a star-shaped ‘favorite’, or ‘fav’ button when the platform began. But in 2015, Twitter changed the Favorite button to a Like because, “You might like a lot of things, but not everything can be your favorite”. This was apparently an effort to help grow the platform, with the heart being a more, “universal symbol that resonates across languages, cultures, and time zones.” But according to Andrew Campbell, a researcher in the fields of e-mental health and cyberpsychology from the University of Sydney, Twitter’s biggest weakness has always been the heart saying, “it’s a strong emotion to say you love something.” This tweet from Josh Butler very well sums up a lot of people’s thoughts on Twitter and Jack’s need to constantly roll out and change things that aren’t really the problem: Users: hey can you get rid of the Nazis please Twitter: ok sure, we've changed the stars to hearts for likes Users: no no, zero Nazis please Twitter: yep we're getting rid of Vine Users: nah hey, what about the Nazis Twitter: ok ok fine, no more likes https://t.co/HKE0BrCiVU — Josh Butler (@JoshButler) October 29, 2018 What do you guys think about Twitter’s decision? Are you a lover of the like button, or can you do without it?
