In a cover story of this month’s issue of Marie Claire, the Hidden Figures star makes quite the bold statement: She encourages those who share her gender to withhold their most private part from members of the opposite gender as a form of protest. “People have to start respecting the vagina,” Monae told Marie Claire, explaining: “Until every man is fighting for our rights, we should consider stopping having sex. I love men. But evil men? I will not tolerate that. You don’t deserve to be in my presence.” This would explain why Melania Trump has not slept with Donald Trump in about a decade. In all seriousness, however, this idea may sound ludicrous. But if ALL women around the globe really did agree to close their legs for ALL men… you just know there would be equal pay laws on every book in about two-and-a-half days. Monae acknowledges the facts. She talks openly about the lack of female leadership around the country. She figures that if voters won’t put a woman in the White House, for example, then women themselves need to take their own kind of unique stance in order to demand change. “If you’re going to own this world and this is how you’re going to rule this world, I am not going to contribute anymore until you change it,” she says, addressing men in power and adding: “We have to realize our power and our magic. Because I am all about black-girl magic, even though I’m standing with all women. But this year? “This year, I am so carefree black girl.” Monae also elaborated on what “sexy” means in her view, stressing the significance of embracing one’s individuality. “Women automatically are told that this is how you should look. This is how you should get a man. This is how you should get a woman,” she told the magazine. “You need to fit into all these boxes to be accepted. I don’t subscribe to that way of thinking. I don’t think we all have to take the same coordinates to reach the same destination. “I believe in embracing what makes you unique even if it makes others uncomfortable.” Amen, right?!? In closing, the actress reminded readers just how important it is to stay true to themselves. “I believe in embracing what makes you unique even if it makes others uncomfortable. I have learned there is power in saying no. I have agency. I get to decide.” And, if it’s up to Monae, men won’t get to decide on the next time they have sex until they take a long, hard look in the mirror and realize: I’ll never get long and hard in bed again unless I do some things differently!

Okay, before you get too upset and try to get the president on the phone only to get stuck listening to Steve Bannon ‘s drunken ramblings about the deconstruction of the administrative state, let us clarify one very important thing: Katy Perry is not in any sort of danger. And Ryan Phillippe is not guilty of any serious crimes that we’re aware. (As far as we know, starring in the movie Antitrust is not a punishable offense … yet.) So then why is it that we’re talking about Perry being chained to Phillippe’s water heater? Well, it all started with the folks at Hollywood Life and one of their breathless, all-caps EXCLUSIVES. The site reported that Katy and Ryan were spotted flirting at Elton John’s birthday party last month. That led to rumors that they were a full-blown couple. And those rumors led to this tweet from Ryan: “I am not dating katy perry. Barely know her. Please stop flying helicopters over my hosue. She is not here. Thx.” One commenter pointed out what we were all thinking, writing: “That’s what some1 who has Katy Perry in his basement would say.” Katy saw the exchange responded thusly: Dammit, now we wish they were dating! Sadly, Katy went on to make it perfectly clear that far from being a couple, she and Ryan have scarcely met: “Hi, nice to meet you, sorry bout that @RyanPhillippe carry on, lol,” she tweeted at the actor. There’s been no real update on Katy’s love life since reps announced back on March 1 that Perry and Orlando Bloom have broken up . Oh, we learned last week that she’s taken the occasional dip in the lady pond , but we sort of assumed that, what with the lyrics about the cherry Chapstick and whatnot. As for Phillippe, well, he was engaged to Paulina Slagter , but that appears to be … over? Frankly, we have no idea. Shia LaBeouf went all Shia LaBeouf at a bowling alley in Los Angeles on Wednesday night. The bizarre actor, who is known for being both weird and short-tempered, got kicked out of the aforementioned establishment after flipping his proverbial lid on a bowler. In the following video, which was initially posted by TMZ, LaBeouf is hanging out at Pinz in Studio City, having been there for about three hours, tossing back beers. This, according to a witness who filmed the footage below and sent it to the celebrity gossip website. The actor then got overly rowdy and began getting into a verbal altercation when the staff told him to leave the premises. After a bartender refused to serve LaBeouf french fries, Shia totally and completely lost it. Why does he scream that this man is a “racist?” It's unclear, based on the video TMZ has obtained. But LaBeouf most definitely has this impression for some reason. LaBeouf, of course, has become better known for incidents such as this over anything he's done on the big screen in a very long time. In 2015, for example, he got arrested in Austin after disobeying a police officer's orders, acting erratically and taunting cops in the area. He was also accused in the past of assaulting now-wife Mia Goth. As for the latest Shia LaBeouf shenanigans? They don't compare to domestic assault at least. Alec Baldwin: LYING About Sex Scene With Underage Nikki Reed?!

Alec Baldwin has a new memoir out, and like most things the sometimes-beloved actor is involved with, the release has not been without its share of controversy. Yes, Baldwin opens up on his feud with Trump . (He even admits they have some things in common!) And yes, he apologizes for being verbally abusive to Ireland Baldwin when she was a child (still hates her mom, though). But Baldwin likely penned those parts of his memoir knowing they would spark some conversations that would hopefully lead to a boost in sales. What he probably didn’t anticipate, however, is the brewing scandal surrounding the portion of the book that concerns a racy scene he shot with Nikki Reed in 2006 … when the actress was just 16 years old. Writing about his experiences shooting the indie film Mini’s First Time, Baldwin had this to say: “I was 47, and it never occurred to me to ask how old Nikki Reed was.” “When I found out, just as we finished, that she was 17, I flipped out on the producers, who had told me something different.” Now, Dana Brunetti, a producer on the film, is claiming Baldwin is doubly full of it: Brunetti says not only was Reed only 16 (not 17, as Baldwin claims), but that Baldwin was fully informed of her age before the scene was shot. “My first indie film was Mini’s starring @AlecBaldwin who knew @NikkiReed_I_Am was 16 (not 17) and he didn’t mind,” Brunetti tweeted last night. “In fact (Reed) was one of four actresses (Baldwin) had approved and her being the only one of those four repped by his own agency CAA.” Brunetti went into greater detail in an interview with The Hollywood Reporte r today, even going so far as to hit Baldwin with a Trump-related burn: “It’s a lie,” Brunetti tells the magazine. “I read it and was like, ‘What the f—. Of course he totally knew how old she was.” Brunetti added: “He knew before we even cast the movie. I think he’s been method acting Trump too much and he doesn’t know the difference between fake news anymore.” Fellow producer Ethan Astrowski backed up Brunetti’s version of events, stating: “What Alec says happened is not accurate. I completely corroborate that. We were on set every day.” The scene was perfectly legal due to the fact that Reed remained at least partially clothed, but lying about it is still not a good luck for Baldwin. And he was having such a great, relatively scandal-free year, too! Oh, well. There’s always 2018!
