Britney Spears’ Femme Fatale Twitter Trend Keeps Rolling

Title of pop star’s March 29 release is #10 longest-running trend on social-networking site. By Nuzhat Naoreen Britney Spears’ Femme Fatale Photo: Jive Britney Spears ‘ upcoming album, Femme Fatale, doesn’t hit shelves until March 29, but it’s already breaking records. The title, which has been trending worldwide on Twitter since Spears first announced it exactly a week ago, just nabbed the #10 spot on a list of the longest running Twitter trends gathered by Twend. It , a site that tracks topics on the social-networking site. “Can’t believe Femme Fatale has been trending 6 days. You guys are my motivation every single day. I love u all!” Spears wrote Tuesday on Twitter , where she has more than 6.8 million followers; she also included a link to the official announcement on her site . The top 10 list uses Twitter’s algorithms to tally the number of times a topic has trended since May 2010, when Twend. It was founded. “It’s culturally important,” said Nick DiFilippo, co-founder of Twend.it, who added that the popularity of entertainment topics on Twitter validates the notion that social-networking is an effective advertising tool that allows artists to reach their fans more directly. “They are finding a way to connect with their fanbase.” The ranking puts Spears in good company: Femme Fatale, the only music-related Twitter trend to break the top 10, joins “Inception,” which is holding strong at #1 after trending for a total of 39 days. “Inception” was one of 2010’s biggest box-office hits , grossing nearly $292 million domestically. Of course, success on Twitter doesn’t always lead to great sales. Other pop culture strongholds on the list include the movies “Last Airbender” at #9, and “Scott Pilgrim,” positioned at #5. Both films disappointed at the box office. Also noticeably absent from the list are Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga, both of whom were among the top five most-tweeted-about people in 2010. So while Bieber and Gaga each have strong followings on Twitter, Twend.it’s DiFilippo doesn’t think Spears is in danger of being pushed out of the top 10. In fact, he predicts Femme Fatale will quickly move up on the list. “The way these trends go is once they hit momentum it gets hard to stop them,” he said. “Something like an album releasing, especially by one of the biggest pop artists around, it’s going to have some momentum, so I do predict it’s going to go a bit higher. I could see it going up to the sixth, fifth place at least.” While the album doesn’t come out until next month, Britney fans have plenty to look forward to: The pop star has been tweeting daily teasers to her upcoming video for “Hold It Against Me,” which premieres on MTV on February 17 at 9:56 p.m. ET. A.J. McLean Promises Rehab Won’t Affect NKOTBSB Tour

‘None of this will affect our current tour plans,’ Backstreet Boy says of hitting the road in June. By Jocelyn Vena A.J. McLean Photo: Getty Images After confirming on Thursday (January 13) that he was entering rehab, reportedly for substance abuse issues, Backstreet Boy A.J. McLean assured fans that his treatment will not affect the band’s upcoming summer tour with the New Kids on the Block. McLean said in a statement, “For personal reasons, I’ve checked myself into a rehab clinic. With 2011 being a busy year for Backstreet, I want to be healthy and perform and sing for people at my very best and happiest. None of this will affect our current tour plans and I look forward to seeing everyone really soon!” He added, “Thank you for all of your support and respecting my family and friends privacy during this time.” NKOTBSB are set to hit the road beginning June 2 for a show at the Mohegan Sun in Connecticut. And the tour, as of now, is slated to run through July 30 in Hershey, Pennsylvania. McLean first hinted about his health issues this past Sunday in a few tweets . “Thank u all for my bday wishes and tweets:)! Its gonna be a great year! I love u all and wish me luck! I start my sober journey tomm! Ttfn!” he wrote on his Twitter page. A day later, he added, “Hey all wish me luck! This is gonna be an amazing year for me and all around me! I love u all and appreciate all the love and support” TMZ reported that sources close to the pop star say he has been “out of control” lately. According to those sources, McLean was under the influence during much of the Backstreet Boys’ cruise last month. He entered rehab, his third time in a decade, reportedly because his issues were affecting the planning stages of the NKOTBSB tour. Related Artists Backstreet Boys New Kids on the Block

Drake’s Next Act, Lil Wayne’s Return, More Hip-Hop Stories To Watch

Mixtape Daily gears up for post-prison music from T.I. and Mobb Deep’s Prodigy, along with more from Young Money/ Cash Money. By Jayson Rodriguez Lil Wayne Photo: Skip Bolen/ Getty Images Arrests and court cases dominated the hip-hop headlines last year, but with Lil Wayne free and a host of new stars ready to take the next step, 2011 should bring some better days . Drake is expected to drop Take Care, the follow-up to his debut, and the entire Young Money/ Cash Money crew has their sights set on world domination (can we also get a world tour?). There are still some MCs behind bars, but T.I. and Mobb Deep’s Prodigy will be out soon, and hopefully acts like Young Jeezy, 50 Cent and Nas can rebound from rap purgatory with projects worthy of their talents. Here, Mixtape Daily presents part two in our preview of stories to follow in the new year. Drake’s Second Date The breakout star of 2010 is working on the follow-up to his debut, Thank Me Later : the gentlemanly titled Take Care. He’s promised bigger records for his sophomore set, and so far, he’s been in the studio with Justin Timberlake and the Neptunes, among others, to prove his point. His much-hyped R&B mixtape, It’s Never Enough, is on hold at the moment as Drizzy takes his act international during his current jaunt across the Atlantic with J. Cole. When the pair of projects arrive, however, expect Drake-mania to ratchet up all over again. Freed MCs The past 12 months weren’t kind to T.I. After being released from a halfway house in March, the beloved Atlanta MC returned to work, but the reception to his solo material was tepid. He scored knockouts with his guest verses on Drake’s and Rick Ross’ albums, but by the time he released his retooled (and rushed) No Mercy LP, he was back behind bars after a parole violation . We’re hoping Tip rebounds like Blake Griffin when he completes his 11-month prison term. Mobb Deep’s Prodigy, meanwhile, is scheduled to finish his jail sentence this year as well. The New York MC was embarking on a rejuvenated solo career when he was arrested on gun-possession charges. We’ll be saluting him when he touches back down. Rebounding Rappers Without a doubt, Young Jeezy is one of the best out, but the trap star has had a harder time than usual getting his latest album, the long-delayed Thug Motivation 103, out the gate due to the slow response to his single choices. Likewise, a motivated 50 Cent, who has been busy milking millions of dollars out of Hollywood lately, is set to come back with a new album, the follow-up to Before I Self-Destruct, the superstar’s first LP to fall short of the platinum-selling mark. Fellow Queens native Nas may have expanded his fanbase with his collaborative effort with Damian Marley, but fans are looking for the Distant Relatives MC to return to Nasty Nas form on his forthcoming effort, due later this year. Weezy’s World There’s Lil Wayne’s next album, and then there’s everybody else’s projects. Apologies to Jay-Z and Kanye West, but even their royal collaborative LP, Watch the Thrown, has to bow down to Tha Carter IV as the most-anticipated hip-hop album of the year. The frenetic MC was behind bars for 10 months in 2010 and has kept a low profile since he was released in November. Weezy’s rollicking “6 Foot 7 Foot” is a sign of things to come. Excuse his charisma, but we’re rocking with the Cash Money King in 2011. Young Money/ Cash Money Takeover Nicki Minaj is still in full promotional mode for Pink Friday, with videos on the way for her Drake-assisted “Moment 4 Life” and “Fly” featuring Rihanna. Then there’s Drizzy’s pair of projects, his R&B mixtape and Take Care. Lil Wayne is back (!!!) and putting the final touches on Tha Carter IV. The next generation of YM heavy hitters are on deck: Tyga, Lil Twist and Cory Gunz are all expected to drop their debuts albums. New Cash Money acquisition DJ Khaled is also readying his first project for the house that Baby and Slim built. Then there’s the rumored YMCMB tour that would place the revamped crew alongside Bad Boy, Death Row, No Limit, Rough Ryders and Roc-A-Fella as one of the premiere collectives in hip-hop history. Mixtape Daily will be back on the daily grind beginning Tuesday, January 18, with our first Main Pick of the new year, Rick Ross’ Ashes to Ashes. Moral Decay Within the Pentagon the Cause of Leaks Revealed by Wikileaks

Corporate corruption of the defense industry is at the heart of the motivation that leads insiders to leak information to Wikileaks. Honest everyday people that work for the government and its myriad of private contractors in the capitalist world are morally repulsed by the information that they are being charged with keeping secret represent to their sense of honoring their other sense for justice and truth. They cannot help themselves but reveal the corruption because it is morally repugnant to them. +++ The leak may have come from the State Department itself The controversy and the caliber of the information have led some political analysts to the conclusion that it could only have leaked from the State Department itself, which puts its efficiency under question. Vitaly Leibin, the chief editor of Russian Reporter, a magazine which claims to officially collaborate with WikiLeaks, also believes that the leaks are the result of people inside the US government wanting the information exposed. “These leaks would never have happened if not for the number of insiders who are ready to leak this information. It looks like it’s linked to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan when officers understood that they are working for a not exactly fair business, and this moral decay inside the Pentagon caused these leaks,” he said. “The main thing this leak has done is break the illusion that the State department has everything under control. There have been exposed mechanisms – not secret, but quite simple and cynical. Partners of the US will be more careful now. It’s another sign that the US is no longer dominating the world,” he added. What the WikiLeaks incident shows is how the whole intelligence community has become over-reliant on technology, said former intelligence officer Glenmore Trenear-Harvey. He pointed out the inherent problems with the Secret Internet Protocol, a system of networks used by the US Defense and State Departments to transmit classified information that is one of the alleged sources of the leak. “The idea was for an exchange of information after 9/11, when the intelligent services weren’t sharing their information together,” he said. “Now what has happened is that whereas maybe 40,000 people within the intelligence community would have access, suddenly, bizarrely, diplomats, military people and, indeed, intelligence people – there’s over 2 million people that had access to it.” +++ Now that these revelations are making governments reconsider their security I would venture to say that this is going to lead to an extended cyberwar along with resistance from states to support some of the security measures that will likely be proposed by US lawmakers. added by: jubal

Hackers have waged war on banks that target WikiLeaks

Yesterday we reported that the Swiss bank PostFinance froze WikiLeaks account which held 31,000 euros for Julian Assange's defense fund. A few hours later the bank's website crashed as a result of an attack by hackers that go by the name of Anon_Operation on Twitter. They have been running “Operation: Payback” which they say is an ongoing campaign by [them] against major anti-piracy groups. The cyber war is now definitely on as PostFinance is back up an running but the hackers' site The AnonOps.net is currently down due to heavy DDoS attacks.

Tony Parker on Erin Barry "Affair": Sexting Only!

Two new revelations in the week’s top celebrity scandal: The Eva Longoria-Tony Parker divorce was in the works at least a week before Eva filed, contrary to the story some people in her camp have spread. Tony denies having sex with Erin Barry . SEXTING: A portmanteau of sex and texting, first popularized circa 2005; The act of exchanging sexually explicit messages or photos between mobile phones. Tony admits a “sexting relationship” with Erin, the estranged wife of his former Spurs teammate Brent Barry, but nothing more, and says even that ended months ago. Parker sources insist, “They never had a physical relationship.” As for Eva’s ” revenge filing ” that supposedly blindsided Tony, new reports suggest that’s not true, and that he was aware she would file the papers in Los Angeles. As for her motivation in doing so, that’s still up for debate . Not only was the Eva Longoria-Tony Parker divorce a foregone conclusion, but it was timed to coincide with the Us Weekly cover story about it. Just bizarre. As for why Tony and Eva are telling different stories about the divorce, a close friend of Tony’s puts it simply: “She was into the whole PR thing. He wasn’t.” Eva’s people say Tony’s story is untrue … with one source saying they “were still talking about working out the marriage up until the morning she filed.” The long and short of it: Who was planning what and when depend on who you ask, as does whether Tony put it to Erin Barry. But it’s definitely over.

Raquel Welch is a 70 Year Old I Want to Fuck of the Day

I haven’t fucked someone over 70 in a long time….It was back when I worked at the old folks home and I wouldn’t really call it sex because the bitch was medicated, half asleep with a serious case of senility that made her forget who she was, which was the motivation behind choosing her, in an out of sight out of mind kinda thing that even if she woke up she’d have no idea what happened 3 minutes later and really it was a service to her cuz I knew she hadn’t fucked in a long time… The nice thing about that romantic experience was that I thought I’d need lube, but really the walls of her vagina were so parted, that I popped rigt in….The horrible thing was seeing what I saw everytime I opened my eyes, cuz old lady ass is not something that should be undressed… Unless of course it’s Raquel Welch, cuz she’s 70 and I’m in fucking love. I generally don’t like that plastic surgery, plastic emotionless face that makes bitches mainly in LA look like fucking aliens, but something was done right…she’s so good that I wouldn’t have to close my eyes and remember her 1960s stupid tits…I’d be happy with what was on my plate in front of me. Seriously….I could jerk off to these pics and she’s not doing anything in them…except for being a hot 70 year old..and for some reason her being 70….and reflecting on all that pussy has seen…and all the wisdom it garnered from its experiences is better than porn to me….
