27 New Zealand Miners Feared Trapped Underground After Explosion

New Zealand miners feared trapped underground by suspected gas blast No deaths reported but there are fears the air supply could be running out msnbc.com staff and news service reports updated 6 minutes ago 2010-11-19T10:59:32 WELLINGTON, New Zealand — Rescue teams were searching for 27 people feared trapped after an explosion ripped through New Zealand's largest coal mine Friday, its operating company said. Five miners stumbled to the surface, including one who was blown off his vehicle by the blast while working at about 5,000 feet into the mine. Police said the electricity in the mine went out shortly before the blast and this may have caused ventilation problems. Police spokeswoman Barbara Dunn stressed it was too early to say why the explosion occurred, but one mine safety expert said a gas explosion was a possible cause. The new mine, which only began shipping coal this year, is dug into the side of a mountain range in a remote area near the town of Atarau in the country's rugged South Island, burrowing into a deposit that, according to one recent visitor, was relatively gaseous. Rescue teams and emergency workers rushed by helicopter and by road to the mine, but had not entered because of the potential danger of any gas build-up. 'Not good news at all' “It's not good news at all,” Tony Kokshoorn, the mayor of nearby Greymouth, told National Radio. “We don't know at what depth the explosion is but there's certainly a big explosion. With a bit of luck, things might be OK.” New Zealand's Prime Minister John Key said the government would do whatever it could, according to the New Zealand Herald. “Our hearts and thoughts go out to them [affected families] at this time. It will be a very worrying time for them,” he said, the newspaper reported. “It has the potential to be a very serious situation.” The Herald said relatives of the missing miners had started to gather outside the site, in scenes reminiscent of the recent Chilean mining accident, which ended with the rescue of 33 trapped men after weeks underground. The Atarau mine's operator, Pike River Coal, initially said the number could be around 30, but chief executive Peter Whittall later amended that, saying 27 people were missing — 15 miners employed by the company and 12 local contractors. Energy Minister Gerry Brownlee said the explosion happened at about 3:45 p.m. (9:45 p.m. ET)and the last contact with any of the miners was about half an hour later. Brownlee said emergency exit tunnels were built into the mine but that he didn't know if they could be accessed by the miners. Whittall said two miners, including the machine operator who was blown off his vehicle, had walked out at first and three more emerged later. One of the men had been able to make a call on his cell phone before reaching the surface, he said. Whittall said he was not aware of any deaths caused by the blast. “Whether they (the miners) are trapped or choosing to stay underground and shelter from whatever the extent of the incident is, we don't know at this stage,” Whittall told Television 3. He told the New Zealand Herald that the miners were up to 1.5 miles into the mine, but could actually only be about 120 feet below the surface because it drills into the side of the mountain. The coal seam is more than 600 feet underground. One vertical ventilation shaft rises 354 feet from the tunnel to the surface, according to the company's website. This was blocked by falling rocks within the shaft in early 2009, delaying mining for months. Whittall said the horizontal mine tunnel would make the rescue effort easier than if the shaft was at a steep angle. “We're not a deep-shafted mine so men and rescue teams can get in and out quite effectively, and they'll be able to explore the mine quite quickly,” he said. “They will work throughout the night and they'll work until they can go right throughout the mine and determine the extent of the incident and the safety of our employees.” He said the men were trained to go to a place of safety and wait after an incident, he told the Herald. “Every worker carried a safety rescue device at all times including a breathing apparatus with oxygen,” Whittall told the paper. “I personally know every employee of the company … I know what the shift is and who the men are on that shift, and I'm still waiting to get a full list of the employees involved,” Whittall added. Air supply affected? The men who came to the surface were taken to a hospital for treatment of light injuries. “They're being interviewed and we're trying to determine … the full nature of the incident,” Whittall said. It was not immediately clear if all of those underground were together or in separate groups. “There is concern that ventilation inside the mine shaft may be compromised by the power outage,” Dunn, the police spokeswoman, said. Mine safety expert David Feickert said the blast could have been a gas explosion. “There are different kinds of explosions that can occur in a coal mine — methane gas, coal gas and so on,” he said. “If rescue teams can go in, that's good news indeed.” The Greymouth district's deputy mayor, Doug Truman, told Reuters by phone he had visited the mine and understood the coal deposit to be gaseous, but he stressed the safety standards there were very high and the workers highly trained. “It's a very high-quality coal but it's gaseous — but they know that,” Truman said. Rescue crews were assembling at the opening of the mine but had not yet entered. Dunn said the rescuers had to make sure it was safe before entering the mine, the New Zealand Herald reported. “They're itching to get in there and start looking for other people and a bit frustrated at having to stand and wait,” Ms Dunn said. St. John Ambulance service said three rescue helicopters and six ambulances had headed to the mine. Pike River has been operating since 2008, mining a seam with 58.5 million tons of coal, the largest-known deposit of hard coking coal in New Zealand, according to its website. Pike River says its coal preparation plant at the site is the largest and most modern in New Zealand and processes up to 1.5 million tons of raw coal a year. The mine is not far from the site of one of New Zealand's worst mining disasters — an underground explosion in the state-owned Strongman Mine on Jan. 19, 1967, that killed 19 workers. The Associated Press and Reuters contributed to this report. added by: EthicalVegan

NASA Satellites Reveal Connection Between Mountain Pine Beetle Infestation and Wild Fires (Video)

Photo via Eggs&Beer Mountain pine beetles have been a problem for many years , especially the last decade. Warming temperatures have helped the destructive insect move into new territories. Their booming numbers and rapid spread have meant death for large patches of forests. Now NASA satellites have been able to detest these masses of forests killed off by the beetles and researchers have looked at how the damage done by the beetles is linked to forest fires — or as N… Read the full story on TreeHugger

New Evidence Of Controlled Demolition On 9/11

(There are several videos click the link above to see them all) The International Center for 9/11 Studies has secured the release of hundreds of hours of video footage and tens of thousands of photographs used by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) for its investigation of the collapse of the World Trade Center Twin Towers and Building 7. This material is being released to the Center under the Freedom of Information Act, in response to a lawsuit the Center filed against NIST. The Center filed a FOIA Request with NIST on January 26, 2009, seeking production of “all of the photographs and videos collected, reviewed, cited or in any other way used by NIST during its investigation of the World Trade Center building collapses.” Following several unsuccessful attempts to get NIST to even acknowledge receipt of the Request, the Center was forced to file a lawsuit on May 28, 2009. Shortly after the lawsuit was filed, the Request was assigned a reference number, and NIST began periodically releasing batches of responsive records. To date, the Center has received over 300 DVDs and several external hard disk drives that contain responsive records – more than 3 terabytes of data so far – and NIST has indicated that additional records will be released in the future. We are currently looking at the best ways to distribute these materials to interested researchers and journalists around the world. It has taken NIST more than 8 months so far to produce a partial archive of photographs and videos in their possession, but we hope to be more efficient in our efforts. Because of the huge volume of data, we are working on a wiki-style website to facilitate review and discussion of any interesting items that are discovered by researchers. Justin Keogh, our Chief Technical Officer, is preparing the website and materials for release. The first batch of materials we are releasing is a group of video clips sent to us on an external hard disk drive labeled “NIST WTC Investigation Cumulus Video Clips.” We believe NIST entered these clips into a searchable database called the Cumulus database, and used them as the basis for the investigation and reports. Researchers may be interested to see which video clips NIST determined were important to its investigation, and compare these clips to the raw footage we release at a later date. Justin will be posting more details about the data release in the next week or two. Any questions about the FOIA Request, lawsuit, or data release should be submitted via the Contact Us page at the Center’s website: http://www.ic911studies.org/Contact_Us.html Although the Center has extremely limited resources with which it can review this mountain of data, several interesting items have already been discovered. Below are five items the Center has uncovered so far. The items below have not been altered from the original provided by NIST, except in three cases where a short section of footage was extracted from a much longer video. Otherwise, no alterations have been made to the video or audio. For the best viewing experience, you should watch all of the videos below in the highest resolution available. We will supplement the list below in the coming days and weeks. 1. Video Footage of Explosion Before Collapse In the video below, at about the 0:59 mark, a high-pressure explosion occurs in one of the Twin Towers, below the impact zone, while the building is still standing. In the final report on the collapse of the Twin Towers issued by NIST, it appears to attempt an explanation for this explosion by suggesting it is a smoke puff resulting from a pressure pulse inside the building, perhaps from a collapsing wall or ceiling, or sudden opening of a door. (See NCSTAR1-5A, p. 52) However, as can be seen from the screen capture below, it isn’t merely smoke and dust being ejected. There appears to be a massive object being ejected along with the explosion. 2. Audio Evidence of Explosions During Collapse Several videos released to the Center have clear audio tracks that contain distinct sounds of explosions occurring at the World Trade Center. These audio tracks provide support to the many eyewitness statements referring to explosions occurring when the buildings collapsed. Explosions can be heard at the initiation of the South Tower collapse in the following two videos. The explosions are clear enough at normal volumes, but turning your speaker volume up a bit can help provide a full appreciation of the sound. added by: im1mjrpain

Selena Gomez Releases New Album Track Listing

Katy Perry is featured on song from A Year Without Rain, due September 21. By Jocelyn Vena Selena Gomez Photo: Jean Baptiste Lacroix/WireImage Selena Gomez is amping her fans up for the release of her next album. On Monday she took to Facebook to share with fans the complete official track listing for her upcoming album A Year Without Rain, due September 21. “Hey Everyone– I wanted to share with you the official tracks off my upcoming album ‘A Year Without Rain’ as well as the bonus features on the deluxe album. I can’t wait for you all to hear the album,” Gomez wrote. The 10 songs on the new album are: current single “Round & Round,” title track “A Year Without Rain,” “Rock God,” “Off the Chain,” “Summer’s Not Hot,” “Intuition,” “Spotlight,” “Ghost of You,” “Sick of You” and “Live Like There’s No Tomorrow.” The deluxe version of the album will include two remixes of “A Year Without Rain,” as well as a remix of “Round & Round.” While Gomez didn’t let on about any previously reported collaborations in her Facebook message, earlier this month some websites reported that “Off the Chain” features Miley Cyrus and “Rock God” features Katy Perry . There were also murmurings of a Demi Lovato duet, “The Begging of the Road,” but that song didn’t make it to the official list. Fans may have to wait to see if Cyrus’ vocals ended up on “Off the Chain,” however, Gomez has said that Perry contributed to her album. “Katy Perry gave me a song, and she did background vocals on it,” she said. “The whole experience was really fun.” As for some of the announced songs, Gomez recently spoke to MTV News about the album and gave some insight into what people can expect. “[‘A Year Without Rain’ is] basically one of my favorite songs on the record. It’s kind of got a more feel-good dance beat and feel. I love it. It’s different; [it] kind of shows my growth of my music,” she said. “There’s a song called ‘Intuition’ that’s one of my favorites. The message is basically every decision that you regret or second-guess, [just] do it [anyway]. I love that message so much.” Are you looking forward to Selena Gomez’s new album? Joaquin Phoenix’s ‘I’m Still Here’ Teaser Trailer Debuts

One-minute clip shows disheveled actor’s hip-hop career. By Gil Kaufman Joaquin Phoenix in the “I’m Still Here” teaser trailer Photo: Magnolia Pictures After a year of bizarre talk show appearances , club dates that ended in stage falls and audience brawls , rumors of a retirement from moviemaking and a co-sign from Diddy , the first trailer for the long-rumored Joaquin Phoenix film “I’m Sill Here; The Lost Year of Joaquin Phoenix” surfaced online on Monday (August 16). While it’s still unclear if the movie, directed by Phoenix’s brother-in-law Casey Affleck, is a straight chronicle of the Oscar-winning actor’s foray into the world of hip-hop or a “This Is Spinal Tap”-like send-up of same, fans looking for clues in the one-minute trailer will likely be confounded all over again. The clip begins with a quick glimpse of a narrator, shot from behind (he appears to be actor Edward James Olmos), pointing to water droplets on a black table. He tells an intense-looking Phoenix, bearded and wearing a grey wool hat, “that’s you, drops of water, and you’re on top of the mountain, a success, but one day you start sliding down the mountain and you think, ‘wait a minute, I’m a mountaintop water drop, I don’t belong in this valley. This river, this low dark ocean with all these drops of water.’ ” As the voiceover continues, a succession of quickly cut images unfolds: Phoenix facing a phalanx of flash-wielding photographers at a movie premiere; Phoenix rapping on stage; Phoenix gazing longingly out of the window of a limousine while wearing dark shades, then hiding his head under a jacket in the same car; and Phoenix getting fitted for a black suit, then sitting, with his arms crossed defiantly, for a photo shoot. The ominous voiceover — accompanied by a spare, haunting keyboard drone — continues as we see Phoenix making his way past photogs on his way into the David Letterman studios. He poses uncomfortably for the shooters at a premiere for his “final” movie, “Two Lovers,” and holds his head in seeming frustration while pacing around a hotel room. “Then one day it gets hot and you slowly evaporate into air, way up, higher than any mountaintop, all the way to the heavens,” the unseen voice continues over a quick montage that shows Phoenix in a recording studio, walking unsteadily down a hotel corridor, boarding a private jet and hugging Diddy. The actor’s name flashes on the screen as we see him laughing manically while belted into the backseat of a car, attending a swanky Hollywood party, looking pensively into the distance as his distended belly juts out, diving off a club stage to confront a heckler, wrestling in a hotel room with another man, being escorted by his handlers from a venue and laying his verses on another rapper backstage while pumping his fist and wearing a hoodie. “Then you understand that it was at your lowest that you were closest to God. Life’s a journey that goes round and round and the end is closest to the beginning. So it’s change you need. Relish the journey,” the narrator says over images of Phoenix in church and staring into space just before taking the stage. The movie is slated to hit theaters on September 10 . Eamonn Bowles, president of its distributor Magnolia Pictures, said, “No matter what I thought coming in, I came out feeling this was a pretty amazing piece of work, jaw-dropping but dimensional. “It is going to get a lot of attention, but it is not some cheap stunt where they said, ‘Let’s do some wild stuff and film it,’ ” he explained. “It is extreme behavior, but really good filmmaking as well. Frankly, some of the behavior is very extreme. But it is in the context of the insanity of being in Joaquin’s life for that period of time. It is a unique piece of work that is going to surprise people in different ways.” Are you excited to see “I’m Still Here?” Let us know in the comment section below.

Churchgoers, strippers protest one another in Coshocton County

Of ire and brimstone Monday, August 9, 2010 02:54 AM By Holly Zachariah THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH WARSAW, Ohio — Strip-club owner Tommy George rolled up to the church in his grabber-orange Dodge Challenger, drinking a Mountain Dew at 9 in the morning and smoking a cigarette he had just rolled himself. Pastor Bill Dunfee stepped out of a tan Nissan Murano, clutching a Bible in one hand and his sermon in the other, a touch of spray holding his perfectly coiffed 'do in place. Inside the New Beginnings Ministries church, Dunfee's worshippers wore polyester and pearls. Outside, George's strippers wore bikinis and belly rings. Both men agree it is classic sinners vs. saints. But George says it is up to America to decide which is which and who is who. Dunfee says God already has chosen. “Tom George is a parasite, a man without judgment,” Dunfee said. “The word of Jesus Christ says you cannot share territory with the devil.” The battle that has heretofore played out in the parking lot of George's strip club – the Foxhole, a run-down, garage-like building at a Coshocton County crossroads called Newcastle – has shifted 7 miles east to Church Street. Every weekend for the last four years, Dunfee and members of his ministry have stood watch over George's joint, taking up residence in the right of way with signs, video cameras and bullhorns in hand. They videotape customers' license plates and post them online, and they try to save the souls of anyone who comes and goes. Now, the dancers have turned the tables, so to speak. Fed up with the tactics of Dunfee and his flock, they say they have finally accepted his constant invitation to come to church. It's just that they've come wearing see-through shorts and toting Super Soakers. They bring lawn chairs and – yesterday, anyway – grilled hamburgers, Monster energy drinks and corn on the cob. They sat in front of the church and waved at passing cars but largely ignored the congregation behind them. Likewise, the churchgoers largely ignored the dancers. Except for Stan Braxton. He stopped and held hands with Lola, a 42-year-old dancer who made $200 on her Saturday night shift, and prayed for her salvation. Lola, who wouldn't give her last name, said she was grateful for Braxton's prayers and his time. The women don't come here, after all, without their own version of religion. They bring signs with Scriptures written in neon colors: Matthew 7:15: Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep's clothing Revelations 22:11: He that is unjust, let him be unjust still Greg Flaig is executive director of the Ohio Owners Coalition, a group of showbar and club owners. He called the women's protest extraordinary, saying he's never heard of anything like it in the country. George said the protest has been a long time coming. He sued the church in federal court several years ago, claiming a violation of his constitutional rights, but he lost. Now, he said, turnabout is fair play. “When these morons go away, we'll go away,” George said. “The great thing about this country is that everyone has a right to believe what they want.” He said his club operates within the law. Dunfee said it does not, that it must close at midnight instead of its regular 2 or 3 a.m. Coshocton County Prosecutor Bob Batchelor said Friday only that he, the sheriff and the city prosecutor are “aware of the situation.” Gina Hughes spent the morning soaking up the sun in her striped bikini, mostly oblivious to the fire and brimstone being preached in the tidy church building. The 30-year-old married mother of six said she has danced at the Foxhole for a decade and holds the title of “house mom.” That means that even though she still dances, she also watches out for the six other women who work there. She said she makes $2,000 a week. “These church people say horrible things about us,” Hughes said. “They say we're homewreckers and whores. The fact of the matter is, we're working to keep our own homes together, to give our kids what they need.” Dunfee said it's not that simple. He said he consistently offers the women help, a chance at redemption. “I tell them, 'I will put a roof over your heads, and your bills will be paid, and your children's bellies will be full,'” he said. Yet they don't come inside. The first few weeks, Dunfee piped the sermon outside. But that “agitated” them, he said, and made them dance in the streets. He said their presence has united his church members and reinvigorated their mission to shut down the club. “They have now seen the evil firsthand,” Dunfee said. “This has just made us stronger.” George laughed at that notion. “They're just mad,” he said, “because their wives won't let them come to my club.” hzachariah@dispatch.com added by: putdownmypants

Travie McCoy Joins Rihanna, Ke$ha On Last Girl Tour

Gym Class Heroes frontman hits the road with the ladies for tour kicking off July 2. By Mawuse Ziegbe Travie McCoy Gym Class Heroes’ Travie McCoy will hit the road with pop princesses Rihanna and Ke$ha on this summer’s Last Girl on Earth Tour , which kicks off on July 2 in Auburn, Washington. The tour will crisscross the U.S. and Canada and wrap up on August 28 in Syracuse, New York. McCoy’s addition to the lineup comes after the tour was originally announced in April as a girl-power outing, with Young Money’s Nicki Minaj as one of the openers. Minaj later dropped out of the tour , saying she was going to focus on wrapping up her debut instead. “Barbz I’m sorry 2 say I will not be going out on RiRi’s tour. I’ve decided 2 use that time 4 the completion of my album. Hope u understand,” the star tweeted just days after the tour was announced. McCoy will rock stages this summer in support of his solo debut, Lazarus, which features the single “Billionaire” with Bruno Mars . The hip-rock star — who goes by Travie instead of Travis for his solo work — premiered the video for his new single “The Manual” featuring T-Pain and Young Cash online on Friday. Travie recently told MTV’s Buzzworthy that the solo effort is just one of the many side projects he tinkers with while still being a part of the Gym Class Heroes. “Since the beginning of Gym Class Heroes, we’ve all kind of had side projects,” he said. “This is just an extension of that.” Last Girl on Earth tour dates with Rihanna and Ke$ha according to McCoy’s label:

Government hacker betrays Wikileaks video source

Pictured: Hacker Adrian Lamo (Credit: Matthew Griffiths) http://news.cnet.com/8301-27080_3-20007024-245.html?tag=TOCmoreStories.0 A well-known hacker says he tipped authorities off to a man who confided in him about leaking a video of a U.S. military helicopter gunning down journalists and civilians in Iraq in 2007. Other information allegedly being leaked could compromise U.S. foreign policy and lead to deaths, the hacker said. “I turned him in to protect lives and to protect information that's essential for the U.S. to be able to effectively carry out foreign policy abroad,” Adrian Lamo, once busted for breaking into computer networks of high-profile companies, told CNET in a phone interview on Monday. “He was not at all being mindful about what he was leaking. He was basically acting as a vacuum cleaner.” U.S. Army intelligence analyst Bradley Manning was arrested nearly two weeks ago from a military base near Baghdad after Lamo shared e-mails and instant-message conversations he had had with Manning. Manning, 22, of Potomac, Md., deployed with the 2nd Brigade 10th Mountain Division in Baghdad, was placed in pretrial confinement for allegedly releasing classified information. He is currently confined in Kuwait, the Pentagon said in a statement Monday. In addition to the airstrike shooting video, Manning told Lamo he had leaked video footage showing a 2009 air strike in Afghanistan that killed nearly 200 civilians, including many children; a classified Army document assessing Wikileaks as a security threat; and 260,000 classified U.S. diplomatic cables showing what Manning said were “almost criminal political back dealings,” according to Wired. “If it was just the video, I would have left the issue alone, and frankly, he would have had my kudos–and he still does,” Lamo said. “But it wasn't just the video. It was a lot of information that was unrelated to our activities in Iraq and Afghanistan or the war on terror at all, including information about some of our major trading partners.” Asked to elaborate, Lamo said he couldn't say more, except that the sensitive information had to do with code words and that it was “top-secret sensitive, compartmentalized information.” The Iraq helicopter video, released on Wikileaks in April under the title “Collateral Murder,” generated an outpouring of antimilitary sentiment because the shootings appeared to be unjustified and because of the apparent lack of compassion displayed by the unidentified soldiers involved. The video showed the Apache helicopter shooting at a group of people on the street and a van that pulled up to rescue the injured, wounding several children and killing two Reuters journalists and other unarmed Iraqi civilians. “Look at those dead bastards,” one pilot is heard saying. “Nice,” someone else replies. Laughter is heard, as a tank on the ground appears to drive over a dead body. A perfect storm Lamo, previously dubbed the “homeless hacker,” knows what it's like to be on the wrong side of the law. Sleeping in bus terminals and abandoned buildings, Lamo would use public Internet connections to break into corporate networks and Web sites. He answered customer support e-mails at Excite@Home, told WorldCom how to fix its security to prevent intrusions like his, modified news articles on Yahoo, and used Lexis-Nexis to search for owners of undercover police cars. While some companies thanked Lamo for pointing out their lax security, others complained, and an arrest warrant was issued in 2003. Lamo spent a few days in hiding before turning himself in and pleading guilty to unauthorized network access at The New York Times, Lexis-Nexis, and Microsoft. He was sentenced to six months of home arrest and 24 months probation, and ordered to pay about $60,000 in fines. After that, he studied journalism and has been working as a threat analyst. “I've been 22. I've been in shackles and led by guards before a judge to determine my fate. I've been where he is,” Lamo said of Manning. “I know it can be terrifying, and I wish to God it hadn't been me that had to do it.” Lamo said he thinks Manning contacted him after reading a Wired article last month about Lamo being diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome, after a stint in the hospital for depression. “He was lonely and wanted somebody to reach out to,” Lamo said. “It's the most painful part of it–the fact that he had such a simple and pure intent, and it had to be me.” It's unclear exactly what Manning's motivation was in the alleged whistle-blowing, but a glimpse can be seen in one of his messages to Lamo: “If you had unprecedented access to classified networks 14 hours a day, 7 days a week, for 8-plus months, what would you do?” Even though Manning was required to use secured laptops to access the classified networks the information was on–SIPRNET, the Secret Internet Protocol Router Network, used by the Defense Department and the State Department to transfer classified data, and the Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System–and they were not connected to the Internet, it was still relatively easy for him to smuggle the information out, he told Lamo. For example, Manning would bring a rewritable CD to work labeled as music, erase the music, and store classified data on it by compressing it and splitting it into smaller files. I “listened and lip-synced to Lady Gaga's 'Telephone' while exfiltrating possibly the largest data spillage in American history,” he told Lamo. “Weak servers, weak logging, weak physical security, weak counterintelligence, inattentive signal analysis…a perfect storm.” Like many others, Lamo applauded the release of the 2007 video showing the helicopter attack in Iraq. But releasing all the diplomatic cables was going too far, he said. “My plan initially was not to see him arrested. I and the FBI wanted to continue feeding him disinformation,” Lamo said. However, the criminal investigation unit of the Army had other plans, he said. A compassionate man, Lamo sounds burdened by the weight of his actions. He's been called a “snitch” and received lots of hate mail for turning in someone whom many people, including Wikileaks founder Julian Assange–call a hero. Lamo has even received death threats. He knew he would feel the heat but felt that the only honorable thing to do was to go public with the story, because Manning “has a right to know who flipped him.” “I agonized over this. I regret the whole situation,” Lamo said. “I wish he had never told me anything beyond the gun camera footage, but ultimately, I didn't get Bradley Manning arrested. Bradley Manning got Bradley Manning arrested.” added by: Elevator
