Anne Hathaway is playing Fantine, some poor bitch in Les Miserables, who dies and leaves her Orphaned kid to fend for herself all motherless this mother day weekend…..like me…. Her daughter is the ever successful Amanda Seyfried who is everywhere playing Cosette and none of this French Revolution broadway musical shit matters…what matters is that being a poor dying hooker in the 19th century means Anne Hathaway, someone already not fat to begin with had to drop another 20 lbs, and I fucking love skinny girls….eating disorders, negative body images, 1% fat on their body, is fucking porn to me… Maybe cuz I married obese, maybe cuz I am obese, maybe cuz I know it is some inner torment, or maybe cuz i like pelvic bones and toned stomachs….who cares she’s in a bikini…and at her hottest right now…. Above the Buzz rounds up the best pop songs praising mom. By Jocelyn Vena Justin Bieber and his mother Patricia Mallette Photo: Rick Diamond/ Getty Images Mother’s Day is just around the bend — Sunday, to be exact. If you’re reading this and that’s news to you, you might want to order your mama some flowers and read on for some awesome mixtape song selections courtesy of Above the Buzz . Pop music has had a longstanding tradition of cranking out tunes that pay homage to the most important woman in everyone’s life: mommy dearest. How could you not look to mom for musical inspiration? She loves you unconditionally, pushes you to be your best, is an awesome shopping buddy and, at one point, let you make that terrible decision of rocking blond highlights back in high school when you really had no business being blonde. Basically, she’s your friend until the end. So, hit record on your boom box and collect these tunes to let mom know how much you love and appreciate her. (And, yes, I am writing this column from a random Mother’s Day in the ’90s when people still recorded mixtapes off boom boxes.) In 1999, the Backstreet Boys released a sappy ballad titled “The Perfect Fan.” With touches of gospel on the track, the sentiment thanking their moms for always being supportive reaches it crescendo when the fivesome declare, “I wanna thank you for what you’ve done/ In hopes I can give back to you/ And be the perfect son.” Writing a song about your mom, boys, is certainly a good start. Years before BSB dropped their mommy ode, Boyz II Men released “A Song for Mama” in 1997. In the deeply emotional ballad produced and written by Babyface, the guys praise their mamas for showing them the right thing to do. “You’re always there for me/ Have always been around for me, even when I was bad/ You showed me right from my wrong/ Yes, you did,” they sing. And, we swooned. That same year, the Spice Girls released “Mama.” Lyrically, it is a bit different from the tracks the boys released. The song is about the girls’ growing relationships with their moms, who went from their biggest enemy when they were teens to being their best friends as adults. The ladies sing, “Back then, I didn’t know why/ Why you were misunderstood/ So now I see through your eyes/ All that you did was love.” An equally touching ode from Christina Aguilera , “Oh Mother,” delves into a more serious topics than those other tracks. Released in 2006, the song reflects on her mother’s abusive relationship with her father. The song is incredibly personal, relaying some details about watching her mother get abused. But, in the end, she wants her mom to know this: “So mother, I thank you/ For all that you’ve done and still do/ You got me, I got you/ Together, we always pull through.” On the other side of the emotional mom rollercoaster is Taylor Swift ‘s “The Best Day,” which she dropped in 2008. The track is a mid-tempo jam about all the awesome things her mom does to make her feel better when she’s low and all the things her mom taught her. “I know you were on my side even when I was wrong/ And I love you for giving me your eyes/ For staying back and watching me shine/ And I didn’t know if you knew, so I’m takin’ this chance to say/ That I had the best day with you today,” she sings. You said it for all of us, girl! With a new Mother’s Day upon us, Justin Bieber is getting in on the action with his new track “Turn to You.” Given the tradition he’s following in, it’s a nice sentiment from a boy who truly loves his mom. And, there’s nothing more adorable than a pop star who knows where it’s at. Because we know where it’s at, we have this final message: Happy Mother’s Day, mom! All these songs say it all and so much more. You rock! Now, go tell your mom how you feel about her — she deserves it. What’s your favorite track showing love for mom? Share your pick below!

Kris Jenner was being honored by the Associates for Breast and Prostate Cancer Studies today in Los Angeles, and we took the chance to ask her about her Mother’s Day plans. Kris says she’ll be spending the day with family, and eating traditional Armenian food cooked by Kourtney Kardashian. Then we asked her what was the best Mother’s Day gift she ever got…her answer…Kourtney!! This got us curious, so we did a little checking. Kourtney was born in April of 1979, but Mother’s Day wasn’t until mid-May! Does this mean Kris is playing favorites?!
Gen Y super fan recalls stumbling upon Beastie Boys’ ‘So What’Cha Want’ and falling for ‘three men from New York who rapped and rocked.’ By Rya Backer Adam Yauch Photo: Bertrand Guay/ Getty Images On Friday (May 4), news broke that Adam “MCA” Yauch had died at age 47 and I found myself working on what is easily the most difficult piece I’ve ever had to write. Because it’s something I’ve never wanted nor intended to write. You see, the Beastie Boys are my favorite band of all time. I stumbled upon the “So What’Cha Want” video when I was very young and impressionable and maybe a little too mature for my age, and remained steadfastly obsessed with the three men from New York who rapped, rocked and sometimes just played their instruments. They were my band, and I related to them, perhaps at the most base level: We’re all New York City Jews who would’ve been described as “eccentric” growing up — Ad-Rock and I had even shared a history teacher, which was a really big deal to my 6th grade self. Needless to say, my devotion to them soon became a part of my identity. And while they’ve now been woven into the fabric of our country’s pop-cultural identity, to me, the Beastie Boys are also quintessentially the Great American Band. Yes, they helped bring hip-hop to the suburbs with their debut, Licensed to Ill, you’ve heard that part before. But their body of work was incomparable, often cited and never replicated. Moreover, they never broke up, even after more than 30 years together (their first gig was at Yauch’s 17th birthday), a rare feat for most any popular act. And their influence was absolutely singular. I’m certain I’m not the only one who loves Sonic Youth, Beck, Bad Brains or Tribe Called Quest because of the Beasties’ seal of approval. They were the cool, older brothers you didn’t have, serving as barometers of what was hip and why you should care. I guess what I’m trying to say is — like Yauch — I’m an only child, and I don’t know what kind of person I would’ve become if it weren’t for the Beastie Boys’ direction. I can say with confidence that I wouldn’t be here working at MTV News. “Charity” is an interesting word when it comes to the Beasties, and especially when it comes to Yauch, because he gave so much to others. (At one point, he expressed a desire to relinquish his royalties to the cause of a free Tibet.) I remember being devastated when my bat mitzvah fell on the exact date of the 1998 Tibetan Freedom Concert, where the trio was performing. Three years later, I was devastated for a very different reason, when our city was under attack. I attended the New Yorkers Against Violence concert with my mother, who wanted to finally see for herself just what it was about the Beastie Boys that was so vital to me. We posted up against the railing that separated us from the the VIP area, and while I rocked out to the likes of Rival Schools and Cibo Matto, my mother took to playing with an adorable baby who was being held by her mother in VIP. At one point, the baby’s father came out and my mother’s jaw dropped. She grabbed my wrist: It was MCA. In a moment that would be forever etched in my memory, I registered seeing him for the first time as a man with a family. My mother (as only a sweet Jewish mother could do) tapped him on the shoulder and assured him that his #1 fan was but inches away. I honestly don’t remember much of what I told him, except how incredibly grateful I was for his work … and I’m pretty sure I cried. I saw MCA again just last year at a screening of “Fight for Your Right Revisited.” He looked frail but, once again, he was there with his wife and daughter. He looked whole and happy in their company, and that’s all that mattered. When I first joined MTV News in January 2008, my only goal was to interview the Beastie Boys. Nearly four-and-a-half years later, I assisted in writing his obituary. Later, I’d even work on a live MTV tribute show dedicated to him, “Adam Yauch: Remembering a Beastie Boy.” I wish that wasn’t the case, but these things happen, right? So what can we learn from this? Yes, Cancer is a horrible disease capable of cutting through no matter what sort of lifestyle you’ve adopted. But I also hope we’ve learned that people need to be enjoyed and appreciated while they’re still here. I’ve made a point to listen to a Beastie Boys album every week, even when, let’s face it, it wasn’t that hip to like them. I particularly made sure, following his 2009 diagnosis , because I knew this day might come. You’re never ready for it but, like I said, these things happen. And I’m sure Yauch would assure us that this lesson applies to so much more beyond his band. When I first heard the news of Yauch’s passing, I cried a different set of tears. I was sad that a part of myself that I’d so long been connected to is gone and I can never get it back. I was sad that I didn’t see them that one last time at a 2008 fundraiser, and sad, too, that we’ll never hear anything else from a group that has already given us so much. Mostly though, I was sad because I know that Yauch’s daughter will never again have that moment of familial bliss between a daughter and her dad. Share your condolences for MCA’s family, friends and fans in the comments below. Phillip Don Oliver aka “Showtime” And “Wild Thing” Does Home Invasion Forcing Gun Up Rectum Of Man: Forcing Brains From Mother In Law In Front Of Wife, Putting Guns To Baby’s Heads, And More! [Video] This guy is gross: Police say Phillip Don Oliver, who’s also known as “Showtime” and “Wild Thing,” went to a northside apartment to collect $200,000 he thought the resident owed a man named “Rico.” How he went about trying to get it is the twisted stuff of a prn maker trying to out-Tarantino Tarantino. Don’t read any more if you’re easily grossed out. Court documents say Oliver forced the resident inside by threatening him with a gun. Eventually he collected the man’s wife and mother-in-law and forced them all to disrobe in the bathroom. There he made the man kneel down and stick his head in the toilet while he repeatedly flushed it. And then things really started to get weird. The victim said “‘Showtime’ inserted the barrel of a firearm (handgun) into his rectum as he knelt on the floor,” court documents say. He then “removed the barrel from the rectum area and inserted it into the mouth of [the victim’s] wife.” He was joking and laughing as he did all this, the victim says. Oliver then pointed his gun at the head of the couple’s infant daughter. He ordered the victim “to insert his p3nis into the mouth of his mother-in-law. [The victim said] he hesitated and initially refused, but was again ordered to do so and feared ‘Showtime’ would shoot his daughter.” The victim said he complied and “‘Showtime’ ordered [the mother-in-law] to perform sex on [the victim].” The victim insisted he had never heard of Rico or any $200,000 debt, and eventually Oliver and his accomplice, who had been guarding the front door, left. The police eventually tracked Oliver to his home in the Swiss Village apartments near Hempstead Road and arrested him. He faces charges of aggravated sexual assault and aggravated robbery. The report on this is seriously gross… so turn the page with discretion.
