Kristen Stewart Quits Smoking, Learns French

‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ star says she learned to speak French during shooting for ‘On the Road’ in our exclusive Sneak Peek Week chat. By John Mitchell, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Kristen Stewart Photo: MTV News Kristen Stewart helped MTV News kick off our Sneak Peek Week in style when she and “Snow White and the Huntsman” co-star Sam Claflin joined our own Josh Horowitz for a fun-filled chat Tuesday night, during which she revealed that not only is she learning French, she’s also recently given up a very bad habit. The “Twilight” starlet decided to learn the foreign language while filming the much-anticipated adaptation of Jack Kerouac’s beat generation classic “On the Road,” which just premiered at the Cannes Film Festival. “On ‘On the Road,’ everyone spoke French. We were primarily in Montreal,” Stewart told MTV News. “I spent so much time … and I was just, like, feeling so pathetic. Not only is it a very dope language, it’s more like I really want to be able to talk to a few people so badly.” And while her coolness has never been in question, the busy actress apparently felt a little insecure about her cred while trekking around Paris unable to speak the language. “When I’m in Paris, I feel like I could be so much [cooler]. I’m like, ‘Wow, I could be so cool.’ So that’s the main inspiration,” she said. When chastised about one Parisian habit she adopted a while back, smoking cigarettes, Stewart was quick to reveal that she has apparently given it up — though she didn’t want to talk too much about her health-conscious move for fear of jinxing herself. “You can’t acknowledge it or else suddenly … you can’t think about it,” the slightly rattled actress confessed amid a loud round of applause for her achievement. Stewart will take the stage with her “Huntsman” co-stars Charlize Theron and Chris Hemsworth as presenters at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday. “Huntsman,” which hits theaters Friday, kicked off our MTV Sneak Peek Week, which will also include exclusive peeks at some of the summer’s hottest films, from “That’s My Boy” (Wednesday) and “Magic Mike” (Thursday) to “Rock of Ages” (Friday), as well as nightly chats with their casts live from the 5 Towers on Universal CityWalk. Tune in to MTV at 11 p.m. ET each night as the casts introduce an exclusive clip from their movies, and join us at MTV.com for a live Q&A with the actors. You can also join the conversation yourself on Twitter using the hashtag #MTVSneak. Stewart is also, once again, a contender for the golden popcorn for Best Kiss for her smooch with Robert Pattinson in “Breaking Dawn – Part 1.” The Russell Brand-hosted show is set to feature performances by Fun., Wiz Khalifa, the Black Keys and house DJ Martin Solveig. Rihanna, Radiohead Pick Up O Music Award Nominations

After fans submitted new nominees, RiRi and Radiohead are in the running for O Music Awards, which stream live on June 27. By James Montgomery Rihanna Photo: Kevork Djansezian/Getty Images/DCP The O Music Awards have always been the least traditional awards show. And as if this year’s edition — which will stream live online on June 27 over the course of 24 hours … aboard a bus with the Flaming Lips behind the wheel — wasn’t already proof of that point, well, try this on for size. Thanks to fan suggestions, the O Music Awards have expanded their list of nominees, meaning that acts like Rihanna and Radiohead have picked up nods, and 30 Seconds to Mars are now tied with the Lips, Taylor Swift, Tanlines and MC Hammer (!) as the event’s most-nominated act. RiRi picked up a nom in the ( very prestigious)Best Artist With a Cameraphone category — she’s up against the likes of Justin Bieber and Kreayshawn — while Radiohead are now up for the Digital Genius Award, facing off against Gorillaz, iamamiwhoami and OK Go (to name just a few). 30 STM earned a nod for Best Online Concert Experience, which, when coupled with their Fan Army FTW nomination, means they’ll head into the awards show with a total of two noms. So far, more than 2.7 million votes have been cast in all the O Music Award categories. For a full list of nominees and to vote for your faves — including Nicki Minaj and One Direction — in each category, check out the show’s official site . The O Music Awards will stream live at OMusicAwards.com on June 27, when the Flaming Lips will board the Magical Mystery Merry Prankster Bus and attempt to break Jay-Z’s record for playing the most concerts in one 24-hour period.

Justin Bieber Rooting For ‘Bridesmaids’ At MTV Movie Awards

Singer shares his fond memories of the Movie Awards, which always have him ‘laughing and having a great time.’ By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Kara Warner Justin Bieber Photo: MTV News Justin Bieber ‘s fondness for the MTV Movie Awards dates back to a time way before his 2011 nomination for Best Jaw-Dropping Moment. “My first memory?” he pondered to MTV News. “I remember just watching it from a young age and always laughing and having a great time.” While he didn’t nab any noms this year, he is hoping that “Bridesmaids” walks home with a Golden Popcorn trophy when the 2012 MTV Movie Awards go live this Sunday. “I liked ‘Bridesmaids.’ I need to see ‘Hunger Games’ again. I need to see it because I went there the first night it came out and I feel asleep because it was like super-late. But I need to see it again,” he explained, before breaking down why he loved the raunchy female comedy so much. “I just think it was funny. It’s kind of like the female version of ‘The Hangover,’ ” he said. “I thought it was funny.” Expect more memories to be made and lots of Golden Popcorn statues to be handed out (maybe even to “Bridesmaids”) when the 2012 MTV Movie Awards take place this weekend. The show will be hosted by Russell Brand and feature performances by Fun. , the Black Keys, Martin Solveig and Wiz Khalifa . It all goes down from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California, on Sunday. Head over to MovieAwards.MTV.com to vote for your favorite flicks now! ‘Twilight’: Are There More Vampires In Stephenie Meyer’s Future?

‘Things change so much from week to week,’ the author tells MTV News of returning to the vampire franchise in the future. By Fallon Prinzivalli, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Stephenie Meyer Photo: MTV News The final installment of Stephenie Meyer’s vampire saga, “Breaking Dawn – Part 2,” hits theaters this fall, showing newlywed Bella Cullen in all her red-eyed, ice-cold-skin glory. It’s been a long journey since “Twilight” released in 2008 and many fans are sad to say goodbye to their beloved franchise. But when the credits roll on November 16, it may not be the end of Edward and Bella’s story. When MTV News flew out to Albuquerque, New Mexico, to visit Meyer on the set of “The Host,” the author revealed she has a few more story lines in mind for the couple. “Things change so much from week to week, let alone year to year. I mean, there are other stories, obviously,” she said. “I have a really hard time putting down characters and so I know what would happen. It’s just a matter of, ‘Are we tired of vampires?’ I kind of feel like maybe we are as a general group.” Us, tired of vampires? Never! But Meyer did admit — even if we’re still up for more bloodsucking tales — she’s a little worn out on the creatures. “It might take some time to want to go back there. And of course, for me it’s easier ’cause I know exactly what happens so there’s not as much suspense and stress for myself.” Fans of the “Twilight” series may recall Meyer’s venture back to Forks when she wrote the first novel from Edward Cullen’s perspective, “Midnight Sun.” The story was leaked online, causing the writer to put its release on hold. For those of us who are itching to get our hands on a copy, we may have to wait a few years. “You know, I’m trying to stay away from the vampire stuff because I do think if I can focus on other things, I’ll recharge a little bit there. I haven’t really looked at anything vampirish for a little while,” she said. “Someday, like on my deathbed or whatever, if I never get around to writing it, I’ll tell everyone what happens. I’ll just narrate for a little bit.” “Breaking Dawn – Part 1” is up for two MTV Movie Awards this year under the categories Best Kiss and Movie of the Year. Voting is still open, so make your voice heard! Then, this Sunday, June 3, at 9 p.m. ET you can catch the results on MTV, along with appearances by your favorite castmembers — including Kristen Stewart. Adam Sandler’s ‘That’s My Boy’ A ‘Dream Come True’ For Cast

Andy Samberg, Ciara and crew weigh in on teaming up for a Sandler comedy, during Movie Awards Sneak Peek Week. By Josh Wigler, with reporting by Josh Horowitz The cast of “That’s My Boy” Photo: MTV News Whether he’s going back to school, tapping in golf balls or hanging out with his fellow grown-ups, Adam Sandler knows how to bring the laughs. He’s especially hilarious when he’s allowed to deliver his fair share of F-bombs, which he does rather liberally in “That’s My Boy,” his new comedy about a disgraced father — that’s Sandler — trying to reconnect with his son, played by “Saturday Night Live” comedian Andy Samberg. It’s a ridiculous premise, sure; Sandler’s only 12 years older than Samberg, after all. But that doesn’t make working on “That’s My Boy” anything less of a dream come true for Samberg. As part of our Sneak Peek Week leading up to the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday (June 3), Samberg and his “That’s My Boy” co-stars joined together onstage to praise the work of Sandler, one of the Lonely Island frontman’s comedy heroes. “It was awesome to work on this,” he said. “It was a full-tilt dream come true for me to be asked to do it.” Co-star Will Forte agreed, saying, “It was such a wonderful set, because Adam, who’s also one of my comedy heroes, tells you exactly what he wants, then he lets you discover stuff on your own too. He points you in the right direction. He’s so amazing to work with.” Amazing, yes, but vulgar too. Make no mistake: “That’s My Boy” is a hard R packed to the gills with beer, bongs, boobs and bad language. “It is a dirty movie. It’s a raunchy movie,” Forte said. “If you’ve seen previews for the movie, then you have no idea what it’s about, because they need to take five seconds here and five seconds there. … It’s a dirty movie.” It’s not just comedy veterans like Sandler, Samberg and Forte who get dirty in “That’s My Boy” either. Even Grammy-nominated singer Ciara was allowed to get in on the fun, and she said she’s walking away from the Sandler experience with a desire to pursue further acting adventures. “It was so much fun. This crew is so hilarious,” she said. “From this experience, I want to do so much more. I’m determined to do more.” As for what Samberg took away from working with Ciara? “She taught me so many dance moves,” he quipped. Dominic Monaghan Claims Matthew Fox ‘Beats Women’

Monaghan tweets that his former ‘Lost’ co-star has ‘often’ abused women; a source close to Fox denies the claims to TMZ. By Jocelyn Vena Dominic Monaghan and Matthew Fox Photo: Getty Images Dominic Monaghan had some heated words for his former “Lost” co-star Matthew Fox on Twitter over the weekend. It all stemmed from a fan asking Monaghan to persuade Fox to tweet more. “He beats women. No thanks,” he told the fan, @omggbeccaa. Monaghan was seemingly referring to an allegation by a female Cleveland party-bus driver who filed a personal-injury suit against Fox last year after he allegedly punched her in the groin when she refused to take him back to his hotel. Prosecutors never filed charges against the actor, and Fox has since countersued the woman for defamation. After Monaghan’s initial tweet to her, the fan responded, “I KNOW IT WAS WRONG BUT WHAT?! WHAT ABOUT ALL THOSE GOOD TIMES YOU HAD TOGETHER?!” He tweeted back, “How do you know we ever did?you don’t know either of us.he beats women.not isolated incidents.often.not interested.” Regarding the Cleveland woman’s claim against Fox, the actor added, “An accusation is when you’claim’ someone did something wrong.i know.but hey little fan girl maybe want to get slapped around by him? Daddy issues? Blinded by the nice haircut? It’s never okay. Maybe you have lower standards.” As the heated conversation came to an end, the fan responded, “Sorry about the matthew fox thing stay awesome,” before she began receiving threats from people who accused her of condoning abuse. “To clear things up- when i wrote that tweet i had no idea it would get that kind of a response from dom.. after that tweet, i wrote back without even thinking- in that moment i was just diassapointed- so for those of you who are saying that i think it is okay to ‘beat women’ you are wrong, so please stop with the hate tweets,” she wrote. “i respect doms opinion, just not the way he handled the response.” According to TMZ , since the exchange went down over the weekend, a source close to Fox said he has never beaten a woman, despite Monaghan’s Twitter allegations. The source added that the actors haven’t spoken in years and never had any huge arguments that would lead to Monaghan’s Twitter tirade. Fox’s rep has yet to comment. In 2010, Monaghan portrayed an abusive boyfriend in Eminem ‘s “Love the Way You Lie” video alongside Megan Fox. “I think we tried as hard as we could to not glorify the violence, to try and explain that this was a relationship that is by no means ideal and a relationship that probably should have ended a lot sooner than it did,” Monaghan told MTV News in 2011 about his role in the controversial clip. Of Em’s own history with violence , Monaghan added, “He has a very good handle on his anger. He’s able to channel it very easily. Instead of hiding behind it or pretending that there’s something else going on, he actually is able to pinpoint where his anger is coming from.”

LMFAO Hope They Have The Movie Awards ‘Anthem’

Kid Cudi, Chemical Brothers, Figurine and College/ Electric Youth also up for Best Music at Sunday’s show. By Kevin P. Sullivan LMFAO Photo: Jason Merritt/ Getty Images The right song can make a normal scene in a movie one that goes down as a classic, and pairing a scene with the perfect backing tune can shed new light on a song you thought you knew. So for the MTV Movie Awards , we honor the music that met the perfect movie and made the magic happen. Head over to MovieAwards.MTV.com to cast your vote and make sure your favorite takes the stage this Sunday, June 3, at 9 p.m. ET to collect the Golden Popcorn. Here’s our rundown of the Best Music nominees: College and Electric Youth’s “A Real Hero,” “Drive” If “Drive” had been just a straightforward crime thriller like a synopsis might suggest, it would have amounted to nothing more than an average genre entry with a pretty face attached. Instead, director Nicolas Winding Refn infused every inch of this new cult classic with ’80s nostalgia, including an electro-fueled soundtrack, led by the College/ Electric Youth collaboration “A Real Hero.” The pick could seem odd at first, but as soon as it kicks in and all other sound fades away, everything just clicks. Figurine’s “Impossible,” “Like Crazy” Young lovers inevitably come to adopt songs as meaningful and important to the memory of their relationship. Appropriately, last year’s “Like Crazy” featured a killer soundtrack, suitable for the impossibly cute first love. “Impossible” comes up during one of the more difficult moments in the film, when our ocean-crossed lovers are apart and old memories keep new ones from taking. It added a layer of reality and depth to a scene that felt straight out of real life. Kid Cudi’s “Pursuit of Happiness” (Steve Aoki dance remix), “Project X” When it comes to throwing the world’s greatest house party, a badass playlist lands at the top of the to-do list, right below “invite people.” Just a quick glimpse at the clip proves that there’s nothing quite like this Kid Cudi/ Steve Aoki jam to party till the sun comes up or the cops kick everyone out. LMFAO’s “Party Rock Anthem,” “21 Jump Street” Now if you’re more in the mood for party music to get stabbed in the back to, LMFAO’s “Party Rock Anthem” may be more up your alley. The song turned out to be the perfect accent to Schmidt and Jenko’s first big house party as fake high-schoolers, and it showed that you shouldn’t let something like a pesky knife wound ruin your rager. The Chemical Brothers’ “The Devil Is in the Details,” “Hanna” Similar to “Drive,” “Hanna” uses fairy-tale motifs and a frighteningly memorable score from the Chemical Brothers to elevate what would have otherwise been a rather typical Bourne rip-off. The music adds a whole other level of danger and makes the tale of a tween-age master assassin all the more sinister and disturbing.
