A long time ago, we used to be frinds with Veronica Mars. And that relationship will be rekindled on March 14 when the Veronica Mars movie hits theaters! In anticipation of this big screen adventure, we’ve got your first look at the film’s poster, which features star Kristen Bell and the tag line “She thought she was out.” It’s a reference to Veronica moving across the country and becoming a lawyer… only to get a call from Logan at the outset of the film that changes everything. Divergent fans, we hope you’re sitting down. The first official trailer for the film adaptation of Veronica Roth’s best-selling young adult novel is here! Starring Shailene Woodley and Theo James, Divergent is set in a dystopian futuristic Chicago, where the citizens are divided into distinct factions. Woodley’s Beatrice “Tris” Prior is about to take the crucial aptitude / personality test that all 16-year-olds must to find out where they belong. Watch the full-length preview for the much-anticipated movie below: Divergent Movie Trailer As you might expect, even if you’re among the uninitiated, Tris’ results make her … divergent. In other words, she just doesn’t fit into any society. “The only way society can survive is for each of you to claim your rightful place,” Kate Winslet, who plays a faction leader, tells the divided groups. Tris, therefore, must hide who she is as she seeks to learn what makes herself and others deemed divergent so dangerous, before it’s too late. She meets and flirts with her instructor, Four (James), trains to establish her rank among her competitors, and tries to conceal her identity at all costs. It looks pretty awesome. As does the official poster for the movie, released by Summit and featuring Woodley and James against a futuristic backdrop … “What makes you different makes you dangerous” is the official Divergent tagline. Oh man, the 70s were not an attractive time when it comes to clothing choices. If there was any doubt of that, check out these new images from the upcoming American Hustle. When not even Bradley Cooper can pull something off, you know it was a bad idea. I imagine an entire generation of men look back at their ill-advised perms (although we’ve been assured that Cooper’s curls are not a perm) and just shake their heads. However, with the team assembled for the upcoming American Hustle – Bradley Cooper, Christian Bale, Amy Adams, Jennifer Lawrence, and Jeremy Renner, with director David O’Russell – we can be pretty certain that the story will overpower any and all bad hair. Bale, in another “not Batman” role (you can see his other upcoming work with this Out of the Furnace trailer ), plays a con-man who garners the attention of FBI agent Bradley Cooper. Following the true story of the Abscam scandal, in which five Congressmen and a U.S. Senator ended up being convicted of corruption, American Hustle is not lacking in the drama department. The mother of 2-year-old cancer patient Hazel Hammersley playfully posted a sign made of medical tape in the window of her daughter’s hospital room that read “SEND PIZZA.” Never did she expect that someone would photograph the SOS, then post it on Reddit, where users pooled together to grant the request for the toddler and her family. And then some. So overwhelmed was the hospital by random pizza deliveries from across the United States that the family had to politely call off the request for pies! It came as a welcome respite from the toddler’s difficult fight ahead. Hazel, affectionately known as “Hazelnut,” was diagnosed with high-risk, stage 3 neuroblastoma in April and will require 18 months of treatment. Her mother Lauren said the family merely put up the sign to pass the time and try to have some fun and perhaps brighten up a stranger’s day. It ended up making the day for Hazel , as well as a number of other courageous kids battling against all odds at Los Angeles Children’s Hospital. Lauren wrote on the family’s blog, Our Little Hazelnut: “We began hearing news that several pizzas were being delivered to the hospital.” “After only a few short hours, we were told that someone had taken a picture on the street of our sign, had posted it to Reddit and it had reached #1!!” “Hazel woke up from her nap to the smell of pizza and was so excited! Several other children and nurses came into the room, with music playing, and had themselves a wonderful Pizza Party.” “We have been absolutely humbled by the outpouring of love and support … and can only hope and pray that this brings awareness to Neuroblastoma and the Childhood Cancer Community.” Well done, Internet. Very well done on this one.
We’ve seen the Catching Fire trailer , but now EW has released a new image from the film. It’s none other than Katniss Everdeen in a wedding dress! The Hunger Games sequel doesn’t open in theaters until November, but we get the sense things are going to start catching on fire (sorry… couldn’t be avoided) really soon. Already we’ve seen a lot of the cast in these Catching Fire portraits , plus Katniss and Peeta in the Catching Fire poster celebrating their Hunger Games victory… but with so much time between now and November, it’s just a matter of time before posters and images and trailers start pouring in. We’ve seen the I, Frankenstein poster but star Aaron Eckhart has decidedly way too much clothing on. That has all been remedied now thanks to EW and their new I, Frankenstein image of Eckhart as the iconic monster. Don’t you just want to give Frankenstein’s monster a hug? He looks so forlorn and sad. Actually he look more sweaty than sad. And muscely and dirty and… is it January 24th yet? Need some other movie images to fill your afternoon? Steve Jobs himself was a colorful character so it seems only right that in this new Jobs poster, Ashton Kutcher gets the full spectrum treatment. After seeing the Jobs trailer , there was no doubt that not only does Ashton Kutcher look a lot like Steve Jobs, but also Josh Gad bears a striking resemblance to Steve Wozniak. The new images from the film released today just drive that point home. Check out plenty more Jobs images after the jump! It’d be easy to think you throw some 70’s era clothes on a couple guys and they could maybe pass for Jobs and Wozniak but I think we can all agree, casting made a great call with these two actors. What better way to celebrate the birth of this great nation than with a porn biopic? Well the trailer for one at least. Lovelace stars Amanda Seyfried as Linda Lovelace, an icon in the world of porn and star of Deep Throat . Peter Sarsgaard does what Peter Sarsgaard seems to do best by playing her creepy husband. Lovelace Trailer Lindsay Lohan was originally on board as Linda Lovelace but was replaced by Seyfried. Perhaps it’s time to stop and take a look at your life trajectory if you are replaced in a movie about a porn star. Just a thought. Click through the jump to check out the Lovelace poster ! I’m not one that would usually think “porn biopic, I need to see that” but this looks really intriguing. It probably worked out for the best that Lohan was bumped for Seyfried because she is much more believable as the seemingly vulnerable and wide-eyed Linda Lovelace. Add in Hank Azaria, Bobby Cannavalle, and “is that really her?” Sharon Stone, and I’m sold. Plus Juno Temple who you can see as a sex worker in the Afternoon Delight trailer as well.
Porn star Stoya says her dad is far from pleased with her career choice. Not for the reasons you might expect from a parental figure, however. “My dad is purely just angry that I ruined porn for him,” the top adult actress told the Huffington Post . “[He’s mad] because I couldn’t, like, just do a few scenes.” “I had to sign with a big company.” Because she did, Stoya’s dad is often faced with her decision … head on. When he goes to an adult film site for some instant gratification, there is often an ad for her Fleshlight, a sex toy modeled after Stoya’s own private parts. Wonder how that exchange goes over at the dinner table at dad’s place. “This isn’t normal dinner conversation. Just once in a while,” she jokes. Would you approve of your child joining this particular business?
